Ohayo! Great stuff man, bom bossa novista! Don't know if you noticed but the page with the chords for this song is gone, was relying on it to learn it! Will you be putting it back up? = ) . ! .
@slikanee Thank you for bringing the problem to my attention. The other day, I moved my blog to a new place, and the program I wrote had a bug that you couldn't go to previous pages when you searched the blog contents. I have fixed the bug right now, so please try it again.
Venicius wrote it, Tom made it famous, but Joao made it into what it is...Tom always credtied Joao, not like Miles Daviws, whole stole Eddie "Vleanhead" Vincent's classic jazz "Four" and "Tune Up", only giving Cleanhead a few bucks when they'd run ito each other...How do I know? I knew Cleanhead since my back was shorter than his hand, and he was again closest when my first husband, jazz drummer, played with him...he was the first one there when my first baby was born. See the difference? go!
This is what I like to see, helibossa in top form! I don't know about the other three people that didn't like this(such amateurs), but he is a true bossanovista!
You should, however, breathe with your nose when you sing. I'm no singing expert, and maybe it's just me, but it sometimes sounds like you're panting like a dog and that seems to interfere with your sound.
All in all, very good performance. I've watched this video dozens of times already :)
Congratulations for the wonderful taste in music that you have, the Portuguese language is very difficult to be well spoken, but you did very well, congratulations again, an embrace of Campinas in Brazil
Very tuneful. A lot, by the way. The pronounce of "little kisses" at the "beijinhos" became with more "T". Pronounce more with "J" (or "JSHI") in English. Out this, you was wonderfull!
You sing very well, I'm impressed. There's just one thing missing: our "ginga" in your voice. One day, if you can, came to Brazil and try to feel the way the people here speak. An mixed accent from africans, indians and europeans. If you can understand that, you'll not only sing in portuguese, but FEEL in portuguese too.
thank you for your comment and advise. I think that understanding a foreign culture including its language truly would be more difficult than imitating it. And to understand it more, it would be good to visit and stay the country which the culture belongs to.
Wow! Simply amazing!!! I've got to agree with the other commenters, your effort was impressive. Thank you for posting this, I'm very glad to see it. Congrats!
I am really impressed from your effort!!! I'm sure it is real hard to a Japanese to speak Portuguese... I'm from Brazil, and I'm trying to learn Japanese, so I can guess what you've been through. I hope you keep enjoying Bossa Nova... and keep playing and posting, so I can be a bit proud of my country... lol!!!
Thanks a lot... Your effort actually made me want to learn more about our own music... Thanks again!!!
Thank you for your kind comment. A few years ago, textbooks about bossa nova lyrics were published in Japan. They have CDs which contained the reading of the lyrics by a native Brazillian. They were so useful that I could learn singing bossa nova songs in Portuguese. But I have learned little about meanings of the words and the grammar of Portuguese...I'd like to keep on learning them.
I wrote the chord progression on my blog. I have written the URLs in the "description" column of this song. although they are written in Japanese, you can probably see the chords and tabs.
Thanks for your kind comment. I love this song, too. I learned the chord progression of this song from a songbook called "Bossa nova standards 101" published in Japan. I transposed it from C to D and changed some chords in order to play it easily.
I wrote the chord progression on my blog. since it seems that I cannot write any URLs in the "comment" colomn, I have written the URLs in the "description" column of this song. although they are written in Japanese, you can probably see the chords and tabs.
I began to play the guitar about twelve years ago. But I have been playing rock, pop, folk music with steel string guitars for a long time. Last year I bought a nylog string guitar and began to play Bossa Nova.

sometimes I feel that it is difficult for me to inhale correctly while singing. I'd like to be able to do so by improving my posture and breathing.

As I love this song, I have been practicing it harder than any other songs.
But it is so difficult that I have rarely played it without making any mistakes. So I am going to continue practicing it.
