John and Daryl broke up early in the days of their career over a dispute that finally got settled about their names on the album. When they got together again they did a song called "back together again". I think these two guys have been through hell and back and proved to still hold their own together, but personally the duo needs to stay together since they are simply remarkable. John is great, but it would be greater with Daryl,.

@MrMusicman488 wel i'ma h and o fan and i love most of john's contributions and his voice, but yep, it would not have been the same in terms of success if john had been the lead! he does a lot of non-commercial but critically pleasing stuff
