  • hmm boring.

    was hoping for an explosion.

  • I find it amazing how the wing and engines wobble about freely-it looks as if there is a loose screw. Thumbs up if you agree!

  • now i am hungry for chinese food!

  • Extreme 747 takeoff in HISTORY!

    watch?v=sQCZYKcN1k4

  • So sad to see these leave the Air China fleet.

  • is that the top deak ??

  • Is there in-flight entertainment?

  • You were in economy right? Business class is usually the top deck. Also, I'm not sure if this was a policy in 2005, but now, Air China's seating policy is that you get your seating assignment during check-in at the airport, not online. Now, do they give you a seat or do you pick your own seat according to availability? If it is according to availability, then is it like first come first serve, so if you're first in line, you have the opportunity to the frontmost economy chair?

  • hi, i have a question for you.... in this plane have a lcd tv for each passenger o is one big lcd for all the passenger?

  • i think, i remember "in-seat" srceens.

  • @MOTTA1988 boeing 747 planes economy class only have big screens for all passengers unless its business class or first class

  • its not boring, its nice!

  • If you say so. I'm glad you like it. Ner thought of such high positive response to this vid. I'm thinking of posting ALL my "Take off" videos? *lol*

  • Yeah, do it! i really like commercial aviaton and commercial airplanes :) So it would be nice :D

  • Whatever... I bet none of you could feel the differenz between one of thoes engines, if he's sleeping like a baby in the middle row of the jet.

So, what's the problem? In first case, this thing has to work. Everything else... pah! ;-)

  • I prefer General Electric engines on Boeing 747

  • @raykrislianggi

I second that! GE-CF6s are the most stable engines IMO, never heard of a crash due to them unlike the Trent 895s on the 777-200ER!

  • @EmadIV But still, PW and RR did a great job in pioneering early turbojet and turbofan engines while GE was still behind in 1950s. On A330, I choose PW engines over RR and GE, and for Boeing 777, I choose RR over PW and GE, and on 747, I choose GE over RR and PW.

  • I think its P&W

  • Comment removed

  • there PWs...

  • graveDee i thought all electrnoics were to be turned off before takeoffs and landings?

  • So what? ;-)

  • on all flights i've been onboard, the flight attendants would go round and check if all meal tables are kept, and electronics turned off.

they said electronics are to be turned off as it may affect the communications between the aircraft and the airport.

  • Yes. That's absolutely right. But also, I filmed the starting and landing sequences at every single flight I did. Nothing happend. Hey, I also forget to turn off my cellphone during the WHOLE last flight I did... guess what happened... ;o)

  • what happened?

  • *lol* ... nothing!!! =)

  • LOL =P

  • 5 Stars! Check out my videos!

  • Cool

    sehr gutes video!!

  • I love the sound of those Rolls Royce engines.

  • Those are Pratt and Whitney Engines.

  • How do you recognize them? P&w, GE, Rolls Royce

  • patriotboys,

You can recognize the engines by (1) looking at the nacelle. That is the cover housing that holds the engines. You can be that the wing attachments are rounded, not straight like the GE. So its not GE. Then, the back of the engine does not look like that of the RR engines. The RR engines come to a stop at the end without any further engine, due to the wide opening at the end. So that only leaves on engine, the PW. Look at pictures and you will see.

  • In Spanish is not Beijing ,is Pekín

  • wow cool lol

  • How long was the flight? Great video, by the way!

  • I can hardly remember,... about 11 or 12 hours...

  • Interesting that you used the old name of the city of Beijing. I love the 747-400, awesome jetliner.

  • I am German. And that's the name in our language.

  • Cool.

  • Man,it is a wondere that those engines dont fall off the wing!!

  • hey bro! really cool vid!! do you remeber your seat or row number??

    greetings!

  • Hi there, I just searched my boarding passes. There is a "11K" after a chinese sign. It was economy! Not business or else!

  • thanx alot bro!! greetings from mexico! (in my next fly a wanna get seat on that area)

  • Thank you all! I'm glad you enjoy my vid so much! Greets!

  • I'm guessing this is China Airlines?

  • It was "Air China".

  • Absolutely love the 747-400 wing. Possibly one of the most efficient in aviation behind the 777 and the A380. Plus, it's great flexing abilities means it never gets boring to watch. Getting to watch two giant turbofans producing 60,000 pounds of thrust is a treat too. These are PW engines.

  • Nice vid, nice seat too. I'm usually at the part of the plane where you CAN'T see the engines!

  • The engines seem to be Pratt & Whitney, right? The GE ones are noisier.

  • Those are Pratt and whitney, yes...you can tell by the inlet that they are. Lufthansa 744s are GE powered...compare them to these and you will see the difference. And yes, the GEs have a different noise to them.

  • Nothing quite like a 747 taking off. Love those engines. The 744 IMO is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever designed. It will be sad to see them go when they do.

  • The engines look shinny and new. Looks like alot of construction going on with endless cranes in the background.

  • See that wing flex....747 takeoff, controlled insanity...Nice video....

  • which airline is this?

  • Check out my "Tags" ... it was CHINA AIR!

  • it isn't boring why do you think that it's a nice take off

  • I'm not that AIRLINE or AIRPLANE specialist ... I only enjoy flying around the globe! ^^

  • very nice.
