I want America to succeed, that is why I am against Obama and the progressives that are attempting to destroy the United States economy. Vote out all progressives possible in each election cycle. Vote out all Rhino's in each election cycle. Let's put Uncle Sam back on its feet and give America back to the American people ! !
@robtramsey1 Yeah I hope so then life would be boring we need the GOP to show how stupid people really can be. I get so sick of this party of no shit that I have been with my wife for 14 years if her parents move in I will leave her. Im not going to sit there and listen to her father trash talk the president of the Unioted States and call him self the real american. I hope he knows that if the GOP takes over he will loose his VA pay and social sercurity.
@carnypimp First it is United States. The Progressives you love so much are destroying this economy. Second I hope your wife wakes up and kicks your foolish butt to the curb. Try reading, the healthcare bill they passed without knowing what it was is intelligent to you?? What a slug you are.
@xtaxplayer Lol that is why the republicans while in controll passed the tax cuts that crippled the economy long before 2006 when the Dems took over. Tax cuts= reuplicans downfall, health care= democrates down fall well since they both messed up who do you vote for? Who extended my unemployment the Democrates! Republicans are getting the boot for good.
@carnypimp Tax cut's have never crippled the economy. Prove your point, show a time were tax cuts have hurt the economy. Tax increases, government expansion and or increased government spending have always hurt the economy. Read, Think for yourself and learn.
@xtaxplayer 2005 gas went from 2.25 to almost $4.00 a gallon and that same point the Oil companies reported record profits. Job started to lay off in 2004 yet they had lost no money they sold out to the highest bidder becasue before the Tax Cut they was not near stable enough to sell out. Before the tax cuts a company that brings in a million a year barely get any profit but TC they get rich within a couple of years. Government expansion, sharing the wealth got us out of recession you read.
@carnypimp You are hilarious. Layoff"s started in 2004?? Nope in your contexted job layoff's started in 1929. Crude Oil prices rose in 2004, Who took over in 2004, OPEC cut production by 4.2 Million barrels. U.S. refused permits for pumping already existing wells, as they are doing in the Gulf now. Oil company record profit?? A profit of 9 cents per gallon. What is the profit on a pound of Baloney in the super market? 800%, or a profit of $2.40 at a price of $2.70 a lb. Try reading real info.
@xtaxplayer That was what they claimed it to be was record profits. Drilling more oil is fucking stupid unless it is someones back yard and it does not damage the environment. Democrates took over in 2006 so keep it up.
@carnypimp No their profits per gallon are documented unlike your statements. Try studying it will open your eyes. By the way smart one. What do you drive? Do you use electricity? Heat? A/C? then you use oil. How about clothes, or shoes? then you use oil. Wake up and learn for yourself. The school system lied to you.
@carnypimp What is to much? If it is to much no one would buy it. You pay a larger profit for your bag of potato chips then you do for oil. This is the problem with uneducated dolts, as you, they speak with out knowing and they make fools of themselves. Maybe you should break away from the lie's you were taught by Socialists and start learning for yourself. Or do you like being led around like a pig on a leash?? Read, Think, learn the Truth
@xtaxplayer People have no choice but to buy OIL because almost everything requires oil. Plastics, gas, lubricants, trash cans, many things require it. I worked for a plastic factory they paid the same price as any other business for the oil. Yet they had to take a loss on profits for plastic. The oil comapnies do not lose money the have almost everyone buy the balls. I may be undecated in spelling and grahmer but I have vaste knowledge about how the oil deal works out.
@carnypimp The issue with the company you work for is not the oil industry, but the free market system. If someone can produce it for less they get the business. The freemarket is a great system. But, if China (in example) can force people to work for pennies and other countries allow forced hourly rates well above the rates used by others to create the same products you will ultimately get the profit loss your company is seeing.
Don't hate the game (freemarket), hate the player (Forced labor)
@xtaxplayer No I hate big business because they are the root cause of Forced Labor. When it screw are economy up we have to become socialist to survive.
@carnypimp Were are you from? (Not America) Big Business is not the cause of forced labor. The biggest businesses have been in America. Where is the forced labor in the USA? The Union's are the Socialist intrusiveness on big business. Follow their history, the unions were founded by Communist's in the U.S. They pushed for socialized work forces to make the heads rich. Now they are destroying the economy just as planned.
I don't want you or anyone to just believe me, Read, Learn, know the Truth.
@xtaxplayer I live in Indiana. They buy factories in other countries wich have focred labor, like Wall Mart, Gm and so many others. There is no forced labor in the US wait no there is when you make 50k a year and your comapny up and decides you make to much they drop your pay almost to the point your homeless that is slavery. Luckily I work for a union. Unions are what brought us out of the great deppression. Lazy people are destroying what unions where ment for like the employees at GM.
@carnypimp There is not discussion when you speak with irrational terms such as: "There is forced labor in the U.S. when you make 50k a year, your company, decides you make to much and drops your pay almost to the point your homeless that is slavery." It explains a lot that you are in a union. Before you start your rant, I was in the iron workers union for 17 years. There are lazy people in all union shops, don't try to hide it. The 50K cost if to much would have to be dropped, that's business
@xtaxplayer Not when thats some rich sob loses 5k a year eveyones pay drops at 25k even when you have over 3k empoyees. I don't care what someone invester stands to lose take a cut then. I'm about done ranting but I will never sit back and let a party come in and do the same shit it did when Bush was in charge or worse cut government programs that work. 17 years great that is hard work that I can congradulate you on.
