i can never get into it right ill get on to the ledge and just bounce off or my foot stops the slide. this trick is so frustrating!

you probably have your weight on your heelside. oh and when your board stops sliding, try to restart the slide by pushing your backfoot. That usually let's you know the right balance to actually slide.
