I used to have the vinyl album, "Young Bing Crosby," There were a number of tunes with Paul Whiteman and The Rhythm Boys," and this was one of my favorites, and you know, I don't even mind the scratches in the recording...It's like a bit of heaven in my ears..Thank you for the posting...
Recorded April 29, 1927, with a great arrangement by Matty Malneck. Would you believe NINE takes of this were recorded? Two were preserved; this is the one (take 9) that was first issued. Take 7 was finally released on one of RCA Victor's "Vintage Series" LP's in the early '60s...a month later, Frank Trumbauer recorded the definitive instrumental version (with Bix) for Okeh.
Well, it sounded like a Malneck arrangement to me, 'cdbpdx'...

With the LP 'seasons' recorded just a few weeks before Bing's death, that marks 50 years of recording. What a run!

If Red's playing ever sounded like Bix's, then it's on this recording...

The other "Rhythm Boys" are Al Rinker & Harry Barris.

@fromthesidelines this arrangement for Whiteman was done by Max Farle / Max Farley [i've seen it spelled both ways!]

This would've made Bing just short of his 24th birthday, he had that trademark low voice, even as a young man!