@carnypimp Bush? You think I'm a Republican? Of course you don't care about the free market, you were raised in the union to be a socialist, ie: "or worse cut government programs that work", you show me one government program that works efficiently. . . I'm waiting . . .
The Union's have helped to destroy to ability for Americans to afford and live comfortably. You are over paid for less work. Granted in some small areas the union standards are better, but the union doesn't even stand by them.
@carnypimp HA HA HA . . . Social Security is bankrupt, there is no money for you to retire on. Show me where your Social Security retirement is. . . Income Tax Returns . . . Really??? I know all Union workers aren't this uneducated. 1) because I was one, and . . . well . . . maybe they are. Income Tax Return is what you get back in "OVER PAYMENT"
I will stop talking to you if you aren't attempting to use facts in your ridiculous posts.
@xtaxplayer I get a tax return because I dont make what the 80k 90k people do. My dad gets Social Security retirement it is not even close to being banrupt. That social Sercurity being bankrupt is a lie that is why FOX news almost got shut down by law because all of there lies.
@carnypimp You are seriously lacking in the knowledge department aren't you. You get a refund because you over pay. Social Security?? Tell me O' intelligent one, how is that funded? You sound as though you either don't know or are not smart enough to understand how it works. But I guarantee all private financial annalist's will tell you it is a cash sieve, which is definitely not efficient. I can only hope you wake up before it is to late for America, you realize you get to vote. That is sad.
@carnypimp You are hilarious ! ! ! Earned Income Credit, means you are getting back more then you put in. In words you might understand: Duh, you are a union member on Welfare, Duh . . . How is the great union now, you pay due's to be on Welfare. My union's never had me in that situation. Guess the Union leaders just got greedier.
Let's see, if you have negative income and your solution is to spend your way out of it, then your a Stupid idiot. FYI. California, a BLUE state and it is as broke as anything can be broke. Two times already giving IOU's? Yea I really want to follow what Democrats have done. NOT!! oh yea, and NO. And please spare me the Governor is Republican, his sorry Bitch Ass is married to a Kennedy, so Fuck all of you that say he is Republican. Thats like saying Pelosi is a conservative!! LMAO
Fuck Democrats, er I mean communist progresive leaches! The only thing that Democrats know how to do is go to school for life. Everyone of them is a school professional whom has never held a real job. Communist, listen up, learn how to work hard, and come up with great ideas to better this world, and I promise you will make money. But please stop learning how to take my money to make your lazy ass constituents fat and dependent on my hard work.
you libs are all f-ked up. you should be pissed your messiah is giving tax breaks to the middle class and wants to tax the rich more. not only that, he wants to fix the econony. something even the GOP doesn't want to do. i mean Bush wrecked it we need to remember that remarkable party of his legacy. i mean, look at all the wonderful things he did for the u.s. and you commies/pinkos/homos/etc don't forget he made iraq/afghanistan a free country. we need that in africa. it's very unstable there.
Republicans, for your own sake, please move to Alaska and secede from the U.S. You can live your lives in peace there under the leadership of Palin while you wait for Armageddon to come. You can drill for oil up there and live your lives as Christians with uninteresting sex lives (unless your sex life is as a closeted homosexual). We liberals will leave you alone up there. Please, for your own sake...it's just better this way.
what a stupid ad. whats the liberal plan? can anyone tell me what good plan those idiots on the left have other than raising the hell out of taxes and making everyone poor!
You're obviously brainwashed by the NOP. My fiancee came to USA from a communist country. He was so happy to come here, worked so hard to get where he is, and became and American the right way, came here with an open mind and love for USA. He told me the Republicans are so much like the Communists in so many ways it is frightening. He wants nothing to do with them.
if the gop is so much like communism then why is it that socialist countries right now are trying to tell us how to run our economy? you got sweden france and others telling us how to run our economy. come on you're obviously brain washed by this messiah and the liberal party.
lol, stop drinking the kookaid, 7488. I used to be a koolaid-drinking republican just like you! but came to my senses YEARS before i ever met my fiance. as the song goes "i once was lost (like you) but now i see... amazing grace!" :) now your next remark you can tell me in person. Im in NOLA. where r u?
tell me please what good obama is doing for this economy nationalizing banks nationalizing health care threatening people with 90% tax on bonuses that were agreed on in the stimulus where's the good at in anything he does? he hasnt done a god damn thing thats good and you and i both know it look i was against the gop the last few years and the way they spent. when you dont have money you dont spend thats just common sense obama is going to spend more though then the first 43 presidents combined
Hey Buff, why didn't you reply to me on Think Progress Vid: "Gingrich: You're 'irrational' if you don't want the president to succeed" a week ago when i showed you that stock market went UP?
Oh BTW Obama has done more than GOP just by submitting a budget which ACTUALLY HAS NUMBERS BESIDES PAGE NUMBERS in it.
*sigh* as a med professional, i am saddened that med technology thwarted "survival of the fittest" by keeping around nonthinkers, who would have naturally faded into extinction, to allow them to reproduce and also to vote...
What are you afraid of? Obama is infinitely more qualified than you and light years smarter - AND has been in office 69 days! Allow him to do his job to undo 8 yrs of f-ups. If i hire you for a job, i'll fire you first day if you do not do 6 months of work that day.
Oh and PS... please, take a valium and lie down... calm down... relax.... :) i bet you're not really "buff" either. lol That is the Republican way, to cover nonsense with pretty names or packages. (just like their recent "budget" putting a pretty blue cover on nonsense. It looks pretty on the outside, but it's still pure foolishness on the inside.
