  • Goosebumps !!!

  • nothing touches the original, but this is fucking beautiful.

  • I was sort of dissatisfied when I learned that they didn't use this song in the actual movie, \: ...

  • Esta es la canciòn màs bella que yo haya tenido el honor de escuchar en mi vida. Larga vida a la saga MACROSS.

This is teh most beatiful song that I had had the honor to hear in my lifetime. Hail MACROSS saga.

  • Because of Macross Frontier , I fell in love w/ Do you remember, I think this will be something always imbedded into your culture, I wish for ffs that Harmony Gold would give up the damn rights and let the original markers of Macross publish all this back in the U.S the newer generation is missing out on this and the only way for anyone to enjoy this is going to anime streaming websites.

  • Whos singing this? Megumi?

  • @700gsteak Yes, you may know her as the Megpoid GUMI, but in this case she is Ranke Lee.

  • Excellent job in this clip. I cannot express all what I feel in words with this song. Like all the versions of it but i think Ranka´s is the best so far, the arrange and mixing is just adjusted to the moment.. like M. plus did with Sharon Apple...Wish the makes had put more cameos like the one for FireBomber (that was for more "mature listeners")

  • I love this version, I think this one is far more better than others since the original Minmay's Version (Minmay's still win wwww), not for the singer or singing but the meaning after that. Minmay gives this song a meaning for Love and 'culture' for humanity, but Ranka's version is against the greed of humanity. The emptiness (or should I say Loneliness) behind Ranka's voice, and at the end, she just keeps singing 'I love you so' ... but not ends as the original version.poor Ranka ...

  • please make a mp3 link

  • grace is different from the movie.

  • I still like Minmay's version more. In my opinion it is much more emotional. No wonder it stayed on top charts for quite some time. Can'r say that Ranka's version is bad too though :)

  • There are several decades between Ranka's version and Minmay's version, of course this one has better sound quality as there is a gap in technological difference. This version can be arguably better - it is improved on many aspects, but Minmay's version was an epic finale that deeply impacted the Macross franchise forever and that simply can't be repeated anymore.

  • Ranka version is the best,

  • I still think that this music, when Ranka is singing against human race, should be sung in Vajran.

  • @aleste666 Kinda hard when the Vajura don't really have a language, it's a wireless communication protocol, that needs a human being gateway to draw meaning from.

  • 2 people didn't remember love.

  • No other version can beat Ranka`s version<3

  • Minmays version is waaaaaay better. No other anime track gives me goosebumps like hers.

  • @SnIkLeeT ? Minmays version is better?? you not serious are you? if so your crazy. this blows minmays version away!.

  • @bigdfh1 That one guys opinion dude... I do like this one too.

  • @SnIkLeeT No i just went and checked and it is god awful compared to this version

  • @Reach3521 I just like how Minmay sings the chorus is the older version, with overlapping vocals. Sounds nice.

  • i really love this song!!!

and the video is great!! thumbs up!

  • Had it at max, ow Xl

  • Absolutely beautiful. It was a masterpiece.

  • *h* *heart*

  • Wait wait guys...They rearranged this beautiful song in this foolish thing ??? Oo

  • where can i watch

macross frontier the movie: the false diva???

    subbed

  • whenever i see ranka she remind me megpoid(mostly) and midori (midori no bibi or midori days). during the battle this music really make me thrill ( do tha thrilla) i mean hearing those heavy sounds. totally insane kool!!

  • Una buena adaptacion del video de macross frontier del capitulo 24 y 25 pero vale la pena verlo. Es un bonito video y la adaptacion esta buena

  • This song always brings tears to my eyes, even though I don't understand the lyrics.

  • @Alamandorious The lyrics would probably make you do the same, a famous line goes "Until yesterday, my eyes were clouded with tears..."

  • @Alamandorious That's the power of Deculture.

  • kill them, ranka XDD ...that was so awesome^^ this episode ^^. ...i like this song, Aimo also _ one shot Alto-kun XD _ great anime :)

  • Anyway, i really liked Macross Frontier!!!! Really good anime with awesome soundtrack! About this version and the DYRL... i like both different ways. This new one is really powerful and deep.. almost ethereal. Suits perfectly the situation of everybody in the anime. The old one is a pop love song, that suits perfectly the situation in that time. Well.. i have both on my player to hear everywhere...

  • And one more thing: i still don't understand why they used teenagers as main characters. Ok, Minmai was a teenager but not the others.

  • OMG I LOVE this song. I remember teh original!

  • I love this song...

  • At the end of the video, when Sherly shouted "ALTO!", I didn't feel sorry. Her outfit just killed the sad part. It's to slutty.

