I saw the movie Australia when it first came on Netflix. I loved the movie! I've wanted to visit Australia for a very long time, this movie made me even more want to visit. Nice song from Sir Elton John.

I like the movie, I like this song, but I have a slight issue with a song about the aussie drover being sung by a pom... Please don't flame me, I am a HUGE fan of Elton John, and I understand there is a connection between England and Australia, but they are seperate countries now, and someone like John Williamson would have been a better choice of artist for this.

Have fun...come to queensland (that's where i'm from) and enjoy the sun, beach and wonderful food and the aboriginal culture. If you are going up near Far North Queensland...I reccommend the Tablelands and Kuranda...beautiful scenery... if you're heading to the cities, like Sydney and Melbourne...the Sydney Opera house is a favourite as is the Sydney Harbour bridge...Have a great time...and We aussies look forward to seeing you in July!!

This is a BEAUTIFUL movie- in composition, in acting, in music- just beautiful all around. Yet with all the "quick fixes" of American cinema lately- seems no one wants to EXPERINCE a story, a movie anymore- everyone wants to be amused and excited and gtfo of the theatre. Sorry to sound so cynical, but methinks if this was relased back when Dances With Wolves was around- same run-time almost btw- it might have done better....

I'm from Texas, as well, and I think that the movie *Australia* is a superb film, and that definitely includes the soundtrack and songs. Hugh and Nicole did very good jobs (as indeed did the rest of the cast), and Brandon Walters was robbed of at least an Oscar *nomination*.  I'm appalled that the film didn't do better here in the States. Thanks for posting this song and the accompanying video compliation (really nice!) for us to enjoy!! ;)

Do you mean Elton and Taupin? Actually, Taupin was featured on the cover of an Elton CD for the first time with Elton's latest release, The Captain and the Kid. They are very much still together; it's just that Captain and the Kid did not sell very well, despite receiving rave critical reviews, and Elton may be giving up his enthusiasm for releasing new product, as he feels he can't do better than Captain and the Kid at this point in his career.

I simply cannot understand why this wonderful film was not as successful as some others; there is absolutely no rhyme or reason --- how in heck could a film about a MALL COP make more money than Australia --- to me, there is just no comparison. Australia was beautiful, well-written, well acted, beautifully filmed, visually stunning and the music --- well, that was just fantastic. I do hope that a soundtrack is released! Thanks for this tid-bit from Sir Elton.