I have a large mortgage. My wife and I work 2 Jobs each to keep our home. We do not expect handouts. We do not make excuses or blame bankers for lending us money. We did not take an interest only loan. And we are not getting a bailout because we are current and not eligible.
Propaganda is the dissemination of information aimed at influencing the opinions or behaviors of large numbers of people. As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. .
I love the way they slipped in a quick glimpse of reigning earmark queen Sarah Palin along with the rest of the Republican, if you will, "brain" trust.
And the moment of lovely silence (broken by chirping crickets) to illustrate the Republicans' alternative economic plan ... sheer genius. Though in reality, a sound clip of fake "populist" outrage by millionaire Chicago options traders on CNBC would probably be more accurate.
Sarah Palin, a vocal critic of earmarks, is governor of a state which is among the largest per-capita recipients of this form of federal funding. I'm sorry if you need this broken down into tiny parts.
How dare Congress believe the government is a better spender of my money than I am. The fact of the matter is that if more people were saving and/or investing their money instead of outspending their means, then the banks would have real money to lend. As it is now, inappropriately low interest rates and lending standards are encouraging more excessive spending. The stimulus package was a crap chute. (Now THAT was witty!)
So you want our country to fail? You make no sense at all my friend, you see if america fails, than you won't be able to sit at your pretty desk and have internet access that allows you to make ignorant remarks like that, because you'll be without a job and in debt.
The President's failure does not equal the country's failure. However, if the President succeeds at passing his agenda, America will fail because socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried.
well if the democrats caused this mess, then let them clean it up, at least they are trying to fix the economy I don't see any republican doing anything
The mess the Republicans created???????? Ahh, do the names Jimmy Carter, "BJ" Clinton, Barney Frank, aka "Barneys Frank", Chris Dodd, Hillary Rotten Clinton, OBama and Harry Reid sound familiar???? They are the ones responsible for pushing the community reinvestment act and these subprime loans! They should all be a in orange jump suits!
Propaganda. The Democrats are more responsible for this mess. Ever watch the hearings on Fannie and Freddie? Either the Dems in congress are liars or dumb...your choice.
Republicans can criticize Obama all they want, but at the end of the day they still won't have a single credible national leader. Michael Steele? A joke. Bobby Jindal? Sarah Palin? Romney? Don't make me laugh. None of these guys has popularity of more than 30-40% at most.
I'd love nothing more than Republicans to keep ranting about socialism and the birth certificate thing through the next election.
I like that so many people are actually falling for the White House's bullshit here.
Can you imagine if Bush had called Keith Olbermann the "leader of the Democratic party" or if he ran ads criticizing the Democrats for not voting on what he wants?
You said: "Can you imagine if Bush had called Keith Olbermann the "leader of the Democratic party" or if he ran ads criticizing the Democrats for not voting on what he wants?"
When was the last time DNC chairman or democratic senator apologized to Olbermann?
Did Olbermann or Michael Moore ever been invited as guest speaker in DNC?
People believe the current WH line about Rush Limbaugh because republican's actions support it.
Do you deny that this action taken by the White House is nothing more than a propaganda campaign to shift the focus off of them and onto the Republican party/Rush limbaugh which would ensure that they could basically do whatever they want?
I'm not a Republican. But I know when my government is bullshitting me.
You asked: "Do you deny that this action taken by the White House is nothing more than a propaganda campaign to shift the focus off of them and onto the Republican party."
When was the last time the WH ever mentioned Limbaugh again?
Propaganda or not does the GOP has a better alternative besides tax cuts?
"I'm not a Republican. But I know when my government is bullshitting me."
What BS?
The tax cuts to middle class in the stimulus?
The fact that ONLY THREE GOP SENATORS voted for it?
Obama said something along the lines of "stop listening to Rush Limbaugh" directed at the Republican party. Its kind of funny though because from what I understand these days he isnt too friendly to the GOP on his show.
Tax cuts to the middle class?! HAHAHA! HAHAHAHA! No dude were gonna be fucking paying for all his bullshit. I also like that the extra $13 we get a week will be TAXED next year. And we wont get to deduct our houses on our taxes. Jesus...I cant stand Obama.
Except the Republicans don't listen to Limbaugh. This is so funny...I feel bad for everyone who is still stuck in the fucking matrix and brainwashed by our Lord and Savior Obama. As a Libertarian I cannot stand Obama. I can't stand his big government agenda and it AMAZES ME that people like you come out to defend him. "Yes Mr. Government please fuck me up the ass with taxes! I LOVE IT!!!!"
I'd trust a goddamn comedian like Jon Stewart with the economy more than Obama.
Congratulations on finding one news story that kind of sort of supports your views.
But hey apparently you like big government and more taxes. We cant take of ourselves mr. government! Please come in and save us with more taxes and more control!
/Sarcasm is super lame and you cant be taken seriously when you come up with piss poor arguments like this. Fact: Obama means more taxes and bigger government. If you like that then we have NOTHING to discuss. Its not if he'll do it, it's when.
You said: "You'll see that the Libertarians and Conservatives were right"
*SIGH* I'm a PRO GUN PRO LIFE CONSERVATIVE.
However i'm not a "holier than thou" conservative nor am i a selfish person who whines about tax raise (I wouldn't volunteer to teach Indonesian locals English if i were).
Oh and if you don't believe the transparency you can check THE ENTIRE STIMULUS BILL AND HOW THEY WERE SPENT yourself on 3w (Dot) recovery (Dot) gov.
