  • @danNYx86 yea check out jay z bizzy bone you belong to the city they sample this song i had the jay z one the only jay z song i had it not really that good but bizzy bone is ok

  • Don Johnson: The best thing to grace New York City since Babe Ruth came over from Boston

    Side note:

Lets hear it for the time in America when it was not only legal, but totally cool as hell to smoke cigarettes on TV! I never smoked (...tobacco), but The Don almost convinced me to start because he looked like a sophisticated & sexy (no homo) hardass who was essentially saying: "You know what? F**k it" which, in itself was pretty much the theme of the entire 1980's & Reagan Administration

  • @Slotten68 go yankees

  • As "one of the kids of today"..i amtotally in love with song!! i loaded it on my i pod and i walk down the streets of new york with glen blasting in my ears.. and i cant help grabbing and spinning on a lightpole..TOTALLY CLASSIC!!

  • Not only is this song just so totally awesome beyond magical proportions but it comes with one of the coolest TV shows to ever be! Miami Vice was such an awesome series in the 80s! I remember when all the guys I knew in school would dress in Crockett's attire! Oh what a time it was back then! You would have to have lived in the 80's to really understand what it meant to live in that time. There was a magic feeling everywhere you went. It was a beautiful time to be alive. Long live the 80's! :-)

  • I heard this on Drawn Together. Currently watching all the seasons. I never realized how good of a show this is! Oh, btw, great song.

  • @alNness lol the Xander 'coming out' story? Brought me here too :-)

  • sound is blown out

  • Living down town in the part of the city I have always wanted to be;, being happy right now with my life;...ya I guess I kind of belong to the city. I just don't have one of those Don Johnson suits...yet..he he!

  • I wanna listen to this song on my IPod while I'm walking down Times Sq. at 3:00 AM.

  • @NYYankeeFanInNJ Pardon me as I swipe this idea. Thank you! Haha!

  • @NYYankeeFanInNJ Better yet, go old school with a Sony Walkman and cassette tape (circa 1985).

  • @NYYankeeFanInNJ I gave you the thumbs up but, my Yankee fan friend.. this song is forever associated with the '86 Mets :)

  • @NYYankeeFanInNJ The feeling would not be the same though as it was in the 80's.

  • lol same Love drawn together they need to bring it back

  • ROCKY RADIO........... A classic indeed. Very strange thing in this world is people from Miami take a vacation to NYC and People from NYC take a vacation to Miami! HAHA it is true!

  • When I was a kid I used to watch Miami Vice on french TV, and I dreamt many times : the image of a cop walking alone.... Thirty years after, I'm sure I won't be a cop, but I'm still remembering these images and this music. A real good "souvenir". Thanks.

  • Is this the best music video of all time?

  • miami vice was the best show.

  • atleast I can say I was born in the 80s, but even though I still love 80s movies and music almost as much as the 90s!

  • i use to sing with a heavy metal band... one night i told the guys i wanted to do this song.. they are all younger than me and when they heard this song they were not really into it.. i went ahead and jammed with another band one night and we jammed this song.. it was awesome!!!

  • EVERYTIME I DRIVE AT NIGHT, THIS SONG PLAYS IN MY CAR....MIAMI IN THE EARLY 80S.....WHAT ELSE CAN BE SAID?

  • I was this man in another time and another dimension.

  • WTF happened to saxophones in pop music after the 80's?

  • @Witechawklit

There's a bit in the Edge Of Glory and the Hair by Lady Gaga, but yea, you're right, you don't get to hear them as often anymore.

  • Holy cow I bet people were wondering just when Miami Vice would come on and then get all anxious for it. I know I was even though I was born in 1985. You Belong To The City fuckin' ROCKS!!!!!

  • I just can not get enough of the 80's. They were the absolute best of times for me and the whole country.

  • "1986 New York Mets: A Year to Remember" sent me here. LGM!

  • i wanna play the saxophone based on this song...

  • Wow, how good was this series, everything from the photography to the music, the clothes to the locations.Never to be repeated unfortunately.

  • Where can I find this exact version of the song? The sax in this one seems more energetic than the versions available on iTunes.

