just a question guys. i got the 5 pack xcom series on steam for 15 euro's. heres what works. ufo defense. enforcer. interceptor. and that other one. the only one that work is actually xcom apocalypse. my screen goes black i can hear the intro but a white box comes up and it says 35 KHz / 70 Hz ? i take it its my screen? would really like some help because this game is just so epic i loved it so damn much :3
i actually picked this game up from Gamestop a while ago for 0.99 cents... They had sooo many left over copies they were practiaclly giving it away... lol
@jrag1000 Hi, they were practically giving it away because this game sucks! UFO Defense has never really been expanded for the better. The old motto holds true - KISS......Keep It Simple Stupid!
The game engine was very solid and a step in the right directon, i particularly liked the drag and drop uniform and the way is showed up realtime on your players.
@jrag1000 It had some improvements granted. But overall the game was steering towards a RTS game...everything about it wanted to speed up gameplay. Nothing wrong with that in some cases, but X-Com is a solid turned-based game and I think best enjoyed that way. The movement and group movement was way too wacky and at times unpredictable. But hey, that's why we talk about it

Interceptor is actually good, it's just very different. Think a flight sim/space shooter combined with the strategy element of X-Com. It's unique really. Other games like X-Wing and such have the sim, but not the strategy element. You just play scripted missions.
Brainsuckers are just annoying compared to poppers. try finding a popper in small room that goes BOOM!!! and kills half the team and the other half nearly dead. happened to me lots of times.
This is on of my favorite games, lots of memories from playing it and luckily i found it on steam and bought the complete pack with all the x-com games and i never regreted it :)
Another bad place for combat is the Rescue Stations. Like it says in the descriptions, it's mostly wide open areas. On the ground floor, the only good places to take cover are to hide inside the Construction Vehicles.

Compared to Chryssalids and Tentaculats from the previous games, brainsuckers are complete pushovers. Especially in real time. But even if you're playing the broken turn-based mode for some reason, just go prone. Suckers can't attach themselves to prone agents for some reason.
Only flying vehicles can get to a UFO crash site. Even if a UFO crashes on the street, I believe, you still need a flying vehicle to land there and start the mission.

Only flying vehicles can get to a UFO crash site. Even if a UFO crashes on the street, I believe, you still need a flying vehicle to land there and start the mission.
