i loved the boardwalk. I loved the deli the prices. Good location. cheap prices. It was my favorite budget hotel. I miss the machine with the quarters that push the money to the edge too. Hate that its gone. Aria is nice...
I stayed at the Monte Carlo hotel and I always see the Boardwalk hotel right across my room and smile. So sad it was turned into City Center / Aria & Vrinda. It doesn't even have a city hall. :(
I actually worked there from 96-99. One of the best jobs I had when it came to happiness and stress-free. Any of my old buddies if you happen to watch this, I am Paul who worked mostly in the dice pit on swing shift. Always had fun there and never ever had that feeling that I did not feel like going to work. Some great memories and some of the best people worked there. It had a nice welcome atmosphere that the larger Casinos did not have. I know a lot of tourist will remember and miss it.
That was the first hotel I ever stayed at on a business trip. Fake rollercoaster, huge clown. Prince impersonator. What could you hate? Cant stop progress.... Just leave Slots Of Fun Alone!!!!!!!!
Heart breaking! We stayed there with our Daughter for her 21st Birthday trip. We fell in love with the place! Nice place in a good location. We'll miss it. Thanks for posting this though!
Just prior to the very-soon-to-go Stardust, the Boardwalk was the last casino-hotel in Vegas to have gone the way of the Desert Inn, El Rancho, Hacienda, Aladdin, Sands, Landmark, and Dunes.
Didn't anybody know that the implosion was happening on my mom & dad's wedding anniversary?

I liked the Boardwalk. Yeah it was a older hotel/casino....but it was also the only place in Vegas that had a 24 hour buffet!

Next to be imploded should be the Imperial Palace, I hate that one and it looks so ugly at night.
