oh. my. fucking. GOD!!!!!!!!! I have to get a fucking implant tomorrow!! im nervous as fuck!!!!!!!!!! I regret getting into a fight and loose my toth in the fist plase :S:S:S:S:S:S:S omfgg!!
I have two implants, one of which has experienced loss of bone above the implant site. I would like to have this issue addressed, although the implant is functional. I have been told grafting around an implant is not an option; does this mean I need to have the implant extracted, the bone (and maybe the gum) augmented, a new implant post placed, and a new crown made? Thanks you.
@tsosy2009 extraction and bone grafting can be in the $900 range. Implant surgery can be from $2000-2500. Then a crown has to be done by a restorative dentist. This can run around $2000. Other parts of the country may be more and can also be less.
@lugana1000 Her real tooth may have been fine but she had bone loss and that makes the tooth lose and the bone can't grow back on its own so they have no choice but to take it out.
@bookmarks103 I was JUST abt to mention that! MC playin in the b/g... kinda wouldn't be so bad haha. Guess they ask you if you like a certain artist or to bring your own...?
@brenchtoast44 have you heard of local anesthetic? It works wonders for allowing procedures to be done in a PAIN FREE fashion. That and premedication with naproxen sodium (Anaprox) and keeping a level for 24hrs with a bump of dihydrocodone/APAP (vicodin) as needed makes for a very smooth post op course.
@perieau Oh yeah I have but I dont know any time I go to the dentist and got to get some procedure done I still feel alot of it. I still think that looks horribly painful though I would hate to have this done without anesthetic haha!
wow if only we all had excellent dentists like you, your craftsmanship was outstanding and Im so impressed. I would like to get some implants but am worried about the quality of my dentist experience and care. In short I have little faith .
I would like to find out where you are and come and see you if thats possible?
okay so if you have braces &nd you have to get an implant once that procedure is done will the implanted tooth shift as the braces straigthen my mouth? i don't know if i am explaining this well
been lucky enough to wear a bridge and crowns over the root canaled teeth all of these years. (23)this procedure looks so expensive and painful. I'd love to have my teetth back one day.. don't know if this is wise. did you not use a stent to place the implant drill? It is critical that implants are placed correctly,
Who covers the cost of the failure, the patient or the surgery and at what cost. Will there be a discount if the patient pays or is it under the same course of treatment that neither party pays or the surgery can claim back of insurances. If a 2nd failure happens is it a case of the patient has to wear a partial denture
The failure of the tooth is a consequence of time and the nature of a root canal treated tooth. The patient covers the cost of the procedure, dental benefits may help as defined by the policy. The implant is very unlikely to fail.
I have lost both my upper left incisors and my right front upper incisor has moved but is now stable. I have suffered with bad priodontal disease and have bone resession and that too is stable. I plan to have a £10,000 make over in 2yrs (implants). I spoke to my dentist and he says to replace the bone loss I,d have to have a piece of bone from my hip. Whats this procedure called. I have also had a course of anti-smoking patches prescribed by the hygeneist which has worked.
Get a second opinion on the hip grafting. There are plenty of options that don't include a surgery on your hip to harvest bone from your illiac crest.
I've heard that in some cases that Coral implant, injection or grafting can be used and the draw back to this is that I will be forever spitting out small peices of coral. The reason that I'm waiting for 2yrs is (A) Waiting for my savings to mount up and (B) To get the blood supply back to the damaged areas. I've read and seen (via PC) that particulate onlay grafting can come from the Chin,Jaw,Tibia,Hip and even a cadaver. My Dentist is I believe "old school" so I plan to shop around aswell.
I don't expect a Hollywood Smile cos that would be to silly. But just get back the smile Ive lost, I may even get a little extra for my money (Allo Derm graft, 1 or 2 extra implants to the posterior teeth). I know that this type of Dental treatment is expensive but I think 10/12k should get me looking somewhat normal again, then I can move on In life. Thank for the advice.
I am located in the UK but still some way off the amont of money I want to spend, plus I want to get the blood supply back into the gumline to give the graft"if any" the best chance of sucsess. I worked out my savings an this is the best solution which I'm happy with. My Dentist said that it would be done on the NHS as private patient "sounds like a quick fix with not much cosmeticaly". There are plenty to go at in the uk, may even get free consultation / Xray. But I know where you are for help.
i have got a hole at the back left higher side of my mouth (last 2 teeth) were my tooth used to be lol but there are fragments up there and the tooth at the side of it has decayed into itself were i can feel inside my tooth from the side im a little bit wary about going to the dentists as im not sure what will be involved with the teeth/fragments are so far back how can it be removed safely cheers for any info, your videos make going the dentist less daunting as long as they have your skills.
Your best bet outside of doing nothing would be to have your mouth examined and that would include xrays. You should be able to get a line on any problems you might have and also be made aware of your alternatives.
I have to get an implant on one of my upper front teeth. I don't want a bridge. I'd like to get an implant. I hear some dentist schools can do this procedure for about 1/3 the cost that of a private practice dentist would charge. I have a HUGE cavity in this tooth and it's barely hanging in there.
Nice esthetic result. Initial Sx, did you do a marrionette suture to hold the alloderm on place?did not see if you had gotten primary closure, looks like it was just gently placed between the facial plate and the underlying mucosa. great 2wk postop, any bioactive mediators used? thnx for sharing.
No bioactive mediators other than the BMP in the bone graft. Actually I rarely do the AlloDerm membrane because with the bone graft there is typically no need. Hope you subscribe so that you can see more procedures when they come up!
wait what happened in this vid? like how come the dentist took ur tooth out and do somethingy up in ur gums? then put it out? what did the dentist do?
The tooth had a failing root canal so it was removed and the socket grafted with AlloDerm and bone graft in preparation for the implant which you see is done later.
estha super intheresanthe el methodo aunque se ve que si es por un thiempo incomodo pero seguro ii despues de thodo se ve realmenthe como si fuese su dienthe, wow!!
Its a bone graft putty of autologous Dynagraft D 60%, Freeze Dried Cortical Bone powder 40% and some tetracycline powder all mixed up to look like crushed garlic.
is the new teeth bigger than else? just a little bit i can see...

Why you put that membrane stuff in after extract? Why can't just put bone graft stuff into the extraction hole without that membrane thing..?
sorry I am noob at this topic. Thanks.