Also, you need to stop with the point-by-point quote-by-quote arguing. It's embarrassing.
Keep defending Obama if you love more taxes and bigger government.
Here's what you STILL don't get: This whole thing is a ploy by the Democrats and the White House to get the public's attention OFF of them and whatever they're doing and ON the Republicans. It's so sad to see people defend the government and defend Obama...Really sad.
Stop listening to Obama and start questioning him.
@nutmaniv What the hell here we go another consperacy theory. We don't have jobs and life sucks because of tax cuts if you don't belive me look up tax cuts better look up fair tax thats what the gop wants. Fair tax- takes away icome tax returns for the low class and middle, you have to spend $100 at a time be taxed 30% then get back 20% at the end of the year and that only includes money spent at stores not your utlities and rent or house payment.
I've pointed out that economic growth under FDR was incredible, in fact there has been no president since that had as high an average GDP growth he had (almost 4% a year), and there has been no president EVER to have growth as long lasting as he had. Those are facts, now am I supposed to be impressed if you baselessly claim growth would have been stronger in an alternative reality? No because you have nothing by which to back that up.
"So he came up with a recovery package that would be unimaginable today, allowing businesses in every industry to collude without the threat of antitrust prosecution and workers to demand salaries about 25 percent above where they ought to have been, given market forces. The economy was poised for a beautiful recovery, but that recovery was stalled by these misguided policies."
"The economy was poised for a beautiful recovery, but that recovery was stalled by these misguided policies."
I mean honestly you're going to come up here with hypothetical history (poised for a beautiful recovery) that frankly sounds ridiculous as a credible critique? Please.
You cons don't have a leg to stand on that's why these kind of pathetic excuses is all you have. Like some idiot in the audience lecturing Michael Phelps on his Olympic performance.
Now I'm a conservative? HAHAH oh your liberals aren't any different from conservatives. who can't state the truth because I'm not an economist. If you think appeal to authority or ad hominem arguments count as refuting my retorts then you're just a typical partisan hack.
What retorts? There's a difference between arguments and statements, If I say the sky is blue but you say it is pink that's not a retort. Appeals to authority? Hello who is so proud to announce the amazing "UCLA professor" you're being quite ironic here.
I'm not appealing to authority. I'm only giving you what you want since listening to me isn't an option. I guess anyone who doesn't agree with your rigid views says that the sky is pink, so to speak. You can keep believing in FDR's New Deal and his support of unions and safety net funds being stimulus for the economy. The future doesn't look any brighter. I'm sure the economy is going bolster itself with the Drug War or frivolous federal program.
"I'm not appealing to authority. I'm only giving you what you want since listening to me isn't an option."
Yes it is, you just have to provide compelling arguments.
I say FDR was good on economics, he had 4% growth a year about twice as much as Reagan and more than any other president. You say I am wrong because? Look you can't expect me to take your opinions at face value they are supposed to be derived from fact.
Seens I got my numbers wrong. Average growth under FDR was closer to 8% a year. And there was one single president to have stronger numbers than that, and that was Truman.
FDR Treasury Secretary Henry Morgenthau admitted the New Deal had failed. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work, he declared in 1939. We have never made good on our promises...I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started...And an enormous debt to boot!
That and the unconstitutional NIRA. The depression would have ended in the mid 1930s if it were not for FDR's crap.
.... How on earth is 5.2 % growth failure? What kind of moronic hypocrite do you have to be to declare 2% growth under Reagan is success and 5.2% growth under FDR is failure? In 1939 FDR had just pulled back on the new deal and the economy immediately pulled back, but it did not end in 1939. Unemployment was 10% lower in 36 than it was 3 years earlier, it was 2% when FDR died.
It depends on your reference point. Under Regan it was a different economic time period. By referencing the last 1000 years you could say that there was economic growth so there's the flaw. FDR went into overdrive with Hoover policies, which led us into the depression. Since the stock market fell by 80 something percent, baking 13 cookies the next year and then 16 the year after instead of 100 is pathetic. I'm arguing that FDR prolonged the depression and already backed up my argument.
"It depends on your reference point. Under Regan it was a different economic time period. "
Except that if you put a trend line trough the roaring twenties GDP overtakes that trend line in the mid 40s at the end of FDR's term. That is amazing considering the 'roaring 20s' was a bubble. So your entire argument is moot. FDR's growth was far stronger than Reagan, same with Truman, JFK, LBJ and Clinton.
*to be fair growth was only far stronger under Truman, Johnson and perhaps Clinton. JFK only had slightly stronger growth than Reagan. Nixon also had SLIGHTLY stronger growth.
the republican "plan" of tax cuts will never make any sense in this economy unless we also cut federal spending like 50%. most republicans, i'm afraid, aren't prepared to part with their big government ways just yet. they are not prepared to take a stand against our trillion dollar per year empire. so, don't hold your breath for workable ideas... they ain't comin.
Republicants ignore the fact that they are the reason we are in this mess and ignore the fact that economists say that in the mess that we are today we cant afford not to do anything. If we follow the republican plan then you are looking a deflation then a depression.
Dodge, you dont' read the papers much I guess. 300 of the top economists in the nation took out an ad in the NY Times telling Obama his plan WON'T work.
Hey, guess what everybody!....The obummer administration said today that our economy is "fundamentally sound"! This, just after last week saying we were in crisis, crisis, crisis! Don't worry be happy!....LOL
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think it's important for all Republicans to support Sarah Palin for the 2012 presidential nomination. That way we can kick the ever-loving shit out of you in the next election too! Maybe you can get Jindal to be the VP choice while you're at it, although I would prefer you save him for the 2016 nomination so we can defeat you utterly yet again.