  • where can i download this song

  • I love the singing in 3:40 until the end. It sounds so full of emotion; it's really powerful.

  • I'm going to say this: I think it would have been better if it ended with episode 24. I can't stand those super happy endings at the end of anime. It was getting dark and sad--which was good--, then it would whipflash you with a cheesy 'everybodys happey' ending, that always make me sick.

  • @podtech115 that's why i still prefer the original series. It's not a happy ending. It was a natural ending with good and bad stuff happening. And when you come to think that the Megaroad 01 just disappeared... it really makes things sad in the original series. Now that you mention it, it would be great if the Varja had expelled the humans to other galaxy... with Ranka as the new queen of the galaxy. Like Starcraft Brood Wars.

  • la musica es muy hermosa gracias

  • Excellent video, I've been looking for a good quality version of the song but it seems the only ones available were the short ones and the battle version. I'm saving this for sure; hope it stays on youtube for a while.

  • Rankas songs have so muuuuch feelings put into them <3 Love em so much :D The first time I heard these songs were the best feelings ever :) :*

  • I love Ranka's version more! one of the best songs!

    =P

  • I love this version ! more powerful

  • the emotion is truly strong and gives a sense of struggle.i love this Frontier version of Ai obete imasuka. Its better than the other one.The composition is magnificent.I feel I can't compare the old and the new because they could feel the deep emotion emnating from them

  • i agree, this version has way more depth to mirror the lyrics.

  • this fits fantastically with the video, even though in the episode the song is cut off when alto's VF-171EX gets hit.

  • I slowed down the explosion of the VF-171EX and the ending of the video to make it fit better.

  • ahhh, you did a fantastic job on this anyway :3

  • nice vid.

  • It sounds so sad... and yet so good... I love it!

  • This song is beautiful :) it was on the radio station I was listenin to yesterday ^_^

Never heard of Macross Frontier though

  • it was on the radio????!!!

    whaaattt!?

where do u live anyway? japan?

  • Hehe no, the USA. :P

I listen to online radio stations on Winamp, and they have a station on there that plays Japanese music, including a lot of music from anime soundtracks.

  • is this a winamp addon that is downloaded separately?

  • Not that I am aware of, you just open the Winamp Library, and then look for the "Online Services" on the left side there, and then there is an option under there that says "SHOUTcast Radio"

They have a huge pile of online stations you can listen to (you can narrow it down to different genres and whatnot.)

But yeah, it was already there with my Winamp, not needing any additional downloads so I'm assuming it is there on all of them.

  • You get the same feeling from modern macross compared to old macross series. Old Macross, human were brink of extinction, modern macross, they're just skirmish, small battles

  • this version is awsome for modern times, it is kinda different cuz this time it was used AGAINST humanity, rather than the original was used to SAVE humanity. It has a "haunting" kinda sound to it. the original had a "inspirational" sound

  • If you have seen the DYRL Movie then check Megumi Nakajima's interpretation of Tenshi No Enogu, the last song of the movie. I uploaded it.

  • Something else, take in consideration that later on Aimo is revealed to be a love song for the Vajra translating Aimo into Dear.

If you consider that Aimo is an ancient Vajra love song that was used to distract and kill them.

Grace choice of the "Ancient Protoculture" love song to bring the death of Frontier was the most appropriate.

  • Yup. When I heard this in ep 24. My jaw dropped. And when Grace said, "There is really no song more appropriate than this for the protector of a planet." I agreed.

  • @RichterX83 to me it was more of a bitch slap to the Humans, I mean how ironic can it get, getting owned by the song that saved Humanity...

  • @RichterX83 YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND. I never even thought about that!

  • All i can say is.. DeCulture..!!

  • I do like Ranka's voice and songs more than Sheryl's.

I actually like her personality more, but that doesnt mean I dislike Sheryl :).

  • Have you heard Shinkuu no Diamond Crevasse, it`s awesome

  • I have every single song of this series in my computer ;).

Still, I'm more into these types of songs more than that one. I gave this song 5 and Diamond 4 stars :p

  • Me too, it`s a very good soundtrack seeya

  • thanks for posting this video this is one of my favourite song in macross frontier.

  • She did find the Vajra home planet, where the Frontier can recolonize and restore their numbers. And now they can even live in peace with the Vajra from now on.

  • Part 1 of 2

*Notices all the negative points on his comments* Oh the haters are coming out of the wood work. LOL !

    Listen People..

Ranka went AWOL and killed human colonists. She ain't winning any medals from the Macross Military.

Shit if I was the Macross President I would be sending Ranka a bill for all of the property damage she is responsible for in the final battle.

