  • Thumbs up if you looked this up because you saw this on George Lopez

  • 51

  • I'll give Sid and Marty Krofft credit for the originality of this show, and it was certainly the best of all the Krofft shows, but this stuff was just wacked. Never liked it when I was a kid, and didn't know anyone who watched it ( I imagine no one wanted to admit it if they did)

  • @modularhalfpipe i use to watch this with all the Sid and kroof show on Saturday moring... im 44 right now and your

  • Did i just trip acid?

  • I Loved H.R. PUFNSTUF!... when I was a kid. Then, when I got a little older, I'd "Puff-Some-Stuff" when things got rough, lol, It always made me feel a lot better. Times were so much kinder back then.

  • He was my first crush when I was about three years old..RIP Jack Wild

  • haha. he was like 17. lol :((( i love him it sucks about his cancer and stuff

  • Who's your friend when things get rough? PuffnStuff, indeed...

  • is it just me or did witchypoo scare the crap out of you too?

  • this was jack whites childhood. meg was the kooky old witch.

  • What childhood memories, no wonder we turned out so weird...

  • What an imaginative children's program. This one really stuck with me from my childhood. Wasn't Charles Nelson Riley on this one too? Sadly, Jack Wild went off the deep end very quickly after this show and the results were horrific.

Wanna see a horror story? Google Jack Wild "images" and take a look at him around 2005. Bouts of alcoholism and cancer devastated him. After surgeons cut out his tongue it was over. He looks like an dying old woman. Truly sad. RIP Jack Wild.

  • @notredamehesamighty True. Sad, but still...true. I really loved his acting in Melody though...That was my favorite of his, I believe. Right after H.R. Pufnstuf it came out...correct? '71?

  • @Patchie97 I remember Jack Wild as "The Artful Dodger" in the 1968 musical "Oliver".

  • It's Saturday Morning cartoon time.

  • the kid is in the movie robin hood prince ot thieves as one of robin hoods men. when marion and her lady were going thru the forest and the 2 guys popped out not the guy who got kicked but the other one is the kids in this.

  • @princesszwinky Indeed...

  • @princesszwinky He is also the artful dodger in `Oliver`

  • pleaseeee never bring the show back.

  • @drewsta85 It would be impossible to bring it back because:

    a.) They've gotten old

b.) You have to leave the fact that he NEVER escapes the island

c.) Jack Wild, the actor who plays little Jimmy Boy died in 2006

d.) You can't make this stuff up nowadays

  • These singers sound like the same ones in the Dr. Suess cartoons. This has got to be the longest intro. in television history.

  • The witch is still with us today. And her name is Nancy Pelosi.

  • Please bring this show back ! ...lol

  • ITS A TRAP!

  • 48998325433985479847986439876562978637485873486758777776867845739857903875837485784573489576485764586785748768556784739808456849675834586483539486587984596438976486435867439675096308557348985437637068374896584753876587387587638758037583748784376873489570398757389537958397588886578365367834908643873648743687365896543877i3u689438uitnhjvdio8yu485483846378458893678534658678457489674578768476875746877485756856745876487876485675867845768947867458674857685784675867687486748576867 thats the code........

  • remembering all those things

  • Is that a flute, or a pipe?? Just sayin...

  • ....... If someone asked me to come and play, I would run like hell

  • @TheTeaParty14 ....I don't think I would even approach a boat that looked as sketchy as that one, much less talking.

  • kids always want a magical world, i did , but had to grow up, bohoooooo

  • kids always want a magical world, i did , but had to grow up, bohoooooo

  • LSD

  • I always wanted to learn that little dance dude did at.the end....that's funky

  • @broccolihart1 It's very simple. Just a jump to the left, then a step to the right. Put your hands on your hips...and pull your knees in tight. But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane...

  • @Patchie97 Let's Do The Time Warp Again! :)

  • @kd4adv Let's do the time warp again!

  • Ahh, the classics.....I loved this show !

  • This show aired in 1969 and never made it to 1970. Why does it say 1970s??

  • @Brdj010 I would have been 2 years old when I saw it based on those dates. Considering I remember witchie poo's hotel before I ever saw HR, I have to assume it lived on in syndication. And yes, I've spent the last 40 years trying to supress the flashbacks. Electric Company has nothing on Sidney and Krofft when it comes to hallucinogenic child-care.

