  • This is just great to see,I miss seeing Isaac playing live.I used to see him playing in small venues in and around Glasgow.A good memory of him is in the Brigg Inn in Barrhead.I was just 19 & there was no more than 8 people in the pub and only about 3 of us where there to see him play.I sat right in front of him and was quite literally SPELLBOUND, it was magical. Thanks for posting this, and for me to find it so close to the 10th anniversary of his passing is very poignant. See you on the beach

  • @q10a Did it inspire you to pick up the guitar yourself?

  • @Nerdovich - Well, I already played the bass and a little bit of guitar but to see an acoustic played in such a way was inspiring to say the least and Isaac changed my view on what could be played on an acoustic guitar. He was a very approachable and friendly guy with a great soul, miss seeing him at gigs. Thanks for asking :)

  • Join the Isaac Guillory page on Facebook . Great guy ..celebrate him with memories and facts for all his fans and family.

  • I went down to the Stage Door pub in Scarborough around 1987 to a folk club night. the place was packed to the rafters. I said to the guy sitting next to me 'Is this guy good then?' 'He walks on water.' was the response. As the evening progressed I realised this was not much of an exaggeration. A fabulous player and a true artist.

  • This guy used to play at Wells Folk Club in the early seventies!

  • isaac guillory is wonderful, do you know where can i download his music? thanksss

  • bestest by far

  • first heard isaac on a local blues radio show donkey's years ago and tryed like hell to get cd's or any other recordings of him and failed -- great to see him perform "live" -- wish he was still with us -- legend

  • Thanks a lot for posting! Agree he's the best acoustic guitarist I ever saw. He used to play in the Half moon in Cambridge.

Check out my "Wayfaring Strangers" video tribute to him here on Youtube. Type in "zeliotis" in the search.

  • Cabronosidad - I created a YouTube account for one purpose only - to thank you for uploading these videos.

I only Isaac once - at Band on the Wall in Manchester in the late 1980's: - 20-odd years later I have still to find anyone better.

You have done his memory (and his fans) a great service.

    Thank you.

  • thank you, as well. isaac's gift - his music, the nature of his tunes, his rap, the way he conducted himself onstage, and the intensity with which he pursued his art - is what culture is all about. rare is such talent, but some of his peers are still around. pursue them and hope isaac hears the applause up in heaven.

  • @grummash1 and his family that never got to meet him!!! and only have old pics of him!!! thank you

  • Saw the man three times and he is indeed THE best player I have had the privilege to hear perform live. LEGEND!

  • Correct observation. Although Isaac's sets featured different combinations of familiar titles, he never did "carbon copy" party-piece performances. He always found

freshness - both for himself and the audience - ever game to try spontaneous new slants on "old friends". This meant he sometimes played himself into trouble, then had to work out how to recover "on the fly". It was not unknown, though rare, for him to come off his bike!

    The consummate virtuoso.

    [Tyneside, England.]

  • This version is so different from the anetstation version Isaac has got to be improvising which makes it all the more incredible - thanks for sharing!!!
