a fantastic singer, song writer and his style is to die for!!!!!! the full package! foster and loyds texas in 1880 was the song that just made me fall in love with this style of music. i was a type of country, not reallly old stuff but something probably influenced to some degree from the eagles and im sure from texas country rock, either way it was evolving into what we are hearing with radney.
...... he heard the alarm sing out..... 911... he was running down stairs and he never got back down......
God bless. No matter how long I live I will never forget, my father, also a firefigher finally visited New York City just a week ago. We (myself a firefighter) will never forget the sacrifices made by 343 of New Yorks Bravest.... and the men of the New Yorks Finest killed that day.... they were all every day angels. RIP FDNY, NYPD, and Port Authority.
What ever happened to him? He is the most talented writer in the last 50 years. does he stil do any shows? I would go to friggin moon to see this guy perform.
@BIGWSKY - He still plays shows all over, but primarily Texas and occasionally around Nashville. He is indeed awesome and so talented. He's on facebook if you want to look him up.
A personal favorite of a personal favorite artist. The country star who didn't fit. If he and John Rich had found each other, I shudder to think.
When this song was coming out, Radney's first child was being born and he was being inducted into the Grand Old Opry. I won't forget his performance - he was exhausted and his son was two days old. He still nailed it.
Foster and Lloyd predated country by a good 25 years and had today's sound then. Radney Foster is a visionary.
Has anybody got the official video of this? I'd love to see it again. CMT has died and gone to pop.

A fantastic song by a very under-rated country-rock artist!

Radney has been a favorite of mine since the old Foster and Lloyd days. His latest album could be his best.
