All you really need to know about this video is that it is a 12 year old boy singing one of his hero's songs live and straight from the soul. I think it's uncanny. His natural interpritation of the song is amazing for one so young.

Eric was born out of wedlock in a time when that was very much looked down on. He never met his father, who died a hobo in Canada. His grandmother brought him up to believe that his mother was actually his sister :/. His mother basically deserted him and moved to Canada with another man when he was young. His good friend SRV died when his helicopter crashed and his son fell out of the window of a New York apartment and was killed. He knows what tragedy feels like.

Not true. I grew up in a family of diverse music. My dad played in a country music band, my brother listened to rock 'n' roll/metal, and my sister listened to pop. I was the youngest, so what they all did, should have had an influence on me, right? Nope, I got into the blues on my own at the age of 16. I started actually playing guitar at the age of 18 - ON MY OWN. Not once did I ever hear Muddy Waters, or Son House, or even Ray Charles when I was growing up. I found that on my own.
