WOW! I was worried that DL&Q would have a hard time replacing Darrin Beachley. But, wow This new lead singer I think is incredible! Doyle always has way of getting the best in the businnes and this new lead singer is no exception by no means!
i heartily agree. though i dig darrin, this cat really gets that high and lonesome sound down. heard him on prairie home companion and i was like, who in the world is that?
because he couldnt do the runs and fills with time and with ease like he could on electric...plus Doyle's sound is best with an electric keeping that Mountain hop poppin
Come to think of it you're right. The runs are easier to do on an electric or acoustic electric which is what I play. And Doyle does sound good with one. He didn't have an upright until 1995 when Dale Perry stepped in.
yeah...I was with Doyle for awhile during Barry Scotts vocal troubles...and I played both on stage and also Barry did for awhile too...but even Doyle agrees that his type of secular Bluegrass needs a electric sound to keep the bottom end driving...Upright sounds good on his more tame Gospel stuff.....are U a musician too?? I noticed the screen name..
Oh, this just great!

Doyle doesn't look to happy with that guy singing tenor and all of his fancy little "tricks," he got a dirty look or 2...

Good music. Too bad the camera person isn't clear on the concept of filming the instrument and person doing the solos.

I'm not sure, but I don't think this is even the most current singer. There have been at least two since Beachley.

Yea I noticed in DL&Qs latest blog they were introducing their newest lead singer. So you are right it is their 2nd lead singer since Beachley left
