@Lipsnx4u i couldn't agree more man ATF let weapons past through mexico to drug cartel, and they claim that there is a loophole it all propaganda make up by anti-gun politic people and law maker who want to ban our right to bear arm
i love gun shows so much....its like if jesus himself set up a garage sale. o and the last gun i bought at a gun show the dude did a background check on me via his cell phone.
"The Sound Barrier"... "The Dark Side of the Moon"... "The Gun Show Loop Hole"... What do those 3 things have in common? Think hard now, you can do it...
Iv gone 2 many gun shows all over, a friend is a gun dealer, he sells mostly at shows but has a brick n mortar shop, THE SAME LAWS APPLY EVERYWHERE! the convention centers and fair grounds r not special magic zones, same laws and even stricter rules r followed at gun shows this is really a law to ban all private sales. when u no longer want a gun u should b able to sell it n a free land. guns r not registered at shows cause gun registration is against federal law everywhere, doesn't exist
I take exception to "I have a right to defend myself," as I contend that a person could defend himself with a can of soup: "I have a right to EFFECTIVELY defend myself." Firearms are merely the weapon/tool of today. I will cheerfully trade my guns for operable versions of the fictionalized weapons that the characters of "Star Trek" had. At one time a the crossbow was the weapon to have at-the-ready, before that it was the spear.
Propaganda? I bought a gun through the gun show loophole. Cash only, no ID, no background check. Only told the guy my first name, and handed him money.
@gameragodzilla Well, yes. It was a federal felony on the part of the seller to not request ID to confirm my age and state of residency.
Separate from that, the sale did not require a criminal background check. I could have been mentally ill or a convicted felon. John Patrick Bedell- who shot and wounded two police officers at the pentagon- was adjudicated mentally ill in California. He bought firearms at a Las Vegas gun show- bypassing a background check for prohibitive mental disorders.
That kind of stuff happens .07% of all the times firearms are used for crime. Also, only 3% of the guns used in crime were legally obtained. This is according to the FBI. Thus, passing legislation to "close" this loophole means that 99.93% of the people at gun shows are severly inconvinenced to stop .07% of the people who actually are offenders.
@gameragodzilla I've heard those stats before. I'd caution you to not take results of one study as absolute fact. Also, I think it was .7%.
Are FFL sales extremely inconvenient? It would be the same background check. Nothing new. The I in NICS stands for instant. It only would bring private sales in line with the same regulations for FFL sales- ID, background check.
BTW, Gamera...ha. HIlarious monster. Friend of the children...those movies rock.
yeah, well i have yet to see any study from the anti-gun people. most just simply point out that there's no background check or id required. doesn't matter if it happens very rarely, they'll point that out anyways. oh well, such is the fact of life, i guess.
congrats, you are the first person who actually got that correct. most people usually ignore the "a" at the end, and simply call me "gamer"godzilla.
What the fuck does a gun show have to do with anything. What's next? The guvment tellin' me I can't sell my lawnmower to someone because they might take it home and run over their kids foot?
1% is tens of thousands of people buying guns without control. Plus is a dummy issue... anyone who is responsible and deserves a gun can still get one. So people who are fighting it are really just advocating for people to buy guns for illegal purposes. Mostly that is sending them to mexico to sell to drug gangsters there. Funny how THAT issue didn't even get mentioned in this program. Savings lives doesn't infringe on anyones rights-just cuts into gun makers and dealers profits. boo-hoo
Where did you get your figures, you numbers are beyond insane.Point 2 in the '80s and 90s the comblock floded the market with weapons most but not all AKs, you can buy one or arail car full at $100 each compared to $6,000 for full auto here in the U.S. if you were building an army where would you by. Now how often do you deal with guns if ever and why would you know more than the people that do all the time?
except that there is no evidence anywhere that gun control reduces crime or saves lives. And the fact that cities with gun control are much more dangerous would indicate that it has the opposite effect.
0.7% not even 1% The Federal government has NO right to take our rights away""A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."" wow hard to understand the words or something.....2 separate entities the Militia COMMA the right if the PEOPLE...thats 2 separate topics,or WHY seperate them to begin with and not leave just one or the other...commas used to mean something and not so trivial to understand
No listen more closely it was .07% of offenders purchased guns at Gun Shows if you believe that is tens of thousands (10,000 minimum) then there had to be well over 1 Million violent crimes involving firearms... Math Much
The only one buying illegal guns is the government through ATF to supply drug cartels. Thank you, for posting.

You need to educate yourself. no one is sending guns to mexico, you need to go on oprah and sell your bullshit to someone else.
