I can understand where this girl is coming from...In a nutshell, she's saying that Guyana's political parties are mainly based on racial support and that needs to stop..She's saying that Guyana need a government that will look after ALL of the people and not being biased to one race ..e.g. PNC for blacks, PPP for indians etc...The only way that this can be achieved is for both the PPP and PNC to be removed permanently, or else, the racial voting will always occur.

Anndis, it is always easier to place blame on the other side. Many Guyanese, BOTH Indo and Afro, are guilty of voting race and not issue. This problem isn't exclusive to one side. An Indian in the southern US would be considered just as black as you are .

Guyana is the only Caribbean country that has had 5 consecutive years of economic growth. Tourism is up and the economy has grown from 300 million to 2.5 billion. It will take many years for Guyana to recover, and it is up to the Guyanese people to do so. We need to stop seeing eachother as Indo and Afro and realize that we are family. The GUYANESE family.

If history serves right it was the PNC government that put Guyana down the Drain, That government was led by Forbes Burnham and Desmond Hoyte. The government was predominantly afro Guyanese. Indians did not have much say back in those days; Indians were treated like second class citizens not only in Guyana but Trinidad as well.