  • @generalxanos I don't see anything about it living on in syndication. It obviously paved the way for more shows like it though.

  • @Brdj010 guess it's the reruns.

  • Jimmy was smokin some Meigs County Gold when he took his magical trip.............

  • sid and marty had to have been puffing something to think this up, but far worse is the Brady Bunch variety show~

  • Witchie-Poo had a pretty pimped-out broom!

  • and as puffenstuff starred in chips, the 70s gave the 80s birth, but who would be more rebirthed? pfffht i give up.

  • @spadehatesscrewtube Ah. A wise choice.

  • @Patchie97 :p heh heh.

  • NOSTALGIA COME AT ME!

  • starring jack white. because, come on, we all know he wanted this.

  • Its not bout drugs

  • That boat took him on a trip far across Big Bear Lake.

Hope he stopped at the Log Cabin Restaurant. They have awesome coffee.

  • Now we all know why Witchie-poo wanted that magic flute....

  • @Alln62 She was always oh-so lonely....

  • I'm in my forties now and used to watch this as a kid and I can honestly say, I have no idea what was going on!

  • oh like weed

  • I tried to post a link but YouTube...anyway, do a search for Mr.Show HR Pufnstuf lost episode. Great Stuff! Shows you ehat was really going on!

  • Inesquecível!

    Valeu pela postagem!

    Carlos - RJ - Brasil

  • I was waiting for the Beatles in Sgt. Pepper outfits to show up on the show!

  • Billie Hayes was hilarious in this show. You could tell she was revelling in her roll as Witchie Poo. I enjoy slap-stick and 'one-liners' and this show had them comin' one after another! And yes, it was quite obvious the Kroftts were doing ...something...Look at Lidsville. A show about sentient HATS! The Kroffts probably laid off around the great Land of the Lost era. I kinda wish they'd do a cast re-union thing with the original cast(check out the show DVDs! 'Will' & 'Holly' laugh it up!).

  • hehehe

  • Lol!

  • I only just realised they were hands grabbing Jimmy at 1:02

  • @Pozillaify Creepy, right?

  • @Patchie97 It looked like they were feeling him... In a sexual type of way.

  • @Pozillaify That's why he wanted to escape.

  • @Patchie97 LOL!

  • I loved this when I was younger!!!

BTW.. Did Jimmy ever get off Living Island? : /

  • @hikari59914051 Dude, I have the whole series and he doesn't. :/

    It's kinda depressing.

  • @Patchie97 That is depressing... : /

  • Oh the memories :3

  • Sweet I always loved this song and show THank you for putting this up!!

  • Just reading a bit about Jack Wild on Wikipedia.....didnt' know that he had battled alcoholism and died in 2006 due to oral cancer from smoking. So sad......

  • My God..look how blue the sky was...no jet trials....

  • OMG I watched this as a kid... Now it kind of creeps me out :)

  • Nah, man, the whole sixties was like that. If they weren't doing drugs they were emulating them who did.

  • I feel like this is a creepy night mare, but I like that it used to be an actual kids show

  • Comment removed

  • OMFG ,WE WATCHED THIS SAT MORNINGS,I HAD HR PUFF LUNCHBOX,FUCKOFF, THIS WAS WHEN HIPPYS TOOK OVER AND STARTED WORKING IN KIDS TV, TOO TEACH KIDS ABOUT FRIENDSHIP,ETC.THE TIMES THEN WHERE SO FILLED TURBULANCE,BUT AS A KID YOU NEVER KNEW IT CUZ YOU WERE TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT.

  • Please "Cartoon Network", "Boomerang" or "The Hub", air "H.R. Pufnstuf"?

  • They all were puffin' stuff back in those times.

  • Nightmares are made of this stuff.

  • KIID'S TODAY NEED TO WATCH THIS ...I LOVE THIS SHOW

  • @3fatkid Yes!!! That's the best!

  • i was watching a marathon of this on tvland in about 2003 and i was up until 3:00 am watching it....it was SO addicting....

  • I used to watch reruns of this in the 90s and my first lsd experience was watching this show. I feel like the walls are melting just hearing the theme song

  • I LOVE HR Pufnstuf!! I used to watch it all the time when I was little - Witchiepoo was the greatest :)

  • H.R PUFNSTUF ruled when I was growing up in the 70"s. Watched it Saturdays, Loved Jack Wild in Oliver, so I was thrilled to see him again in HR!

