I just love this movie. A movie directed by a woman, written by a woman,..I love it. We all have our own perspectives about this movie, favorite parts, subjective, different opinions. I thought the alternative ending was a cop out. I liked how at the beginning the student was in the car looking at the sun through the trees and being taken "to prison" (ie the boarding school) and it ended the same way with the teacher watching the sun through the trees and being taken to prison (presumably the real one). yes the alternate ending is happier, but doesn't make for an effective striking ending.

This is my new favourite movie and a beautiful song.

@ajsiggie i completley agree with you,, i absolultey love this movie but i feel like it wouldnt have had such a strong effect on people if the alternate ending was used. i feel like they werent meant to be together forever, but its like annabelle was a wake up call for simone telling her not to be afraid of who you are and that you cant deny passion or the people you fall in love with. love ALWAYS trumps fear!!
