YOU-HOO! YOO-HOO ! A cell can't divide if it's not alive. A stem cell is of no use if it's dead. After thawing, the stem cells are separated from the embryo,( killing the embryo in doing so), and kept alive for manipulation, division, duplication, and future transplant.
