the c70 driver sucks, plain and simple. why would you turn off the traction control and smoke the tires all the way through first gear? the beamer is older than dirt, i wouldnt even drive it
c70 are nice especially the convert hard top but look up the bmw vs the volvo s60r it kills the bmw remember your compairing a fwd to a rwd well the s60r is awd 300hp stock
Torque wins races. It's not just about bhp. After 50mph or from a rolling start a standard T5 pulls well ahead from a 330. But yeah, even though the 850 is a remarkably good handling car it simply cannot compete with BMW in the handling department. Even with enough power to out run an M3 my T5 will (and does) get left behind by even 325's in the bends.
doode, i like volvos, i had 86 740 turbo, but what the hell are you talking about? which m3, 89 to 92? maybe. but not an e36 m3, even those m3 are old now, noubody drives them. The e46 m3 wil kill you i bet u 100 bucks, dont think i hate volvos, i had one, and planning to get 850 turbo, but m3 is a different car. piece out
Haha, ok. You obviously don't know a lot a BMW. The E46 is not faster than the E36 M3, it has a little extra torque and bhp but also a little extra weight. Infact many E36 owners have posted videos on here illustrating exactly that. And yes I waste M3's, all of them up to the E92 with only 290 bhp. I've been tuning my T5 for over two years mate and I would happily race an E46 M3 (done it plenty of times) for logs books. Continu...
continu... It's not magic it's basic physics or more specifically power to weight. A T5 weighs about the same as the E36 (a little less than the E46).
The E36 M3 has about 350nm of torque at around 5,500rpm. My T5 has about 430nm of torque at around 2000rpm, (forget bhp it is very misleading but i can explain it if you wish). This means that when i am produce my max torque of 430nm the M3 still hasn't even reached 300nm!!
If you want to kow more I would be happy to explain. cheers
Sorry I just realised what you mean by the M50 manifold. Yeah you're right about that, it was the 328 that could be upgraded to the M50 325 manifold so this one would already have it. My mistake there.
Volvo C70 T5 is a cruiser for the autobahn and go fast in a straight line, it have's American comfort, but its very nice and relax ride, and fast on autobahn but not in corners.
bla bla bla...rwd ill allays eat fwd with or without dragslicks. If a volvo 240 had eaten your t5 what should you complain on then? Grow up and realize that volvo isnt made for drag racing if youre not spending over 20K on your car...
i think we are not supposed to comment who coud win IF ,we must comment who win. Doesnt matter if a car win with a body or less, important is that car win.And in our case 325 win, with no dubt. All the cheers for bimmer!!!
that was my friend driving, that is his T5. Later i sat by the wheel and stood with 535 e39 manual. start was mine, from 100 kmh he passed me. With 325 we overspun, with 535 we were to cautious.
I have to agree with T5Power, I also eat 325's 328's and 330's in my standard 850 T5. That 325 did look very very quick for a standard car so i'm guessing it had more than just an exhust upgrade. It could have easily had a 323 inlet manifold, larger throttle boddies and re-map which make it more like 250bhp. It would take more than a bad start for a 325 to kill a T5 from my experience.
Eh the 323i and the 328i are for manifold change not the old 325i M50, they use the manifold of the 325i m50. Volvo turbo's are fast in straight line but when the first corner comes BMW is always faster, and a stock 330i is faster then a stock 850T5.
Sorry i don't understand the first part of you comment regarding the manifold so please re post. And yes the standard 850 T5 is considerably faster than a standard 330 as well. Whilst the T5 doesn't produce more bhp than a standard 330, the T5 produces far morque due to the turbo. I am talking mid range mind you not 0-60 which is of course a different story.
My T5 is now tuned to 290bhp with just a map and exhaust and has enough torque to waste an E36 or E46 M3in the mid-range.
We started from 4 k rpm, w/o traction. Yes that is T5 176 kw, we neeeded to keep ir more gentle i suppose. That beemer had an exhaust as you can see, but i don't know anything else. After that we raceed against 535i E39 173 kw, and then we used traction control, we were too gentle then and lost by a single body. If a start would have been good like you said, we would have won against both of them.
w/o traction control around 3500 rpms and I feather the throttle to keep from spinning all through first. It looked like the surface you were on was a little gritty, less traction.
Is that C70 a T5? By the sound of that BMW, it must have an exhaust and more. Stock for stock, the pull in the 2.3L T5 C70 is much stronger than the 325i through 2nd, 3rd and up. Off the line the Bimmer is a little quicker though, they're almost even to 100km/h with the C70 having an advantage with a good launch.
I'm not sure, but heard that it had a wider cardan shaft?? If it's possible. How do you take off with your C70? How many rpm at the start? With or w/o traction cotrol?

Euhm ... I eat E36's for breakfast ;-) Even the M3 E36 3.2 isn't faster than my car (I have to say I chipped mine).
I think either the C70 or the driver in the movie were 'sick' ?

What kind of mods was the 325i running? I know my stock 5 speed 2.3L C70 coupe can walk my dad's E36 328i 5 speed.
