  • You are awesome.

  • Thank you very much

  • wt's that logo on the right bottom ??

  • Good video,, it kinda helps me too. dont wana make any criticism,, but is it not meal instead of dish??

  • @pigship dish=餸菜...meal=餐

  • thank you it's useful~im a local student and will be having my ALoral test on 3rd May..i always try to speak differently but the problem is i cant really distinguish whether my accent is chi-english or not. i study a lot about phonetics hoping to speak like a british. i mean it's such a shame that i've studied english for over a decade and still speak less than fair english....

btw, it's a bit eye tiring to watch a screen inside a screen...

    thx

  • thx!

  • It is highly appreciated it.

  • shouldn't that be "simplest"?

  • thank you

  • the man in the video sure has British accent. american english is totally different than british english.

about the "star chef"... because he's filming, the way he talks is different from the way you normally talk to people

  • that "star chef" is happened to be called Jamie Oliver, and despite he speaks in such a way, it is not a bad choice to be used as an example, cos this lesson is for HK ppl to see how a stress in a sentence can and should be implemented

  • The other thing is that Hong Kong accents historically follow a British accent (like the presenter here), instead of an American.

  • nice work~

  • well, American speak differently. they have less emphasis on stress words. American speak more continuously without the so obvious high and low pitch.

  • awesome!

  • support ! You're so meaningful!

  • nice one!

  • Great job. Thanks so much. I have been trying very hard to eliminate my Cantonese accent, and I have to tell you that your clips help me a lot.Keep the great job. Thanks for your passion. God bless you.

  • great reply!! that first +1 it's from me!!!

    god bless you too!

i don't need to eliminate my chinese accent because i've been to America for a long time already, but i still remember the time when i was having a hard time with English

  • thank you for your teaching

  • Agree with "kongfoosing".

i've a friend spoke cantonese since she was 3,but even now i still can find something "strange" accent in her pronouce.

but that OK,i think a guy with accent or not is not so important for making friends with them.

  • Hi, I am come from Hong Kong.Althought I studied in UK for almost two years, I am still speaking with 5% of Cantonese Accent...But the Cantonese Accent reli sounds bad!

  • I am always trying to imagine the cavemen back in those days trying to come up with some sort of common language to communicate with each other. I mean, can you imagine some of these guys actually came up with French?! Somebody should have clubbed those bastard to death. LOL

  • Romance language is beautiful. Club those stupid Anglo who invented the English language by bastardizing German, French and Latin.

How the heck do those Anglos pronounce "ONE" 'wun'? The "O" is pronounced as "W". The vowel is placed in the middle rather in the beginning and the sound is not even what it's supposed to be.

  • This whole presentation just goes to show how bloody hard cantonese (or perhaps most tonal languages) is to learn/ master. I have yet to come across a Caucasian (on TV or real life) who can actually speak cantonese like a chinese. They always sound like they are speaking a foreign language. Have you guys met one? Even with a chinese, you can always tell if they have been speaking cantonese all their lives or if they picked it up later in their lives. I just love speaking cantonese.

  • where are you from? Nice Clip

  • I just found your channel and found your channel is awesome. Keep up the good work.

    Terry from the US

  • Nice one
