they should have brought in the militair . we have send them too all parts of the world but when action is needed in UK itself they are nothing to be seen, because of politics.
the army should have used tanks and non riot gear but war gear and dealed with them like they were talibani .
And if those people over there like to riot as much as they do .. they should have been send too afghanistan and let them riot against the taliban and alqaida .

@jeoseeker are you a mug? and was there need to swear? of course they didnt! i would say go and look at their contract they signed, no where does it say kill innocents. It would probably say protect their homeland and do what they are told. Yes there are accidental killings, but there are not troops going into villages and killing UNARMED or non targeted people on purpose, that would not help why we are there, trying to put afghan forces back in control. why dont u join up and do what they do?

Sky calls it a riot but BBCs report was less sensational & more insightful/balanced. Clearly, there were reasons for community fear & anger at the police, especially with recent corruption revelations. The violence, arson & looting are indefensible (reminds me a little of some peaceful protests in the 80s tainted by the bovver boys coming from nowhere at the end to kick in a few heads), but the cause & fixing the problems are what matter...& to those jumping to conclusions-just don't...