Welcome to politics, but no it's not that the details are lacking. There is NO republican plan whatsoever. They are just more concerned with getting out of the political wilderness than doing what is right for America.
O, I'm sorry. Maybe I was imagining it when the republicans didn't want to pass a huge spending bill and did want to lower taxes, whereas the democrats want to spend money and raise taxes (Obama wants to balance the budget in 4 years) , which, if you know anything about fiscal policy, does nothing. But perhaps my education and news sources (even the president himself) utterly lied to me, and therefore I cannot make a valid judgment on the President's behalf.
Yeah either that or you're a bit slow witted. That was the stimulus bill (which cut taxes not raised them moron), this is the budget. These two things are not the same. Like apples and oranges!
You see, you're assuming I'm slow witted and passing off your ill-contrived argument as intelligence hoping that you can convince some retard browsing YouTube. You are right: the "stimulus bill" is not part of the physical budget, the specific document that is released annually, but it is part of the budget by nature in that it SPENDS MONEY. If you declare them "not the same" all you are doing is arguing semantics (not that that argument is even valid as I just corrected your error).
You are slow witted, you responding to this video claimed there was a republican alternative. There isn't this is about the BUDGET! Which is an entirely different animal than a stimulus bill, a stimulus bill is incidental a budget is structural and has far wider implications.
Oh! Come on! You don't even know the meaning of the words you are using. Wit is about rhetoric, mental or verbal, not intelligence. Anyway, what I am arguing is that a budget, in general, is a plan for expenses over a period of time that usually incorporates revenues. Because the stimulus bill was an expenditure of the U.S., it is therefore part of its budget. Obama promises to balance the budget in 4 years, which, if you do the math, requires him to raise taxes. (cont.)
The combination of the two, in theory, does nothing to stimulate the economy in general, only specific sectors, which is why some say it is a redistribution of the wealth. If the republicans had their way, they would have never passed the stimulus bill, which makes it easier to balance the budget (if necessary), and SO (your semantics argument:) their proposal for the U.S. Annual Budget would include lower taxes, thus an ALTERNATIVE PLAN. (cont.)
But since the democrats care more about their social policies than fixing the economy, they messed everything up for all of us and that is the reason people SAY there is no republican plan.
If you can't understand the concept of fiscal policy, don't bother arguing back: you will only embarrass yourself.
You are a horrible bullshit merchant. I don't think I've seen this pathetic circular logic in quite some time. The budget and stimulus are two different things no matter how much you want them to be the same to win an argument... Idiot.
Btw I know the meaning of every word I use and English isn't even my first language so I'm not sure what it is you find so difficult.
I never once, said that they are the same things. Take time to read what I say. Instead of rating it down before you read. You are not looking at these agendas the same way I am. I am looking at the context. You are only looking at what you want to make your point, not for logic's sake, i.e. my point above.
By the way, the term "slow witted" (should use a hyphen) in English would mean that I am a passive speaker/thinker. If I were "slow witted," I would find it difficult to postulate a response.
I'm sorry, I guess your extent of learning words is in the dictionary. Wit alone can be used to describe mental capacity in general, although that is a very archaic meaning, and that use is only still found in idioms. A more correct meaning would be "a form of intellectual humor that uses sarcasm, rhetoric, and other forms of wordplay." This is especially true when you pair it with "slow" (or "quick"). Your citation, by its size, is obviously some clerical error in that it is not specific.
What a brilliant statement! Perhaps you should attend a political science class... Perhaps that would leave you in less danger of underestimating your opposition...
Listen you fucktard, I did not use the word wit, I said 'dim-witted' in which wit takes on a different meaning than on it's own. The fact that you can't even man up to your semantic bullshit being WRONG even after a dictionary (or any dictionary actually) having proven you wrong is just the most pathetic thing I've ever witnessed to be honest.
Thanks, KG... I was afraid I was the only one left who knew how to use a real dictionary. JPB obviously only knows how to use abbreviated, online versions that fail to present subtle differentiations.
You said: "The stimulus didn't cut taxes, at least not for those of us who actually pay them.."
Really?
Does this mean you're one of the people who make more than $250.000 or that people who make less than that don't pay taxes in your opinion?
My advice:
If you're against something or someone you better based your opposition on what that something or someone really is not what you (Wrongly) think it is.
If you'd listen to something besides what "they" are saying, you would know that the Republicans did have plans to offer... Nazi Pelosi and Hitler Reid were just so afraid of losing the debate that they silenced the opposition.
We've had the largest deficit in US history every year now. So how is that remarkable? Do you realize we're in a near depression right now? That hasn't been true when republicans were giving us record deficits all trough Reagan, Bush Sr and Bush jr.
Listen Paultard, I do not share your ideals so your cynicism doesn't apply to me. I'd be very happy with an FDR, JFK or even Bill Clinton. I know what I want it's you who's lost.
Hah! I think RP is ignorant in terms of Middle Eastern knowledge, foreign policy and even aspects of history. I am also an Anti Theist. Hmm so many things to say about about those three president. FDR being the one who prolonged the depression and that is stated even on the ACLU's website. Obama supports the Drug War and Patriot Act. Fat chance he's going to obviate the CIA and the TSA. BOO OBAMA!
What do I care whether you're an anti theist? Even people who don't believe in god can be morons and you're the proof.
