Pretty blue-front Amazon !! Grandma is much braver than me, when those feather flare up I would never EVEN get my face close to my bird... Amazon change their mood so quickly.
Cost is an inconsequential part of bring a parrot into your home. I love my BF that we adopted from a rescue. But, parrots are a life long commitment. They are like children bond this a family and it can be devastating if they lose their family. Birds are messy, destructive and noisy. Kilo is a wonderful bird and it is evident he gets lots of attention. A parrot needs attention like this several times a day, every day for a life time to be social, happy and healthy.
@randersonrn I would go as far as to say some parrots are at least a two generation FAMILY commitment. This is why rescues are needed. Because of the life span of these wonderful creatures, they rarely have only one home.
@Taternator2101 He's an amazon. He would be about $500 to $1000 dollars, and his cage would be about $2000. You never, ever buy a parrot on a whim, they are EXPENSIVE.
What a cutie pie! I'm liking YFA's more & more. Seem to be good talkers. My vet has one. I foster 2 conures thru Exotic Bird Rescue at rescuebird*dot*com & we're doing a fundraiser cuz one of my boys needs life-saving surgery (a jenday whose been abused & had a hard life). He's come so far though & is mostly tame now. If u want to help, get more info about Norbert's story, or donate (tax-deductible), go to above site, cuz we need all the help we can get! We're trying to get word out so pls share
@kikiylful wen i thought id read an heard it all u come along ave u ever had a parrot and sat and watched it in its cage or out of his /her cage they are very flexible and acrobatic why in the hell u say dont let granny spread the parrots legs out that far it does them no harm at all i bread and keep parrots for years and they actually spread them wider doing acrobatics in there cages and by the way that is one happy parrot and lovein most parrots love interacting with humans
We have a male amazon who looks uncannily like your Kilo. :) We love to goof around with him like this, too, although he'd never perch on any of our fingers that long without trying to get off lol.
maybe birds react differently because when my amazon is relaxed, he spreads his tail and all the feathers on his head fluff out... he plays and wants lots of human contact. When his feathers are tight to his head, he's pissed.
what a nice video. It makes me smile to see a parrot have a loving home and cared for so well. So many are not that fortunate. These ladies seem to be such good moms to this cut little character. I laughed along with them in this video.
AAAWWWW WHAT A BEAUTY!!!!! ITS ALSO SO NICE TO SEE THAT THEIR ARE EXCELLENT PARROT OWNERS OUT THEIR! YOUR KILO IS BEAUTIFUL AND SOOOO SWEET THANKS FOR SHARING!
