I dont know how religion worked its way into this topic, but I believe that the name "god is an astronaut" is a reference to the idea that earth may have been populated by or visited by some sort of Alien race that had interactions with early humans and that these encounters shaped our myths and religious beliefs (angels= aliens) .....

Most of the evil in the world is caused by religions. All damn religions are fake!!! they all just want to get our money and they just want to lock us. Or does anyone really believe, that several gods came to earth and one created christians, one muslims and so on?? i don´t give a s..t which religion persons have or where they come from, the character is the only thing that counts.

@anenia LaVeyan Satanists don't actually believe in "Satan". They just use the mythological character (that Christians have used as a tool for fear) and use it as a symbol for "freedom". So they technically are atheists.

Theistic Satanists aren't atheist, of course.

@anenia - there are many types of satanism. Some belive in Satan as a deity (Church Of Set), for others its just a symbol. Satanic atheists are the second type - they are more like open minded hedonist's. Generally, You dont have to belive in any god - it's a matter of individual preference, but it doesnt mean you cant be a satanist. It's more like a way of live than just a religion.
