would it look as beautiful if you took a full hd camcorder and rendered to 720p after recording in 1080p?

How did you use the h.264 encoder, and which encoder did you use? I used Easy H264 and the video on my channel (Jamiroquai concert) has had some loss of colour vibrancy. It's like the encoder bumped up the gamma of my video. Blacks are grayish, colours are blander.... I recorded at 720p on my 500d.

I dont remember exactly but it must be quicktime or mp4 with h264 encoding.

@Stupidization all you have to do is read the part at the end which says he used the ef 50mm f1.8 lens. This lens does not come with any camera and you must purchase it seperately. It is a VERY good lens for the $100 price tag that it has.

Nice quality. What rendering settings did you use? the raw footage I get from my T1i is amazing but i'm not getting that quality when I edit in Vegas and upload to youtube.

I don't have Sony Vegas in front of me but i think the output format was mp4. Maybe Sony mp4 or something like that.

Why would you film full HD @ 20 fps and then render it back to 720p 25 fps, when you can film at 720p 30 fps with the 500D? Just curious...

@guitarandgames420 Maybe its better to take the 550D because it has 25 or 30 fps at full HD... my only support 20fps at Full HD ... its a nonsense framerate . :)

I have used Sony Vegas for editing because it can handle the compressed mov -File of the Canon Eos 500 pretty well
