There's no way I can think of, since emotions are so much more powerful than rationality when they're fully engaged. All you can do is draw back from the discussion and hope for another time - which may or may not come. This is one of the reasons I'm glad Thunderf00t had this discussion, because it clearly and completely demonstrates the mental dichotomy between theists and non-theists.
Comfort's approach is seems to be always emotional... like many defending religious beliefs. I could give as many emotional reasons for not believing in God, but that doesn't make them a valid reason.

It made him read the bible and cross reference it against established science. He found the bible to be full or errors and inconsistancies.