  • The first few lines is a reference to drugs...

  • OMG this intro is like an episode!

  • Thumbs up if Ellen Page sent you here!

  • @TaylorRbob Please don't say stuff like that. People don't send other people there. I really don't like that bit. I mean, it'd be cool if everyone just stumbled upon it by themselves.

  • this is the gayest shit ive ever heard of

  • @mrp0p07 Of course its gay, when you look at it as an adult. But if you looked at it as a kid, like us generation- Xers did, you'd enjoy reliving old memories like we are.

  • Great chords at :30

    Sounds like Singers Unlimited.

  • 0:41

I don't know why this occurs to me but a witch and massive bird minion?

I'm getting Neverending Story 2 flashbacks!

  • Love it Patchie !!!

  • That fool is straight C-walking at 1:33

  • @DVL32 LMFAO!

  • H.R. Pufnstuf was a big part of my childhood, Thankfully, I do have some of the show on dvd. Do you remember a time when there was no cable tv, and the kids actually looked forward to Saturday morning tv and cartoons? Then later in the day, a local network showed the creature double feature in the afternoon. As a kid, I so looked forward to watching Saturday tv!

  • Vivendi Home Entertainment will release "H.R. Pufnstuf: The Complete Series" coming to DVD. And they should also release "The Lost Saucer: The Complete Series" to DVD as well.

  • [[[ these people was on a acid or some heavy mescaline... weird weird show!!!!

  • H.R. Pufnstuf....Far Out Space Nuts....Banana Splits.....Lidsville.....New Zoo Review....Bugaloos

    70's television for kids!

  • CRACKWOOD is PufNstufs new home...CRACKWOOD!!!!!

  • im 14, and this is my fave show :D

  • @sibabby dude me too!! i always used to watch this as a kid XD

  • @Tahlz4life ahaha, i thought i was the only one, for christmas i asked all my friends to buy me the box set, they didnt even know what it was, i couldnt believe it.

  • HEY, DIDN'T YOU MOTHER EVER TELL YOU NOT TO RUN WITH A FLUTE IN YOU MOUTH KID?

  • What a trip. I havn't seen that in about 40 years. I LIVED for Pufnstuf when I was a kid, even remember writing a letter to Jack Wilde. Seeing something after so long is definately an odd experience, reigniting those neural pathways again. I love it!!!

  • Everything the Krofts wrote and produced must have been after a good trip....

  • whew at the dirty comments. Shame, shame, shame. Love this and lidsville.

  • You know you look back at what we watched and alot of it looked like something someone on a good "high" wrote and made into a show! LOLLLLLLLLLLL...take for instance Willy Wonka.....some guy was sitting on a couch with a case of the candy munchies and wrote that shit! But this was one of my fave shows to sit on the floor and watch while my mother yelled at me for sitting too close to the T.V.!!

  • I remember these days, when the intro & outro took up half the show.

  • WOW!! I havent seen this since I was about 9 and I remembered liking it for witchiepoo but , really?? Is this what I was watching ?? it is wierd, seriously quite startled to see this now and realise not all tv back then was worth the fond remembering. LOL gotta watch it again to be sure ; ) then im off to check out White horse and belle and sebastian!! :D :D

  • i love this show so much it brings back so many memories. golden merories of the good ol days.

  • H R can puff in my stuff anyday.

  • LOL

  • This was a good show, but I'd have to be puffin some stuff to make any sense of it.

  • this show is a drug trip

  • Pass the sugar cubes this way

  • loved it!

  • loved this as a kid....miss the 70s,,,was the best best time....gooo witchie poo..lol

  • @Neville6000 --- If you read my post again you will see that I am NOT making fun of Canada. Not repeating nonsense either, just repeating what my CANADIAN girlfriend said because she doesn't remember anything about this show and she said she thought the writers were on acid. Sensitive much? Also don't assume I'm a guy....

  • @bonjbrown so your a lesbo?

  • I can't BELIEVE dat boy did da "heel toe" after he was rescued! Lol.

  • Sid and Marty Kroft were geniuses at saving money on their shows. Note how long the intro is, and how it's the only part of the show with any location footage. The entire rest of the show is filmed on a soundstage.

  • @RedwoodTheElf

The clips from the intro were from the Pufnstuf movie.

