I really hate how Mayan chronology is broken up into different time periods... classic, preclassic, late-preclassic, etc... as if anything changes with them technologically.

@welcomegohome there is some change, it's not accelerated like Moores law due to lack of the transistor/computers. So, basically, they did all that astronomy, engineering, architecture,astronomy, agriculture and warfare the old fashioned way. By thinking. Quite a talent they had.
