Everyone favours music from their teen years. For me that was the 80's. 90's was my twenties years so a very important era also, but the 80's music was far superior. STP when these guys broke was an awsome time but a shame grunge dominated the early 90's and killed off some great musical styles, including itself. These guys pushed through and it's all becoming popular again.
@tadawoosh I'd be hard pushed to agree with you. I feel that the more I listen to the 'alternative' rock from the 90's the better it sounds. Whereas, 80's music has been painful to listen since the 80's.
I think it's just nostalgia speaking. For me, a lot of '90s alt-rock has aged almost as poorly as '80s music, but not STP. Their stuff still holds up, eg. "Interstate Love Song", "Creep", "Sour Girl" and this one. But "No Excuses" by Alice in Chains, Faith No More, and anything by Pearl Jam is just painful to listen to now.
@themusicmatterz i listen to all types of music from every decade and i gotta say the 80s and 90s had the best music of all, i do like some 60s but seriously cant feel the vibe for ALL the songs from the 60s the way i do the 80s and 90s... and did you notice.. another decade gone and not one song to put on the amazing songs list... terrible
Are Slipknot a band because I think they are about the cheesiest group in the world. I clicked onto a STP song and found lots of Slipknot videos. Would someone explain to me the link because I think Slipknot belongs in the kiddie section of poor taste music?
"Plush" was the biggest commercial success of STP and a quintessential song from the glorious 90’s
A TIMELESS CLASSIC!
It combines a great guitar work, powerful drum beats, and an EPIC vocal performance.
Scott Weiland claims that the song’s lyrics were based on an article he’d read about a girl who’d been found dead outside of San Diego. He’s also said that the song's lyrics are a metaphor for a failed relationship.
The acoustic version of this song is equally awesome.
one of the most beautiful and greatest rock songs of all time !!! especially if you remember the girl he is talking about...... GOD BLESS SCOTT WEILAND !!!
am had bent a fan of metal all of my life i don,t like much alternative but i have to say that this group with nirvana pearl jamand the one who sing epic and coming to pieces play really good
