It's a very good video. The reign of Louis XVI has always been my favorite period of French history. The royal couple has made many mistakes but they didn't deserve to die like that. Marie-Antoinette was not selfish and Louis XVI was not an incompetent but both they were so young (they were badly advised too). I don't think they were in love but they felt a tenderness for each other.
Its so funny that people are thinking through such movie like this one that Louis XVI was soo in love with her. Thats isn´t right! He was just in love with her from 1773 til maybe a year or two. Til the rumor of Count de Merci of his phimosis starts...
Well I happen to like this movie and I KNOW that they loved one another. It wasn't a passionate love but it was familiar and everyday. I believe their love for each other grew because I know they weren't in love when they married. If you think Louis was soo and love with Marie in the 1938 film that's your opinion. But I happen to think this one does a great job of portraying their love for each other.
A terrible revolution is where the innocent are killed. It defaces and decries everything that the revolution is supposed to stand for. Louis XVI, Maire Antoinette, Nicholas II and Alexandra as well as their children - all killed. God Rest them to his bosom.
this is wonderful. The lovestory betwen the both is not more spectacular but much deeper that the relationship from marie and von fersen. love it. thankyou for posting
I got it from one of the deleted scenes in the film. It was an opera scene that they wanted to cut, but I really think they should have kept it! :) Her dress was so pretty in it! :)
What is amazing is the frenzied, blood-thirsty hatred the Paris crowd had for Marie Antoinette. Why?

I prefer the deep and complicated relationship between Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette than the one between the queen and Fersen.

she's automatically thought of as vain and stupid, e.g 'let them eat cake' (never happened), but the whole thing is so interesting
