Dude... i'm actually looking for the actual military Improvised Munitions... like making ice bullets when fighting in tundra or making glass bullets from sand when fighting in deserts....

Just to point out Dan Brown was lying in deception point. Glass and ice bullets wouldn't work, the glass would cool too quickly and the bullets would shatter as soon as they left the barrel and ice bullets would melt. On top of this the heat source for making glass bullets would have to be huge and would also melt the rest of the weapon.

WarpigAA is right. IM weapons do exist. First of all, the gun that would shoot this ice bullet would use short bursts of air or NO2 like in a paintball gun.

Secondly, if the gun would make glass bullets, it wouldn't be hard. Haven't you been to the factories where they make glass? The gun could already have a pre-heated compartment inside that just allows small bits of sand in to get fried and shot. Again, possibly, with air or the steam generated.

Water droplets under high pressure..

Next there is is water droplets. You can fire water easily, so easily they have kids squirt guns that shoot small drops of water at each other. You could by that and modify the pressure tank so it's a lot higher, and presto, an IM weapons in your midst.
