Hey are getting closer to detecting the Higgs BOSON!. 2 independent teams have registered very close probability values that indicates that the Higgs BOSON is there. They have to crunch data for one more year to get irrefutable validation of their findings. THat means our understanding of what happened @ BIG BANG will really take off from there. The Standard Model will get ratified as the basic particle physics theory once this happens.
