@tomt6040 how many times do you have to be told that by contractual law (AN ORDER OF GM THEMSELVES) that this engine COULD NOT be used for parts or as a whole? Just read the video description.

When GM donates items to schools they have to be destroyed afterward or in some cases given back to GM or donated to another school. Since it had outlived its usefulness, they destroyed it. For whatever reason, GM does not want this engine used by anyone else. Probably defective to start with.

At 0:26 something has finally failed. Sending a machine to the junkyard: Remove and Evaporate all oil from it. No water in the cooler. Then spindle it up and make some many RPM...just wait for another blast :-) Note : there are engines around taking up such torture with ease for long time before failing !

@KISSarmyist We had a GM 6.2 diesel V8 detonate in our parking lot under exceleration nearly at full RPM and the pistons, or what was left of them did make it out of the block with the heads intact. Also exiting was most of the crank, main bearing caps, and some of the block casting. Most of it came out through a newly formed vent in the oil pan. Most complete detonation I have ever seen at our shop for a diesel engine.

ok yea the trans is hooked up and the flywheel is what connects to the torque converter to the trans and what helps the the motor stay balanced is the harmonic balancer at tthe front of the motor thats connected to the serpentine belt but that was a cool vid ya see the head gasket blow out

Aren't you suppose to run an engine with a Flywheel or some other load on it? I mean the flywheel is what keep the engine rotating around smoothly. And you have no limit on the RPMs there.... with no load on it.
