Totally agree. The variety in Prototype just can't be beat. Plus, as both games seem to basically be power fantasies, personal opinion, Prototype's strutting, tank-crushing protagonist pulls it off better than Infamous's somewhat-standard platformer shooty-guy. Although, this is based entirely on the first half hour of both games; I don't own a PS3 OR an Xbox. However, Prototype came out on Steam recently, so I suppose I'll try it there... why Infamous is marketed so scarcely, I don't know.
For a lot of the reasons you say make Prototype better, infamous is exactly the same. When you talked about the story of each, you forgot to mention that Cole too woke up with no memory of what happened. "Jump down from a 30 story building, turn your arms into blades, and killed about 30 people, form a shield to protect you" free DLC for Cole's gigawatt blades does the exact same thing, and he has a shield power. I like Infamous, but I'm not going to tell anyone else they have to.

inFamous is a fun game with good dialogue and story. Prototype is fun, but has a poor, non creative, and muddled storyline. Prototype is also known for its embarrassingly cheesy one liners written to make Alex seem bad-ass, but does the exact opposite. In short, I think inFamous is more for those who are into story complexity, and Prototype is more for the middle schooler and fraternity boy crowd.

I played both games one after the other to compare them (first playtrough every both cases), and I found [Prototype] to have a city reacting way better to the Mercer's action, in comparison to the inFamous in wich the city doesn't have such an impact.
@elroid and about the graphics i have to admit that both games could have better graphics, they improved that in inFAMOUS 2 and hopefully will do the same in Prototype 2.
and for infamous, the good parts are that the story is much more better, the prototype one is so simple but for infamous, it is a mind blowing wonderful story. But I have to admit that infamous traveling ways are so damn slow compared to prototype. So I think both are great in their own ways and I like infamous a little bit better.
I know that graphics don't make a game but that doesn't make infamous a bad game, you are helping prototype, you just turn down all the fucking good things of infamous. and you only mentioned the good things of protoype, not the bad and only the bad parts for infamous. You didn't talk about how fucking boring prototype gets when you are up to the end cause all the missions are the same, kill, run, consume, I ain't saying prototype is a bad game but that is the truth.
Who cares what the reviewers think, theirs is just an opinion. If the majority thinks a game is better than other doesn't mean it's a fact, because its completely relative. But I wish InFamous was for PC so I could play both.

I've played prototype, but not infamousd. Alas, I think the whole problem with the prototype vs infamous has two major key points that made infamous better in many people's eyes.
Hype. I remember few commercial's for prototype, and very little in magazines. I found out about it because people were talking about infamous.
Parkour. People consider the character in infamous better because he can parkour from place to place instead of just jumping to it makes it a more interesting game play.
let me just say l was a prototype fanboy before it came out. but when l played it, it just turned out to be the hulk again. same gameplay. cliche story. l discovered infamous completely by mistake and loved it.

They are both EXCELLENT games, but i go with prototype in this argument any day. Reason why is bc Alex Mercer (Prototype) is the one of the most POWERFUL in the gaming world period. If uve played the game you know he could do absolutely anything he wants without any trouble. Cole is really cool too, and has amazing abilities as well. However, he lacks so much in power, adding limitation to his "limitless" abilities. Still great games both of them

i totally agree that graphics dont make a game. I find gameplay much more important.
but i really dont understand the infamous vs prototype debate. But games are now very cheap so why not by them both? there is no need to be specific for one of the two. If you like only prototype/infamous, the play the one you like and dont bother other people who have a different opinion.
I like infamous more, but just because its more my game. I really dig those electrical powers. but prototype is fun also.

infamous = 2 shots and you're dead, you can't sprint in a big city ¬¬, to recover your health you have to steal energy (serseriously?), i like infamous but i prefer prototype becouse: you survive a giant vagina (Greene), tanks, helicopters and more shit; you can steal tanks and helicopters, you can use weapons, a lots of powers, a lot of blood, you run like a ferrari and have a better history

inFamous may have better stuff and graphics...
But [Prototype] have a great history.
I played both games one after the other to compare them (first playtrough every both cases), and I found [Prototype] to have a city reacting way better to the Mercer's action, in comparison to the inFamous in wich the city doesn't have such an impact.
Still I liked both games,

and for infamous, the good parts are that the story is much more better, the prototype one is so simple but for infamous, it is a mind blowing wonderful story. But I have to admit that infamous traveling ways are so damn slow compared to prototype. So I think both are great in their own ways and I like infamous a little bit better.

the story 4 infamous is more engaging, u barely explained it, its far more complex and cole is a much better more likable character than alex will ever be, i hav both n i find it difficult to pik a side, the gameplay 4 both is incredible, completely different, infamous graphics r cartoony but look great, prototype looks worse, powerwise i prefer alexs but coles r very unique n fun to try, i got more attached to infamous as i got it first n i even cried at the end of inFAMOUS 2. i luv both of em

I've played prototype, but not infamousd. Alas, I think the whole problem with the prototype vs infamous has two major key points that made infamous better in many people's eyes.
Hype. I remember few commercial's for prototype, and very little in magazines. I found out about it because people were talking about infamous.
Parkour. People consider the character in infamous better because he can parkour from place to place instead of just jumping to it makes it a more interesting game play.

They are both EXCELLENT games, but i go with prototype in this argument any day. Reason why is bc Alex Mercer (Prototype) is the one of the most POWERFUL in the gaming world period. If uve played the game you know he could do absolutely anything he wants without any trouble. Cole is really cool too, and has amazing abilities as well. However, he lacks so much in power, adding limitation to his "limitless" abilities. Still great games both of them

They're probably gonna say darksiders because tron: evolution was made by disney interactive, which only had 4 years of experience making video games, while Darksiders was produced by THQ, which has over 2 decades of experience in gaming.