I think something like 4 battle cruisers and a colony ship were destroyed because of Ranka.

  • Part 2 of 2

Also there are the families of the pilots, crew, and colonists that were aboard those ships when Ranka attacked. They should be allowed to sue Ranka.

    In the end,

Ranka is going to be busing tables at her resturant for a LONG TIME to pay off the Macross Frontier Fleet. That is going easy on her. She is lucky she didn't get jail time.

Ranka can forget her hopes of singing, nobody is going to buy her music now. Would you buy music from the person that killed your family ?

  • What are you talking about?

  • Did you have a loved one or a family member die when Ranka was singing for the Vajra? o_o

I just wanna understand where this is coming from. If so, my condolences. o_o

  • i love this song ^o^

  • need DL of mp3.

i have the short version [lots of techno sounds]

    the anicappela ver [yay]

    but i dont have this

    DL link plox

  • Just one thing, Ranka and Sheryl don't saved only the colonist from Macross Frontier, in truth they saved all the Humans in the galaxy, just notice the next time you see the last episode that the Vajra swarm was about to attack Earth and other colonies. They saved all the humans (And Zentran, and all ^^;) like Minmay, but just the Frontier colonist know that. =)

  • I know the scene your talking about, and though you see the Vajra over Macross City and the 7th Fleet they dont show the exact number.

From what I can tell they dont kill a single person in Macross City or 7th Fleet, so to say that Ranka and Sheryl saved them is a bit premature. It aint like Earth has been doing nothing. I am sure its even more well defended then seen in Macross Plus.

I would say for the Vajra to attack Earth would be suicide. After all, they do have the Macross. :)

  • It was Macross 11 not 7, the reason why they showed it is because until Frontier that is near the center of the galaxy, 11 is headed towards the edge of the galaxy. They are showing the real time fold capacity of the Vajira capable of appearing anywhere in the galaxy at will.

  • Yep, and as they said in one of the last episodes: Who oppose they will be destroyed (or something like that. ^^).

None of the Earth defenses would be effective against the recent Vajras, remember that the Frontier Army have to use new weapons to be effective. =)

  • 1 of 3

In the Macross Universe, A Songtress is rated by "Contribution to Humanity" and "Popularity". They then are put on a scale and rated.

At the top of the chart is..

    1. Lynn Minmay - The first songtress, without her singing in the last battle of the original series, ALL HUMANS (not just a few colonists, but every single person.) would of died at the hands of the Zentradi. Because of this she was loved by all humans and many Zentradi.

  • 2 of 3

    2. Sheryl Nome - Her entire home colony "Galaxy" was killed by the Vajra at the beginning the series. She was then taken in by the Macross Frontier. This won her the pity vote. She then sung in the final battle and help save the colony from the same fate as "Galaxy".

    3. Basara Nekki - First male songtress, this gives him some popularity, in the final battle he defeats the Protodevlin, however the Macross 7 battle fleet is destroyed in the process making it a "Luke-warm" victory.

  • 3 of 3

    4. Ranka Lee - Started off with humble beginnings and rose to fame in a cinderlla type fashion. When she was able to stop the Vajra she became a hero. However she voluntarily went AWOL and then was captured manipulated by Grace to kill her own colonist she was considered a "betrayer to humanity" She would redeem herself in the final battle breaking the control Grace had over the Vajra.

    5. Sharon Apple - First AI controlled Songtress. Exteremely Powerful and difficult to control.

  • Sharon Apple becomes unstable and backfires. Instead of being used against Zentradi, Vajra or Protodevlin. Its the first songtress to brainwash humans! It held Macross City Hostage for several hours till a fighter pilot Isamu Dyson managed to stop it. Because of Sharon Apple, humans no longer allow AI or cyborgs to become a Songtress.

So Lynn Minmay is at the top of the Ranking and Sharon Apple is at the bottom.

  • just because sheryl and alto were at the same place does not mean they had sex, you pervert.

  • Oh your riiiiight, thats the same line I give my girlfriend's dad everytime I leave her house at 4 am in the morning.

"Just because I am in your daughter's room does not mean I am having sex, you pervert."

    Oh wait...

    But I was...

    and you know what..

Sheryl after learning she was going to die of a deadly virus, downed a entire bottle of wine, and sure as shit banged Alto till the morning hours because she wasn't going to die without having Alto.

    Now watch the scene again

  • beautiful man, just beautiful!!!

  • It still gives me the creeps due to how it was presented to us in the anime. Ranka Lee, the harbinger of death...

  • AWESOME SONG!!!! that's an excelent upload, I've been looking for this video on youtube since I've downloaded both nyan tra and nyan fro =3

killer version of this song, don't you agree =3