"FDR being the one who prolonged the depression" hmm who to listen to some youtube bum 'expert' who doesn't know the first thing about econ 101 or nobel winning economists and analysts who predicted this and previous crisis. That's a toughie. The economy expanded every single year except 1938 under FDR up to three times as much as it did under for example that dunce Reagan.
You've already dumbed down with conversation with Straw man Arguments and Appeal to Authority. I guess no prestigious economists oppose your view on the matters though. On 20/20 a couple of days ago showed that that's false.
"President Roosevelt believed that excessive competition was responsible for the Depression by reducing prices and wages, and by extension reducing employment and demand for goods and services," said Cole, also a UCLA professor of economics.
What do I care what some backwash UCLA professor has to say? The only academically credible critique of FDR until now had been that of Friedman. However his critique was actually indirect and more focused on the Fed and arguing that the fed could have prevented it and recovery would have been better and swifter that way than what happened under FDR. This argument however has gone out the window now what interest rates are 0% and monetarist like Friedman have been proven wrong.
Since Sarah Palin is not allowed to offer suggestions to the WH, she is attending to business at home, where Alaska is running in the black. She is not breaking the backs of our residents with unwarranted spending and taxation.
Perhaps if General Pelosi and her ilk would allow the conservatives input, the horrendous debt would not have happened! I would like to start over, can we have 'overs' and elect someone with a conscience?
Must be hard to balance the budget when the vast majority of Alaska is wilderness and frozen tundra. And you have billions from oil revenue.
And tell me its not socialism to get a check in the mail every year from state government because of the oil.sounds exactly what Hugo Chavez is doing in Venezuela.
Chavez takes oil money for the government to use as it pleases. Alaska compensates the people of the state for the usage of their land and resources. Chavez funds his oppressive government with the resources of the people's land.
No,Alaska is redistributing the wealth of the natural resources .sounds to me like nationalization on a state level.
If California had the same population as Alaska, then decided to nationalize the agricultural businesses there.I'm sure they could balance their budget too and distribute checks to every resident like Alaska does with oil.
So if Sarah Palin is such a fiscal genius lets see her tackle a state that has millions of people, with massive infrastructure to upkeep.
"erhaps if General Pelosi and her ilk would allow the conservatives input, the horrendous debt would not have happened!"
Are you a retard? A good 99% of the debt we currently have has been at the hands of conservatives, heck without liberal Bill Clinton it would have been even higher than it is.
Since when did Governor Palin have anything to do with the federal budget. It is not her job to offer solutions or alternatives to the federal budget. She is not in Congress, she has no vote. So why target and blame her. Obama must be really frightened of her to be running campaign ads this far out from 2012. The ad is a lame attempt to distract and spin the fact that Obama and his team of crooks and tax cheats are leading America into a financial abyss with his socialists schemes.
The funniest part of this video was "THE MESS THEY CREATED"...
- Soooo, Nancie and Harry weren't running Congress for the last two years?
- Obama really didn't just commit 1.5 Trillion dollars of new spending hoping my grandchildren will pay that bill? ($375B in TARP II, $787B in porkulus, and the last $410B in "last year's business")
Who are these idiots trying to fool?
Oh yeah. they're trying to fool the American voter...so maybe they will succeed.

What a slug you are.
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer Lol that is why the republicans while in controll passed the tax cuts that crippled the economy long before 2006 when the Dems took over. Tax cuts= reuplicans downfall, health care= democrates down fall well since they both messed up who do you vote for? Who extended my unemployment the Democrates! Republicans are getting the boot for good.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp Tax cut's have never crippled the economy. Prove your point, show a time were tax cuts have hurt the economy. Tax increases, government expansion and or increased government spending have always hurt the economy. Read, Think for yourself and learn.
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer 2005 gas went from 2.25 to almost $4.00 a gallon and that same point the Oil companies reported record profits. Job started to lay off in 2004 yet they had lost no money they sold out to the highest bidder becasue before the Tax Cut they was not near stable enough to sell out. Before the tax cuts a company that brings in a million a year barely get any profit but TC they get rich within a couple of years. Government expansion, sharing the wealth got us out of recession you read.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp You are hilarious. Layoff"s started in 2004?? Nope in your contexted job layoff's started in 1929. Crude Oil prices rose in 2004, Who took over in 2004, OPEC cut production by 4.2 Million barrels. U.S. refused permits for pumping already existing wells, as they are doing in the Gulf now. Oil company record profit?? A profit of 9 cents per gallon. What is the profit on a pound of Baloney in the super market? 800%, or a profit of $2.40 at a price of $2.70 a lb. Try reading real info.
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer That was what they claimed it to be was record profits. Drilling more oil is fucking stupid unless it is someones back yard and it does not damage the environment. Democrates took over in 2006 so keep it up.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp No their profits per gallon are documented unlike your statements. Try studying it will open your eyes. By the way smart one. What do you drive? Do you use electricity? Heat? A/C? then you use oil. How about clothes, or shoes? then you use oil. Wake up and learn for yourself. The school system lied to you.
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer I know I use oil but in no way should I pay extra when they are banking.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp What is to much? If it is to much no one would buy it. You pay a larger profit for your bag of potato chips then you do for oil. This is the problem with uneducated dolts, as you, they speak with out knowing and they make fools of themselves. Maybe you should break away from the lie's you were taught by Socialists and start learning for yourself. Or do you like being led around like a pig on a leash?? Read, Think, learn the Truth
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer People have no choice but to buy OIL because almost everything requires oil. Plastics, gas, lubricants, trash cans, many things require it. I worked for a plastic factory they paid the same price as any other business for the oil. Yet they had to take a loss on profits for plastic. The oil comapnies do not lose money the have almost everyone buy the balls. I may be undecated in spelling and grahmer but I have vaste knowledge about how the oil deal works out.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp The issue with the company you work for is not the oil industry, but the free market system. If someone can produce it for less they get the business. The freemarket is a great system. But, if China (in example) can force people to work for pennies and other countries allow forced hourly rates well above the rates used by others to create the same products you will ultimately get the profit loss your company is seeing.