  • Being 43 now, I grew up on Saturday monring TV shows. This was indeed a big thing for kids: the Saturday morning shows. But to honest, they were only a part. We did a lot of playing out in the yard and street and that's something I simply don't see kids do anymore. They don't play hide & seek, or ball in the street, or climbing jungle gyms, building stuff like legos, Lincoln Logs, Girder & Panel. Today it's all about playing video games. No creativity. No wonder kids are overweight today.

  • i loved this showw:) when i was little this was all i would watch!!!!!! i still have the box set of this show:) this brings back sooooo many memoires:D haha i feel like a loser but i do love this show!!!!

  • oh the memories

  • Linda was asking what HR Puffinstuff was. Apparently they were fortunate enough in Canada to be spare the fruits of Sid and Marty Kroft. (whom I'm pretty sure were on acid when they conceived the plot of this show.) So I shared this intro with her.

  • @bonjbrown: Nice way to put down Canada, guy, but yes, we did/do get American TV down here, and we all did see the Kroft shows back in the 1970's, so please stop repeating nonsense.

  • @bonjbrown I used to love Sid & Marty Kroft's shows when I was a kid. Then again, I grew up less than 10 minutes from the Canada/US border, so I watched a fair bit of US programming.

  • Witchypoo used to scare the f@ck out of me!

  • I love Scooby Doo and Hr Pufnstuf, Sadly, Scooby doo is shit on tv now. Also Hr Pufnstuf has stop being played due to the person playing Jimmy dieing. and. Created. Sigh. TV is getting so shitty now. I wonder why people still have them... Well, thats if they like really old shows like Scooby Doo and Hr Pufnstuf. Etc

  • @Pozillaify: Actually, Sid and Marty never kept the shows in syndication much-that's the REAL reason. And H.R PUFNSTUF's on DVD now anyway.

  • @Neville6000

Were there enough episodes to put on a DVD? I thought there were only a few before it got pulled. I can't remember more than like 10 at the most. The Pufnstuff movie was probably longer than all the TV episodes put together.

  • @gamewizard: Yes, there were. That's why it was put on DVD by Rhino Entertainment.

  • Sid and Marty Kroft were the best! They knew how to stretch the imagination with some of the goofy characters that they put forth in their shows. My favorite on HR Puff N Stuff were Kling And Klang!

  • @lorlorjb I also remember in 1976, a developer wanted the worlds first indoor amusement park and asked Sid and Marty Kroft to create it, and to be held in The Omni in Atlanta, now where Phillips Arena stands. It only lasted six months due to poor attendance.

  • 7 years old...I remember eating bowl after bowl of Freakies cereal and watching Saturday morning TV shows about giant talking hats and big headed dragon mayors while waiting for that little metal oven to reach 275 degrees to cook the plastigoop for making purple spiders, glow-in-the-dark shrunken heads and orange beetles with my creepy crawlers thing maker. It's as if society was TRYING to fuck us up. My generation had no chance of growing up unscathed.

  • omg..watched this when i was a kid. Brings back memories :)

  • And to think, the only thing about this that seemed absurd to me when I was 6 was was why in the heck did the witch's broom have a stick like a B-17 bomber?

  • CLANDESTINE FHARMACY SET LIST set 1 meth song oopsie gurlz solo .AAA..>>burb >torn over her >>crankestine >>7.5 cc>>amped >>get high die free >>cocaine blues>>>jam jam jam half gram slam set 2 puf n stuf song >>2 spun 2 fuck >>white which #7>>meth song oopsie gurlz solo encore boo boo&oopsie ...tonight you belong to me dexter did a 25 min drum solo 7 31 2010

  • I used to watch this, Scooby Doo, The Banana Splits, and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters EVERY Saturday morning - LOVED these shows.

I feel sorry for my kids and every other kid who has to watch the garbage on TV now. Puf-N-Stuff ROCKS!

  • @OldCorpBLT13: Feel sorry for yourself-your kids are having a great time living NOW than living in their daddy's (or mommy's) shadow watching great toons like Grossology, Dora The Explorer, Ni Ho Kai Lan, Batman: The Brave & The Bold, 6 Teen, Stoked, Johnny Test, Sponge Bob Squarepants, Totally Spies, The Amazing Spiez, Kim Possible, Disney's Recess, Winx Club, Noonbury and The Super 7, Ben 10: Alien Force, The Proud Family, Fillmore, etc...while their dad/mom sits in a childish funk.