  • @Sporc this exact version is available on the Miami Vice soundtrack...don't know if its still out there somewhere....but the whole thing is most EXCELLENT!!!!

  • One of the sexiest song tracks ever ... just bad and sexy. Like Miami Vice

  • DIVINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • entertaining series it made Don a millionare and power boat racer

  • This one of my favorite song last summer ;)

  • what awesomeness!!!!!

  • Awesome sax solo!!!

  • One of the BADDEST sounds ever produced, against the backdrop of the CITY and the phonomenon that was MIAMI VICE ...

  • When I was in high school, I ran track for 3 years. This was one of my favorite running songs during practice.

  • Can I time travel back to the 80's???

  • @jorgecbooc ,80S STILL GOING ON LIKE TODAY IN THE EYE GOD.

  • Damn Miami Vice had the best opening scene ever. Who's behind me? Seeing 2 girls asses.

  • @roosevelthighschool ...okay even when i was 10 i was like 'oh bums'...

  • @debndonny and hi in roosevelt im chesterfield twp

  • people have the delusion that the 60's was the great era for rok and roll but the 80's offered a great array of good music when i think back it probally was the best era for the wide array of great artist's, don't get me wrong the 60's and 70's still had lots of irraplaceable hits and bands.

  • After viewing this video, I was thinking just how much our world has changed since this came out. Amazing, weird and surreal.

  • Thank you ChrisLXXII....a video/song combo that rates as a cult classic......

  • drawn together brougth me here!! :D i love this song!! *-*

  • Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Beatiful!!!

  • The 80s might look dated to the kids of today. (60s did to me too as a kid)

    But MIAMI VICE is iconic.

the tone, the editing, the look & feel of the show honestly changed the way stylized movies and TV shows were made FOREVER.

Example.. Michael Bay owes alot to miami vice.

  • Smoking makes you look cool... It makes you die young... Which are both very tough!

  • Herd this song in a supermarket yesterday, googled the lyrics which sent me here!

  • wtc

  • This should've been music for Grand Theft Auto.

  • @HipHopRenaissance100 I think they did a cheap version of this song for Vice City. When the game is loading there is a song that sounds very familiar to this song. Its when they show the cars, boats, and other cut scenes in the beginning of the game.

  • Drawn Together also turned me onto this song

  • The god damn 80's sent me here.

  • This video reminds me of Miami Vice and Don Johnsons crappy attempt at singing lol

  • @purgatoryrain c,mon man cannot blame him for trying!

  • This has to be one of the BEST Miami Vice songs, ever!

  • The years between 1985 and 1989 were the most unforgettable times of my life. I was born in 1985 and lived through the end of the 80's. Great times were had by all.

  • @roosevelthighschool How do you remember it lol? I was born in 78 and only remember the 80's cause I was older. You were in diapers for that time lol.

  • @CocacolaCowboy1919 Did you not read my comment? I said I was born in 1985. The greatest times of my life were then. I'd give anything to go back.

  • @roosevelthighschool I did read...did you read mine? I was asking how you remember it. You were 0-4. I don't remember when I was 0-4 much.

  • @Mmmathers4

Fuck yea! Love that show! Damn shame it was cancelled.

  • Was Miami Vice a movie or a television show? I forgot if it was a movie that was made for TV. 1986 seems like only yesterday. Or is it that I'm just getting old?

  • Classssssic!

  • damnn SPEECHLESS, such a good son !!!

  • Ah songs like this, baker street, the heat is on, and maneater , with the sax playing part of the songs reminde me of the night time, especialy if it sounds kind of muffled like its echoing in a basment or off the walls of a city, love this song, the rift remindes me of one movie off hbo my aunt taped for me with howard the duck, and the sax played in the background as it mentioned that howard the duck was up next on the list.

  • @manga12 Agreed. 80's sax parts are what made 80's music so amazing.

  • this is a cool song with or without the miami vice imagery wish the sax player got more credit for his work though he truly makes the song come alive.

  • In case anyone is wondering, TheCesar340 wrote this in Spanish:

Comparing an awesome song like this with the crap they make today, is like comparing the face with the ass.

  • married with children brought me here!

  • @nordicbeast Al and Steve brought me here..
