i love how these cars have the 03-04 cobra motors but seems like panoz cheaped out since they borrowed the gauge cluster from them aswell. not that anything is wrong with the gauge cluster but this is no svt product. ford owns panoz but would it have killed them to come up with there own instrument cluster?

I like Panoz but it is getting a bit on and a full refresh would be much appreciated. The Car hasn't really changed since the 1990s. Something evolutionary like the Porsche 911s go through. More evenly and smoothly flowing. Also I like the blunted nose maybe because this one just looks added on.

Thats right. Fuck engineers! It is better for a car to look cool than to perform well, be safe, get good fuel mileage, not break down, etc. Hire a "designer" instead of an engineer and your priorities will totally be in line. Give me a break. Seriously?

You know little. Ferrari doesn't design their bodies, they turn to Pininfarina. Why? Because a designer knows what looks good. An engineer knows what runs good. Look at the Prius -- just who is it who wants to be seen driving a turtle? That car needs redesigning and the next one is just as bad looking.

The Prius looks that way because it helps reduce drag at highway speeds and therefore improves gas mileage. If you let a designer do whatever the hell they want with it you could potentially lose this quality. The same goes for this Panoz. You could mess up the downforce, drag, etc. by letting designers go to town on it and it would look better but perform worse. It depends on what you value more I guess. Look how fugly the Ultima GTR is but it is still very functional and hella fast.

Yeah I don't like them either to be honest. Still, a prius is going to be gay no matter what they do to it. I would probably rather have an ugly economy car that is more economical because it is gay either way but a better looking sports car even if you have to cut a little performance.

Very nice video...but that "custom tip" is the tip of the SLP Performance Parts PowerFlo exhaust system for a Corvette C5. I don't know much about Panoz, and I'm curious if the car is just using the tip or the whole system. I'm not trying to degrade the Panoz any, its a beautiful car. I'm only curious.

A lesson for you: This car won the 12 Hours of Sebring AND the 24 Hours of Le Mans against Ferrari, Porsche, Spyker, and BMW. The Esperante is already a classic and true to it's American sportscar roots: They're all hand-built to individual orders, the bodies are aluminum, the leather is hand-stitched, and even the Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R engine is hand built and signed by the two Ford engineers who put it together...in fact, the entire Panoz crew who builds the car signs it.

You've got to remember that every Panoz Esperante receives a custom name specified by the owner (it's a salute to the muscle cars of old). I guess whoever had the car built liked "Janice". I've seen tons of Esperantes at ALMS races with names like "Tracy", "Ariel", and "Christine".
