Well duh, Chinese are always planning for the future. My dad has always been planning for his old age retirement by amassing huge amounts of wealth, just in case I and my siblings won't take him in for one reason or another. I was a bit perplexed at first but he told me it's not that he doesn't trust me, it's just the Chinese way. Of course, I have every intention to fulfill my obligation as his son, families are important, after all. And there is no greater loyalties than filial piety.

China is set for an ecological disaster. They(within 10 years) became the largest polluter in the world(as of 2007), what took us 100s of years to establish, they did in 10. They're people are running out of water(fact:China is building the largest water system), their air quality is horrible, they can't even breeth without masks in most cities, and their farmland is being over-run by chemical infested water. I feel sorry for whoever lives in China that is not wealthy.
