@EgaoNoGenki I've never really checked it, but it's got a 2bbl carb and a really low rear end gear (like a 283 or so). It's a real highway cruiser. Thanks!
In 1978 I had a 1970 bonneville brougham.Fully loaded. It was white with a green vinyl top.455 4bbl.It came from florida and was in perfect condition until it got hit.The only drawback was it got 7 miles per gallon.
Very sweet time capsule. My dad worked for AC Delco and we would get Catalinas. We had the 70 wagon with the same exact motor. It was strong and my brother (before he got his license) would drive it up and down the driveway 100 times a night, moron. Beautiful car here. Thank god the original owner of your car did everything right. You won't find another.
@restoscott That's awesome!! It's good to at least have memory's of these cars because nothing of this quality will ever be made again. Thanks for watching!!
Love the horizontal speedometer! I saw a 2 door like this for sale today...if my lotto numbers hit I'm buying it for a friend and getting myself a '73 convt I know.
@fofo4meeee What's a blot pattern? Maybe I can help, but I'm not sure what that is. I have the complete GM shop service manual for 70 Pontiac's. Thanks
Oh, man! Immaculate exterior, no split on the passenger-side dash or steering wheel; excellent interior, upholstery, and headliner looks clean as can be, bumper and nosepiece without apparent pitting or surface rusting/bubbling, and sounds beautiful to boot! MMMMmmm, nothing like that V8 purr...! An OEM specimen to be viciously envied. My compliments, Trex1268! She's a beauty, no doubt about it. In obtaining her, you landed the flaming triple sevens, so-to-speak!
Very nice video, and as far as the Pontiac Catilina...what can I say. I bought a 1970 Cat in 1982 for either 800 dollars or 1000. I adored that car it was bright yellow with a white hardtop roof. I can't recall how much gas it held just know a lot and back in them days a Gal of gas was less than a buck, I put 21 dollars in it once and it was still asking for more. The AC in that car was so cold my girl friend would have to wear a sweater when we drove around Alex, LA. Thnks 4 D Memories.
hello i'm 14 and found one like this for 600 bucks alomost identical (much worse though) this car would be my daily driver i was wondering if you could give me any info on it especially gas mileage and reliability i would appreciate it thanks and god bless
This is incredible! Im almost positive that this was the first car I remember growing up. Mom said it was a Tempest, but as far as I can figure out, the Tempest never had tail lights that looked liked this car, and that is what I definitely remember. Am I correct? I think my grandmother had an Executive which was very similar to this car except the tail lights had silver lines making a check pattern (square, not diamond). My first car at 16 was a 74 Ventura that was awesome! :)
@JohnMphs I'm not sure on what Tempest look like either. Executive's, Bonneville's, and Catalina's all look very similar to me. When I want to look at different years I usually go to eBay and type it in. There should be plenty to look at. Good luck!!
I love your car man. I'm on my third 1970 catalina four door . All were just pretty much beaters, but this one I've owned for 16 years and plan on keeping. I just love pontiacs and I am searching for a new body for my catalina. I also have a pretty nice 1971 Buick Electra 225. Both are on you tube. trashman642002
@trashman642002 Sweet! I'll check them out! I almost bought a 68 Elecrtra. Was an old mans car with 3000 original miles on it. Someone scooped it up. Pontiac's are the best. Take care.
@sldl04 I fully agree, but it's that way with all of them. I'm my opinion 1970 was the last year of the good American cars. I couldn't even imagine being able to go to a dealers lot and get something like this.
Agreed. When we got into the early 70's, American companies started to turn out some below-quality vehicles. I remember the old Pintos, Vegas, etc. Even my Dad's '75 Chevy truck was trouble. It started to rust out 3 or 4 years after he bought it.
Man my 1st car at age 16 was my dads 1970 Maroon 4 door Catalina 400,i loved that car, that huge gas peddle when hit at the tip top to the floor would smoke the whole block dam near,,,,thx for the memories, btw, only car that ever beat me on the highway was a 1975 2door Grand Marquis with a 460 lol...my brother had a 1970 Buick Electra 225 with a 455 and he still couldnt beat that Catalina lol.
@Trex1268 Man what i'd do to get my hands on another one of them 70 Cats,i was young and didnt realize what i had,i ended up takin the back end out of a 78 Monte Carlo with that big chrome nose on the Lina due to me lookin at a girl in the bus stop lol,,,man i miss my Lina.
@FunkmassaVip Ouch! That sucks. Their still around but hard to find in good condition, not impossible though. I also used to have a 70 Cat when I was in my 20's. To this day it's was the best running car I've ever owned. I bought it from an X girlfriend after she hit a Yugo with it. The Yugo was literally ripped in half. The Cat just had a wrinkled fender. In my opinion 1970 was the last year for the great American cars. Good luck to ya!
@Trex1268 I agree and i dont feel bad for that Yugo lol,,that Cat probably drove right through it lol,,,,my homemade go kart was faster than a Yugo lol.
Now that's a car my friend. I used to have a 69 Bonnie, but was in terrible shape. Never ran right at high speeds, but always ran. Too bad I still didn't have it, I'd sell you the engine. 428 Pointiac with a 800cfm Q-jet 4 barrell. Pretty rare, but she is long gone now. I think that thing had about 30 ash trays in it. GREAT car again my friend. RIP Pontiac.
@bisquik3006 Damn that's too bad. I'd love to have one of those motors. As you said they are very rare. I'm sure someone probably pulled it and it's sitting in a racer in their garage.
I remember this car when it was for sale on Ebay. Gorgeous '70. I'm glad you took that ugly plastic bug catcher or whatever it was off the hood. Take care of her.
@pravoslavny Wow you do remember it! I still have the bug catcher laying in the garage. It probably served a real valid purpose in the area it came from, but here it's not that necessary. I told the original owners I'd always take care of it. I'll have it till I die. Thanks
i had the exacl same car in 1980 ,,a amazing ride,,i got clock by the cops at 130 milles per hour and there was still some pwer left in it ,,

A very easy way to compare models of different years is by going to a site called oldcarbrochures. It has a huge database of pictures.

The front bumper on that thing weighs more than one of those pussy prius's.
