I vividly remember Adric dying even though I was only 6 at the time, it was a very traumatic moment for me LOL I think he was one of my very first TV crushes!! The Doctor needs another Adric :)

Adric was a very underrated companion, I think. Even so, his tragic death was one of the most poignant moments of the classic series and further cemented the TARDIS crew of that time as a family, a family who had lost one of their own

Where he was an old man who lived for a very long time, thanks to BTC.

That would probably make a good new series episode where the 11th Doctor meets a "powerful", BTC, old man in prehistoric earth who wants revenge on him and he later learns is someone he knows.

I would love to see Adric back, as well. It would be interesting for the Doctor to have a guy companion for a while. They are still pretty rare. Although if the Dr saved him at that moment, they couldn't bring Waterhouse back, because Adric would still be a youth, so I like the idea that someone else saved him and taught him to hate the Dr, who would feel guilty for leaving him and have a hard time fighting back. Although, I'd still like to see them join forces after a bit of a row.

i too hope they bring back Adric in new series of the Doctor in 2010. Adric could become a dramatic storyline that the Doctor feels as much regret for not saving Adric as he did not save his own people in the Time Wars. Or Adric could be a new enemy of the Doctors bitter as hell for how the Doctor left him behind.

In the end I decided to hold out for State of Decay - which is Adric's best story with Tom Baker, Romana 2, K9 and vampires, Planet of Fire with Turlough, Peri and Kamelion and Time Flight with Nyssa and Tegan. Episodes of good acting were pretty sporadic in some periods.

Good job. I liked Adric. I wasn't that old when I saw his death and thought it must be a mistake they could fix somehow. Apparently at some point in the sixties Doctor No 2 had two men and one woman as companions and they're reputed to be some of the best (lost) episodes. What do you all think the best Adric Nyssa Tegan story was?

Part of the reason the three companion worked earlier is because Ian or Steven took most of the action sequences because Hartnell was much older.

I think the Best was Logpolis followed by Earthshock.

If anyone should not be back it's Rose. I liked Adric. As soon as the TARDIS had 4 people in it (including the Doctor) the writing got very poor for him. Nyssa was not supposed to be a permanent character, and they should have gotten rid of her like had planned

Adric was written wrong then - there are so many great reasons to bring him back. Time for new villain Adric knew the Doctor like no other companion. He knew the Doctor was hiding many things and not necessarily to protect his companions. Beings of great power hate to share knowledge and that drove Adric to be annoying he was super smart and the Doctor knew it. Imagine a being able to travel in time and not breaking that rule to comeback and save you, if you survived somehow you'd hate him.

The master took over Nyssa's father's body in "keeper of Traken" circa 1980 series and pretended to be her father for an episode or so, her father was a single parent who married a crazy woman who aided the Master unknowingly.

Dear god yes!!!!! Adric is the second best companion of the classic series (second only to the mighty Ace). It would b so cool to see him alive, but that would bring up too many plotholes and paradoxes.

And Adric should be allowed to come back to the current Who series. Just as he had left the escape pod at the very last second (dammit!), perhaps he could have found a way to restore the control device and enter in the last code. It wouldn't be possible to show the Doctor repairing the TARDIS console in time to save Adric because the viewers' perspective is from inside the TARDIS. We don't really know for sure if Adric was still on board.
