I don't know whether this is an error by YT, but auto-play has now started up on non-partner channels (in the last hour or so). I first noticed it on my channel - I thought I must have clicked it by mistake. But when I checked other non partner channels (that have a featured video enabled) - they are all now on auto play!!

I don't know whether the partners will like it, as auto play was always the most visible sign that you were on a partner channel. Of course it might all be an error by YT, and gets taken off as quickly as it arrived. Watch this space!

Thanks for the information about the partner program. I'm music promoter like KavernKitty and ModernOracle. I sent JCV's YT Girl video. I have apply twice but they say I don't have enough original content. I don't host my own show though I use the artist as guess host and I do best of Youtube videos with no host. I've been reading a lot about YT in the news lately. I think they are going to start to pursue more professional content and open up the program so they can monetize more videos.

I've watched almost 4000 videos (holy crap) and I generally don't like the auto play, because I don't most of the videos they have on youtube. Also, when the page loads with a video, it's a lot slower (the flash video player uses tons of CPU), so on slower machines it can interfere with the browsing (you're trying to get to a video, and everything becomes slower).

Anyway, I've set up my browser so that it doesn't start playing unless I click on it, even if it's on auto-play :p

the thing is that it's not really a browser setting, it's more like a browser hack.. you don't have a checkbox for the "normal users" to disable it, you have to go under hood.. one of the advantages of programming computers for a living ;)

Yeah I applyed twice in the past, got denied both times lol... I have enough video views ( I think) like over or 1000 views per most of my videos... but I only have 400 and some subscribers... So, what do i need different?

From what I've heard they usually give a reason for the denial. Because I've seen plenty of with 200-400 subs become partners before. Did they tell you why?

Honestly, the couple times that they actually made a direct deposit my account was so overdrawn I didn't even notice. It's such a small amount, it averages something silly like a buck a day. I'd love to get to a point where it actually helps put a tank of gas in the car... not quite there yet :)
