@SynJenkins Volcano eruptions don't happen that often and they can be beneficial to us. They give fertile soil for land and can be popular tourist attractions. It was probably used mostly for the land then and, seeing as they didn't really know what volcanoes were or how they worked, the risk wasn't that high for them - if you get me? XD

That would block out most of the Sun for a long time, but I don't know how long. Probably a few years if it's just Yellowstone, that things under cubic miles of Earth. That would of course cause the Earth's temperature to drop quite a bit, plant life would suffer, and die. We could maybe survive, those with access to stored food and warm living.
