Even the oldest S-75 could operate under heavy jamming (skilled crew is needed of course). Or newer much more capable systems than Tunguska like Pantsir-S1 or

From what i know the shilka has four 23mm automatic flak cannons, the Tunguska i has two 30mm flak cannons in addition to 8 air to ground missiles. Both are semi-robotized having the ability to autonomously track and lock onto low-flying aerial targets.
Well very few people knows that 30 mm of a down at Tunguski are very quickly heated. That does not allow it to conduct continuous fire on the purpose. In other indicators it surpasses the western analogue in times....
Tunguska, it all the same differs from complex S-300 (S-400). æ-300 it is calculated on ballistic missiles first of all. S-400 (though and officially it it is not necessary on arms) it is calculated ALREADY on defence of orbital space. So air defence class is not comparable... First of all, tunguska it is calculated on an easy air/land armour. And as infantry on direct/rocky district.

Tunguska is indeed one the most effective AA system in our days for short rang ,and for the spinning radar if it make you a problem you can shut it down :) ,a weapon will last a weapon , the most important is to make a good use of this weapon by using the best strategies to fit with it.

The vehicle has a diesel engine that is practically blinding in IR imaging. A little spinning metal thing is irrelevant. It is there to take out attack helicopters and low flying aircraft.

Who doesn't see the irony in the name? Tungaska Was were a Meterorite struck with the force of an atomic weapon going off and leveling the area in 1908. Some people believe it had something to do with a serbian born American name Tesla who used a Ray gun and circled the planet and destroyed Tunguska. And that Americans now have that technology strapped to the cone of a plane that can now take out tanks 5 miles up.

Stop lying. Show me a valid resource site which he was heard or had written he never considered himself an American. He came to the US and worked with Thomas Edison in his late 20s and stayed and died in America at the age of 84. He lived most of the last of his 59 years of life in the US while visiting Serbia (Croatia) family over the years. He was very American. He may have been born and raised into his 20s in Serbia but He became An American to live its free lifestyle to work as he wanted

@bluevidcam I read his memoirs, and he had the lowest possible opinion towards Edison, Marconi, and others who stole his ideas and patents. The only person who he had respect for was Mark Twain. He moved to america because of financial reasons because in europe nobody understood his concepts not that in americans understood them eitehr but were willing to finace him. Although he did live in america he never embraced the american system and life, he despised capitalism and refused to become rich.

that gives a great idea for a close defense of soft targets against medium range ballistic weapons that we see in middle east actions - a ultra-cyclic 30mm dual barrel with rapid radar at 10 ghz and medium cyclic radar at 450 mhz for at-horizon monitor ... very slick and enviable piece of equipent

From what i know the shilka has four 23mm automatic flak cannons, the Tunguska i has two 30mm flak cannons in addition to 8 air to ground missiles. Both are semi-robotized having the ability to autonomously track and lock onto low-flying aerial targets.

Well very few people knows that 30 mm of a down at Tunguski are very quickly heated. That does not allow it to conduct continuous fire on the purpose. In other indicators it surpasses the western analogue in times....

Tunguska, it all the same differs from complex S-300 (S-400). æ-300 it is calculated on ballistic missiles first of all. S-400 (though and officially it it is not necessary on arms) it is calculated ALREADY on defence of orbital space. So air defence class is not comparable... First of all, tunguska it is calculated on an easy air/land armour. And as infantry on direct/rocky district.

Awesome comment... Only the longbow is about as stealthy as a flying fuel truck, so it would be dead long before it switches on its hellfires. And that's only if the AH64s get past medium range guided AA--which they wouldn't. On a bigger note, it's really refreshing to see Americans still smug about their military dominance. One sure fire way to stay on top is to constantly underestimate your adversaries(read: sarcasm). I predict the US DOD will be buying foriegn-made systems within a decade.

If I was a president of a country I would buy weapons from Russia why? because their weapons are equivalent or better than the U.S and at a lower cost.

You realize that all RPG weapons are Russian correct? And that a Single RPG-29 has punched through a Challenger-2 tank, twice. In other words, Russian hand-held anti-tank weapons penetrate some of the best-armored tanks in the world with one direct impact. No other hand-held missile can do that, and the Javeline can only do it by striking a tank from above. One EMP goes off, and all your little electronics are useless.