  • love this show !

  • i remember when VH1 showed all the episodes in a row one night a year or two ago and my dad freaked out. he was like GO WATCH THAT!! WE GREW UP WATCHING THAT SHOW1 ITS THE BEST1! so i stayed up all night to watch it.

the look on my dad's face when i had to reveal to him that i was all about smoking marijuana was so sad lol.when i sang the theme song for him, he was convinced and sad that his childhood show was about getting high.

other than that, its a GREAT show lol!!

  • I loved this show when I was little - I had such a crush on Jack Wild! This and all the Krofft brothers shows had me glued to the TV on Saturday mornings, along with American Bandstand and reruns of the

Monkees. Suddenly I feel very old...!

  • If I'm not mistaken, Jack Wild was actually 17 years old when this show first aired.

  • HR pufnstuf was a great show at its time and still is to me at least.

    Jim W.

  • No, crack was not available back then, but the truth is was based on marijuana, not crack. HR Puff n stuff? Does that ring a bell? Puff n stuff! I grew up back in that time and there was no crack available or may not had been invented back then. I am really that old!

  • H.R. Pufnstuf, The Banana Splits, oh my. I remember all of these. From the early to mid seventies. Yup, as kids in the '70's we may have had corny stuff, but it was alot better than the trash that's been on the TV the past twenty or so years.

  • set list for clandestine fharmacy meth song oopsie gurlz solo..1005 speed song >mothers little helper >dart of death> get high die free>i lost my street heart>all over now>2nd set h.r pufnstuf song >>it dont matter >amped >that chick took my speed>boo boo thanks for comein out and intos the band talks about the busts at shows>>fuck u mr D.E.A>we dont do that >cocaine >sweet leaf.. meth song oopsie gurlz solo no encore boo boo and dexter are way to spun to play any more 6 27 10

  • To Meisnat: People wrongly accuse the Kroffts of being high when conceiving their shows. The shows were actually a product of upbringing and craft. First, Sid and Marty were the sons of "carnies," and spent their childhood travelling with carnivals around Europe. What stories do you think you'd write if you were raised among bearded ladies, contortionists, magicians and glass eaters. Second, as you watch their catalogue, you'll notice they use the same plot devices in most of their shows.

  • i'm only 14 years old, and i watch that, here on Brazil, every Saturday 10:00 AM. It's amazing! I don't know what is, but i can't stop watching!

  • luv ja jack <3

  • omg, holy hell,i just had the most major flashback....damn,i am only 35,i must have been REALLY young, but i remember this show.

  • I do not think that crack was invented back then, just acid, cocaine, and marijuana. There were may great weird shows like these back then. If you think this was strange, try "Lidville" as that was the most strangest! But the 60's and 70's was a great time! I miss those day as it was fun to watch television back then.

  • im 14 and i would watch this show when i was little and this brought back so many memories!!!!

i love this show, so much better than the cartoons now!!

  • Wow !!! I have not seen this is in 30 years...

I would love for it to come back to TV

So My Girls can Watch it....

  • I was there every saturday morning, wondering what witchiepoo was going to do to them next

  • This show only aired one season in 1969 Why do people call it a 70s show??

  • There's a neighbor of ours that resembles Witchiepoo xD

Now I know where she got started.

  • longest intro ever...

  • RIP Jack Wild. Wish you were still around.

  • who cares about the name. i used to love this show!

  • This was show was subversive in a good way. It did not promote the use of drugs, and you a-holes who think otherwise are reading way too much into it. So what if "pufnstuf" is a veiled reference to marijuana? Did they tell kids to use drugs? No. But the show did stimulate the imagination and taught kids to resist abusive control-freaks like Witchiepoo.

  • What happen to the dinosaur's mouth at 0:59?? JackWild is good at dancing..RIP

  • I think Jack Wild kicks a piece of shit at the beginnning--------

  • Ill bet that while Jimmy was gone -his family didnt even notice that he was gone, let alone miss him .

  • Now that I am older I can't believe I used to watch this; great memories though!!

  • I wonder where they filmed this opening? what lake in CA? what mountain range in the opening shot?

  • Haha I loove this show!

And Jack Wild, of course! <3 :D

    R.I.P. Jack Wild.

  • I can't believe my parents let me watch this crap.

  • pass the hookah