Don't hate the game (freemarket), hate the player (Forced labor)
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer No I hate big business because they are the root cause of Forced Labor. When it screw are economy up we have to become socialist to survive.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp Were are you from? (Not America) Big Business is not the cause of forced labor. The biggest businesses have been in America. Where is the forced labor in the USA? The Union's are the Socialist intrusiveness on big business. Follow their history, the unions were founded by Communist's in the U.S. They pushed for socialized work forces to make the heads rich. Now they are destroying the economy just as planned.
I don't want you or anyone to just believe me, Read, Learn, know the Truth.
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer I live in Indiana. They buy factories in other countries wich have focred labor, like Wall Mart, Gm and so many others. There is no forced labor in the US wait no there is when you make 50k a year and your comapny up and decides you make to much they drop your pay almost to the point your homeless that is slavery. Luckily I work for a union. Unions are what brought us out of the great deppression. Lazy people are destroying what unions where ment for like the employees at GM.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp There is not discussion when you speak with irrational terms such as: "There is forced labor in the U.S. when you make 50k a year, your company, decides you make to much and drops your pay almost to the point your homeless that is slavery." It explains a lot that you are in a union. Before you start your rant, I was in the iron workers union for 17 years. There are lazy people in all union shops, don't try to hide it. The 50K cost if to much would have to be dropped, that's business
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer Not when thats some rich sob loses 5k a year eveyones pay drops at 25k even when you have over 3k empoyees. I don't care what someone invester stands to lose take a cut then. I'm about done ranting but I will never sit back and let a party come in and do the same shit it did when Bush was in charge or worse cut government programs that work. 17 years great that is hard work that I can congradulate you on.
carnypimp 1 year ago

I will stop talking to you if you aren't attempting to use facts in your ridiculous posts.
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer I get a tax return because I dont make what the 80k 90k people do. My dad gets Social Security retirement it is not even close to being banrupt. That social Sercurity being bankrupt is a lie that is why FOX news almost got shut down by law because all of there lies.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp You are seriously lacking in the knowledge department aren't you. You get a refund because you over pay. Social Security?? Tell me O' intelligent one, how is that funded? You sound as though you either don't know or are not smart enough to understand how it works. But I guarantee all private financial annalist's will tell you it is a cash sieve, which is definitely not efficient. I can only hope you wake up before it is to late for America, you realize you get to vote. That is sad.
xtaxplayer 1 year ago
@xtaxplayer I get EIC (earned income credit) with my refund wich to many of the higher paid call a entitlement.
carnypimp 1 year ago
@carnypimp You are hilarious ! ! ! Earned Income Credit, means you are getting back more then you put in. In words you might understand: Duh, you are a union member on Welfare, Duh . . . How is the great union now, you pay due's to be on Welfare. My union's never had me in that situation. Guess the Union leaders just got greedier.

Propaganda is the dissemination of information aimed at influencing the opinions or behaviors of large numbers of people. As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. .
dencal26 2 years ago
Very nicely done!
It's clear who's winning the war of wits today.

Now I'm a conservative? HAHAH oh your liberals aren't any different from conservatives. who can't state the truth because I'm not an economist. If you think appeal to authority or ad hominem arguments count as refuting my retorts then you're just a typical partisan hack.
RessurectedPenguin 2 years ago 3
What retorts? There's a difference between arguments and statements, If I say the sky is blue but you say it is pink that's not a retort. Appeals to authority? Hello who is so proud to announce the amazing "UCLA professor" you're being quite ironic here.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
I'm not appealing to authority. I'm only giving you what you want since listening to me isn't an option. I guess anyone who doesn't agree with your rigid views says that the sky is pink, so to speak. You can keep believing in FDR's New Deal and his support of unions and safety net funds being stimulus for the economy. The future doesn't look any brighter. I'm sure the economy is going bolster itself with the Drug War or frivolous federal program.
RessurectedPenguin 2 years ago 2
@Penguin
Look you can't expect me to take your opinions at face value they are supposed to be derived from fact.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
Seens I got my numbers wrong. Average growth under FDR was closer to 8% a year. And there was one single president to have stronger numbers than that, and that was Truman.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
It was actually 5.2 percent.
RessurectedPenguin 2 years ago 2
Unemployment was 10% lower in 36 than it was 3 years earlier, it was 2% when FDR died.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
It depends on your reference point. Under Regan it was a different economic time period. By referencing the last 1000 years you could say that there was economic growth so there's the flaw. FDR went into overdrive with Hoover policies, which led us into the depression. Since the stock market fell by 80 something percent, baking 13 cookies the next year and then 16 the year after instead of 100 is pathetic. I'm arguing that FDR prolonged the depression and already backed up my argument.
