I have personally been talking to an norweagian he was 85 and was involved att D-DAY whit the allies and also was involved att the liberation. I dont know why its only USA and britain all makeing videos of, why not also take all those others included in the videos...USA and britain was not the only ones....

The Russians did not win shit, the Russians pushed Germany out of Russia than they pushed into Berlin and then they pulled out! You moron. It was the united states that forced Germany to surrender. @Docktory the russians did not leave germany until 1989... they heavily occupied most of germany and especially berlin. most of what we know of the demise of the 3rd reich is reported by the russians... such as the liberation of auschwitz or the death of hitler..... do you trust the russians under stalins rule???

@RomeAndMarty4Ever If the Americans hadn't entered the war then Churchill's plan would have taken place. To invade through Italy and from Africa. Churchill wanted to drive for the Balkans before Stalin got them but the Americans did not agree so it never happened.

U gotta be kiddin right? Russia couldve beaten Germany on its own,in fact by the time of D.Day,Soviet Armies where about to launch a much bigger offensive with much greater results - Operatin Bagration.

Germany suffered 11 million casualties (killed,wounded or captured) on the Eastern front while the Soviets lost 17 million men.

Compare that to American casualties and ul get the picture.

America played a much smaller role than Russia in the defeat of Nazi Germany.

@llokkee OK, not sure where to start. First off, u think if Germany did not have to fight a 2 front war that the USSR would have survived? Not likely. The only thing that saved the USSR was a lack of fuel from Germany who was fighting on 2 fronts. Second, the USA's entrance in the war diverted forces to, first North Africa, and second North France. In the meantime British and Americans were bombing the hell out of mainland Germany. So you may want to look further into ur asssertions

@cmg91101 What saved the Soviets more than anything was Hitlers insanity,the size of their country & the numbers of men at their disposal.Im sorry but ur being completely naive if u think a lack of fuel was the determining factor.By that stage,Russia was practically on the German border with overwhelming numbers of men & materiel,so having all the fuel in the world would have merely prolonged the inevitable.

Russia delivered most of the punishment to the Nazis (which was my point) NOT America.

Most Americans believe the US was the main reason Germany lost the war. How far from the truth this is obvious to all save most Americans!

@llokkee Well the US considers our role very important because we where giving the allies money and supplies before we entered the war. see lend lease program. If we had not given you this the war would have surely been lost if not lasted for many many more years. The allies out produced the axis thats why we won period. For every Sherman tank the Germans destroyed we could replace it with 4 or 5 more easy. It was numbers.

Yes, it was unfortunate for the USSR that the US and UK waited so long to open up a Western front in Europe.

FDR and Churchill had two reasons for doing this.

#1 They wanted to build up a large supply of equipment and trained men.

#2 They hoped the Red Army could significantly weaken the Luftwaffe.

But it cost millions of Russian lives and damaged the relationship between them and Stalin - which had sad consequences once the war had ended.

What they don't said on this video, is about the War Crime against Ostbattalion ( Russian,Chiness,or german soldiers ) in front of Normandy beach ( The Waffen-ss and another elite group was behind ,and the poor training soldiers , called "ostbattalion" was in front ) many die, or bash to death.
