  • Why the fuck in hell people call it micro mosquito? i think it was an GIANT mosquito!

  • Is that a big tv? I love it! But i only watch 20 min tv a day...!!!

  • guys i got a new small one of these called micro mosquito from the sourse but it just spins in circles and the "trim" knob doesnt help at all. also when i press Left it spins left, it doesnt go left ffs and when i try to go right it just spins right =/ PLEZZ HELPS ME!

  • if you want to add weight to this heli, slip a paper clip onto the two front legs, it work great.

  • Anyone find any mods to increase flight time besides shedding some weight on the thing? Maybe a different battery pack that weighs the same but holds a bigger charge?

  • cool shelf!

  • Pretty Cool :@)

  • I got the replacement blades for my Alany today. I ordered the ITC ones off ebay and it flies better than it ever did. While I was waiting I repaired my original blades and balanced them and added weight to the bottom rotor to increase it's inertia. This reduced gyroscopic progression. The new blades interestingly have extra weights on the bottom rotor compared to the top, so I was on the right track. So, good upgrade over all. I can now fly around the room and land where I want.

  • Good to hear. Strange that your Alany didn't have extra weights on the bottom rotor. Maybe that's why yours was so difficult to handle.

  • wat is that rod cas im gona buy one tomarrow it cost $69.98 and why do the prices vary is it speed, color wat i dont get it so im just gona by the highest priced 1 cas its usualy better than the cheap 1s please comment bak!!

  • for more forward/back speed I have to wonder if extending the tail boom could be a better option. The longer the tail boom the more pronounced the effect of the tail rotor will be. The only thing that may be necessary is the addition of a small amount of weight up front to counterbalance the extension.

    Not as simple as just adding weight to the nose of course.

  • That way you're making the heli heavier and thus more inert. I don't think it'll work.

    A bigger tail propeller works nice though.

  • a little more weight yes, but he's doing that anyway with the noseboom and screw. I was thinking the extended tailboom would enhance both forward and backward control through the laws of leverage. The larger tail rotor is a good idea too.

    I actually ordered one of these the day before yesterday. It should arrive in a few hours. I plan on taping it to the kitchen scales (weighted) to see how much lift it can generate :).

  • my apologies elub for referring to you in the third person. I'd not spotted it's your video :) my face is red.

  • Heh, thought so, no need for a red face.

    Did you get yours already?

  • Yes, it flew "ok" not as nice as some of the vids I've seen on here. On the third flight though I bumped the ceiling light and the top rotor tore out one of the bottom blades. Tape holds the main part of the blade but I'm waiting for flexible glue to dry on the blade root.

    While I was at it I've looked inside it and slid out some of the wiring for the tail motor. It's taped horizontally to the tail now to see if it will work as a push/pull motor rather than to pitch the nose.

  • Horizontal motor doesn't work. Glue didnt hold the rotor together either.. flew appart on landing.. so this thing has cost me about £1 per minute flight time.

    I cant comment on whether the more expensive ITC one is any more robust.

  • i think it would throw off the center of gracity on it too... i just added a heli havoc tail rotor blade.... forwards and backwards on the controller are inverted but flys like 10 times faster.... i think on my profile has a vid of it

  • that's why I mention it may need a counter balance on the nose to offset the extra length on the tail.

    Mine did actually come with a second, larger tail rotor.

  • oh sory kinda was in a rush that day and im in one now.... brothers lol

  • now it rly looks like a Mosquito

  • waar koop jij die rc mosquito

  • Bought it on ebay for around € 30,-, including shipping from Hong Kong to the Netherlands.

  • ZOMG! RGB LEDS! SEIZURE WARNING!

  • The light on my controller is now flashing and has stopped working.I changed the battery and problem is still there...any ideas whats wrong?

  • The flashing light indicates that the battery in the controller is almost empty.

    The transmitter draws around 50ma, quite a lot for a 9V battery (mine was empty within 3 hours). So I use rechargable 9V batteries.

  • NO id doesnt elubb you need to flick the throttle up all the way to activate it when you turn it on then it ill work fine!!!

  • The transmitter will also flash if the throttle (left stick) is up when you switch it on. As soon as you release the throttle (stick down) the light becomes steady and everything should be fine.

  • Where can i get a carbon fibre rod?

  • I got it in a shop that sells rc model airplanes/helicopters/cars (Muco Modelbouw in Amsterdam).

  • how high can this thing really fly. Some say 30 feet. some say 60 feet.-_-

  • still only crawls though!

  • On the front should be a big pin

    and you should fly at a dartboard

  • lol

  • do you think it is worth saving 50 bucks for the sacrifice of quality?(I'm assuming you've had both the real and knock off one:)

  • Dunno. I have never seen the original Micro Mosquito from Interactive Toy Concepts.

  • thanks anyway. aside from comparisons. do you think it would be worth 50 bucks? i've had many r/c cars both poor and good quality, but ive been disappointed by their quality. how is the alany for quality? thanks for your responses

  • It's just a plastic toy, designed to throw away one day. You can only order new tail/rotor blades. If one of the three motors break (which they eventually will do) or the lipo wears out, you have to be a bit creative to fix it. But I like tinkering, so for me it's no problem.

  • My Alany really crawled forward when I just got it. I used the supplied bigger tail rotor, which did improve forward flight slightly. Then I came up with this mod, with which you can control how fast the Alany can go forward.

  • Hi, i can' t move mine foward. When i push the right trigger to the front the tail rotor moves but the helicopter doesn' t go foward.

  • Cool flying. Is it really so easy to control the mosquito? Please click on reply

  • Out of the box it wasn't flying very nice. But this one is now very easy to fly. Some more tweaks I did to improve flight behaviour:

    -used the big propeller on the tail motor (the spare propeller is slighly bigger than the one on the Alany);

    -rotated tail motor about 3 degrees to the left;

    -lubricated moving parts with silicone spray;

    -added a placeholder to the main rotor shaft to remove some clearance.

    This tweaks are well known: see rcgroups dot com for more info.

  • Sure, send me a Micro Mosquito and I'll be happy to record and post the mod :D

  • can u make a video to shw me how to do it if u dunt mind

  • I removed the ballast by drilling from underneath. This heated up the two metal dishes. The plastic ballast holder (the cylinder between leds and motors) then got weaker and I could pop the two metal dishes out. After that I was able to drill the two holes through which the carbon rod goes.

  • Hi , you have a good idea, i am thinking something like this, how you put the wire ? you made a hole ?