RessurectedPenguin 2 years ago
"It depends on your reference point. Under Regan it was a different economic time period. "
Except that if you put a trend line trough the roaring twenties GDP overtakes that trend line in the mid 40s at the end of FDR's term. That is amazing considering the 'roaring 20s' was a bubble. So your entire argument is moot. FDR's growth was far stronger than Reagan, same with Truman, JFK, LBJ and Clinton.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
*to be fair growth was only far stronger under Truman, Johnson and perhaps Clinton. JFK only had slightly stronger growth than Reagan. Nixon also had SLIGHTLY stronger growth.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
the republican "plan" of tax cuts will never make any sense in this economy unless we also cut federal spending like 50%. most republicans, i'm afraid, aren't prepared to part with their big government ways just yet. they are not prepared to take a stand against our trillion dollar per year empire. so, don't hold your breath for workable ideas... they ain't comin.
dv416 2 years ago
Republicants ignore the fact that they are the reason we are in this mess and ignore the fact that economists say that in the mess that we are today we cant afford not to do anything. If we follow the republican plan then you are looking a deflation then a depression.

U.S. market rally holds on.
BTW regardless of who's more responsible for the economic mess does the GOP has a better idea BESIDES TAX CUTS?
Besides the tax cuts already exist in the bill Obama passed so it's a moot point.

so the argument here is, "if your plan doesn't have details, my plan must be right"?
KrunchyGoodness 2 years ago
@Krunchy
Welcome to politics, but no it's not that the details are lacking. There is NO republican plan whatsoever. They are just more concerned with getting out of the political wilderness than doing what is right for America.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
O, I'm sorry. Maybe I was imagining it when the republicans didn't want to pass a huge spending bill and did want to lower taxes, whereas the democrats want to spend money and raise taxes (Obama wants to balance the budget in 4 years) , which, if you know anything about fiscal policy, does nothing. But perhaps my education and news sources (even the president himself) utterly lied to me, and therefore I cannot make a valid judgment on the President's behalf.
KrunchyGoodness 2 years ago 2
@Kruncy
Yeah either that or you're a bit slow witted. That was the stimulus bill (which cut taxes not raised them moron), this is the budget. These two things are not the same. Like apples and oranges!
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
You see, you're assuming I'm slow witted and passing off your ill-contrived argument as intelligence hoping that you can convince some retard browsing YouTube. You are right: the "stimulus bill" is not part of the physical budget, the specific document that is released annually, but it is part of the budget by nature in that it SPENDS MONEY. If you declare them "not the same" all you are doing is arguing semantics (not that that argument is even valid as I just corrected your error).
KrunchyGoodness 2 years ago 3
@Krunchy
You are slow witted, you responding to this video claimed there was a republican alternative. There isn't this is about the BUDGET! Which is an entirely different animal than a stimulus bill, a stimulus bill is incidental a budget is structural and has far wider implications.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
Oh! (cont.)
KrunchyGoodness 2 years ago
The combination of the two, in theory, does nothing to stimulate the economy in general, only specific sectors, which is why some say it is a redistribution of the wealth. If the republicans had their way, they would have never passed the stimulus bill, which makes it easier to balance the budget (if necessary), and SO (your semantics argument:) their proposal for the U.S. Annual Budget would include lower taxes, thus an ALTERNATIVE PLAN. (cont.)
KrunchyGoodness 2 years ago
But since the democrats care more about their social policies than fixing the economy, they messed everything up for all of us and that is the reason people SAY there is no republican plan.
If you can't understand the concept of fiscal policy, don't bother arguing back: you will only embarrass yourself.
KrunchyGoodness 2 years ago
@Krunch
You are a horrible bullshit merchant. I don't think I've seen this pathetic circular logic in quite some time. The budget and stimulus are two different things no matter how much you want them to be the same to win an argument... Idiot.
Btw I know the meaning of every word I use and English isn't even my first language so I'm not sure what it is you find so difficult.
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
I never once, said that they are the same things. Take time to read what I say. Instead of rating it down before you read. You are not looking at these agendas the same way I am. I am looking at the context. You are only looking at what you want to make your point, not for logic's sake, i.e. my point above.
By the way, the term "slow witted" (should use a hyphen) in English would mean that I am a passive speaker/thinker. If I were "slow witted," I would find it difficult to postulate a response.
KrunchyGoodness 2 years ago
"slow-witted"
"mentally slow"
-Webster
Got anymore semantic bullshit you wish to peddle?
jpbalkenende 2 years ago
I'm sorry, I guess your extent of learning words is in the dictionary. Wit alone can be used to describe mental capacity in general, although that is a very archaic meaning, and that use is only still found in idioms. A more correct meaning would be "a form of intellectual humor that uses sarcasm, rhetoric, and other forms of wordplay." This is especially true when you pair it with "slow" (or "quick"). Your citation, by its size, is obviously some clerical error in that it is not specific.

AKPiney 2 years ago 5
Must be hard to balance the budget when the vast majority of Alaska is wilderness and frozen tundra. And you have billions from oil revenue.
And tell me its not socialism to get a check in the mail every year from state government because of the oil.sounds exactly what Hugo Chavez is doing in Venezuela.
surferray69 2 years ago
Chavez takes oil money for the government to use as it pleases. Alaska compensates the people of the state for the usage of their land and resources. Chavez funds his oppressive government with the resources of the people's land.
MMCasi 2 years ago
No,Alaska is redistributing the wealth of the natural resources .sounds to me like nationalization on a state level.
If California had the same population as Alaska, then decided to nationalize the agricultural businesses there.I'm sure they could balance their budget too and distribute checks to every resident like Alaska does with oil.
So if Sarah Palin is such a fiscal genius lets see her tackle a state that has millions of people, with massive infrastructure to upkeep.

"erhaps if General Pelosi and her ilk would allow the conservatives input, the horrendous debt would not have happened!"
