Rare's contract ended with Nintendo, so then they went independant, created Conker: Live and Uncut for the Xbox and PS2, Microsoft bought them, and changed that into Live and Reloaded. No. The Xbox version COMPARED to the N64 version (even though I find censors funnier) is shit, but alone the Xbox version is impressive with the graphics and is a great game ALONE. The only reason they censored the XBox version is because Walmart threatened not to carry the game if it kept the cuss words in uncensored. For some reason, they did not have this problem with the Nintendo 64 version. Either way, it was a smart move from a financial stand-point. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't angry about it.

@trynextmonday one of the things about the N64 Conker that made it such a funny game was that it was risque, and it came with plenty of warnings to say so. Censoring the remake when the original was not censored to such a degree seems completely pointless, and even ruins parts of the game, such as the poo boss' lyrics (which sound rubbish with the stupid fart noise they use to censor the swearwords). Perhaps an option to filter bad language should have been put in instead.

@trynextmonday The fact that this game didn't follow regular guidelines or rules was part of the appeal. The way the game's structured in terms of gameplay and it's progression was itself totally different from any platformer that had come before it. That, coupled with the story, characters and dialog, blended beautifully to create a game that is still as fun and as funny today as it was back in 2000. Censoring the original material to the degree that Reloaded did hurt the presentation big time.
