@IsItRuddorRoach having mulyiple tanks means you can have all sorts of different kinds of fish like a ton of different fish....they sometimes figet...for instance black mollies and an oscar...the oscar would eat the molly.
Actually it's not that much work to keep a few aquariums like this, I don't change water that often, usually only 2/3 every 1-2 month for the bigger tanks and maybe very forthnight on smaller tanks! Depends how much fish I keep in them, more fish and babytanks are more frequently changed, I also keep snails and shrimps to help me with the clean up of algae and food-leftovers!
The only things I can say to you : WONDERFUL, SPECTACULAR, ELEGANT, MAGNIFICENT aquarium room I have ever seen in my whole life. I wish I could have one of yours in my room. Thank you so much for posting.
nice fish tanks man!. also answering to aquamonos question... to keep plants in a good condition you need water temperature to be about 80-84 degrees farenheit. and a good filtration system like bult in filtration. and when cleaning tanks dont disrupt the roots on the plants when using the turbo vac to clean stones. and buy some snails that are tiny to help the plant.
Plants need plenty of light at least 10 hours a day. Snails and shrimps will take care of algae, shit and other debris. I don't clean that often, only 2-3 times a year when I siphon up the shit on top of the sand and change about 2/3 of the water. I also let the plants stand in one place and don't move them around. Some of my bigger tanks have been standing for several years without thorough cleaning! Also don't overpopulate with fish!
dude nice tanks very clean.... but for you to have all those tanks that clean clearly shows that you have no life you need to go out and get a girl man
I have some cleaning help from Amano shrimps and snails!About girls... I stay in Thailand for 5 months a year, no shortage of willing girls down there! :) I need to get home and relax and take care of my fish to recharge my batteries! ;)
you should see my school!! they have a LOT of fish from oscars, to cross breds, to lion fish and eels!!they have about 30 aquariums the smalles ones would be 18-20 gallons and they also have a shark that breeds without a male shark. it lays 2 eggs every week but only 4 have survived
nice tank but fill with lots of little fish. hmmm i'm wondering are those a baby fish of some sorts or are they some small species of fish like the tetras?
man the only thing i need right now for my aquarium is a friggin 48 inch lighting system XD. Lol i had enough money to buy 1 of those lighting system, but i used it all on the discus D:.
Well, they do litter a lot when you have hundreds of fryes in a tank, that's for sure!
I "vacuum" the bottom with a hose 2-3 times a month in my breeding tanks, but much less in my bigger tank, maybe only 2-3 times during 6 months! I have noticed though since I started to use Amano shrimps in my aquariums, there is not only less algae but less droppings as well! I also have a lot of snails in all my aquariums, they'll help to eat up some droppings as well!
They take different kinds of algae, shrimps picks algae that are threadlike and bushy whilst snails take the flatter algae! Some fish like Otocinclus and other algae-eating fish are very good too. Different species specialise in different algae! Some snails reproduce themselves very quickly though and when tanks are clean of algae they might start eating the fresh plants as well!
In my country Sweden, they are sold in almost every fish-shop at about 3.5-4 US$ a piece. They are almost transparent so can be difficult to spot in a tank! Usually sold at 2-3 cm length but may grow up to about 4 cm.
Not to be kept with bigger fish though, that might consider them as food!
oh. i was thinking of putting them wiht my betta frys... since they get dirty so fast. and i clean the tanks once a week. i was thinking of getting a shrimp... or getin a air pump so it can push everything to a corner so i can just siphon. but iono. still deciding.
I have airpump spongefilters as well as shrimps, you still have to siphon up some dirt, although maybe less than without the shrimps. depends on the size of the tank as well, bigger the better!
I start with about 15 gallon for spawning and when the fryes are about 5 mm I'll move them to several bigger tanks up to about 50 gallon. They'll need about a gallon each when they are at a sellable size of 4 cm.
Remember that in one spawn there can be 200 or more fryes! If you only have one 10 gallon tank you have to reduce the fryes to about 10-15 or they'll not grow well and pollute the tank with droppings in no time!
oh yeah. i know. i had about 200 or so. but then about half got swimming disorder. so i culled them(u should know wat that is) and then i had about a hundred. so then igave most away to my friends who are also breeders. i got like 18 or so now. they gettin big. but still slowly. hehehe

How do you keep the Aponogeton madagascariansis ? In my tank, they survive only a few months.
zrshwe 2 years ago
You have to let them rest during the dry season!
Take up the root, and cut off all leaves!
Let it rest in a sealed plastic container filled with wet peat for 4-5 months.
Then you can plant the root again and new leaves will sprout after a few days!

like Helisoma nigricans, Lymnaea stagnalis, Planorbis corneus etc ?

Do you have any experience of this.

I have no luck keeping live plants long...I'm sure its my lighting..any suggestions?
buggyvang 4 years ago
Yes, you must have enough lighting, but also don't move around the plants, it can take months or sometimes years before they grow into thick stands!
I only clean my aquariums 2-3 times a year, by sucking up some of the shit and debris that has gathered on top of the gravel.
I change water 2/3 once a month sometimes less, depends on the size of the tank, smaller tanks get dirtier much quicker!
