It turned Peter into what he THOUGHT was cool, if Peter new how to be cool, he would be cool, he doesn't and thus he became Emo Parker... This is the turning point where I almost left the theater... seriously Sam Raimi did not know what to do with the venom symbiote. He publicly said that he hated the character. Up to this point it was a movie similar to spiderman 1, but with the jazz dancing and this scene, it was all over.
