MJ, Scottie, Prime Penny/Hill/Shaq. That's got to be the most athletic all-star starting 5 ever. And MJ/Scottie weren't even in their athletic primes in '96.

@mt883 Pippen was still in his prime. Jordan wasn't but he had a better mid range shot at this point in his career. If you want to see the best game, check out 1990 or 1992 when magic came back.

6:42 one of Michael best dunks ever. Same style dunk as the one he used in the 1988 dunk contest to win where he crosses his legs in the air.
People need to stop whining about Shaq not getting the MVP or saying he should of gotten just because he owned the Admiral with that tomahawk jam. So they gave it to Jordan. Big deal. The Admiral owned Shaq first when he blocked Shaq earlier dunk attempt to which Jordan saved the ball from going out of bounds and still got it to Shaq.

@serenitydrummer look at Nowitzki not getting a start in the Dallas All Star Game. The guy's only started one All-Star game and he's one of the top 20 players of ALL-TIME... He should have about 6 starts.

Just look at the unbelievable assembling of talent on the court in this game. Look at the unbelievable level of athleticism on display here..
It just boggles my mind that these dumb ass kids today are so desperate & eager to claim today's players as the greatest that have ever played & claiming MJ played against smaller & unathletic/inferior players is unbelievable LOL!!
How they can see something like this & actually try & imply something so absurd is beyond my comprehension..

Yep, it pisses me off too. The NBA isn't better than it was in the 90s. Sure, the players are more athletic but back in the 80s and 90s, those guys had a lot more 'basketball skills.' Also, they could consistently hit a jump shot unlike a lot of the 'stars' of today.

These guys today aren't more athletic, they just "rely" more on physical ability than their predecessors, which only HIGHLIGHTS how much "lesser" they are than them..
Ask yourself these question:
How many FT line dunkers do we have today? VERY..VERY few..
Have the dunks U see in today's dunk contest & in the actual games, been pioneered, perfected & done ALREADY in the mid 80's thru the 90's?
The answer is a VEHEMENT yes..

With that said, I don't really see a significant decline in the perception of Jordan's impact on the game or histalent; In fact I've seen a resurgence of Jordan appreciation in this day of youtube.

With that said, I haven't seen a significant decline in kids talking about MJ's talent or impact on the game; in fact it's probably as high as ever in this day of youtube and such. MJ also recently was the cover of a popular videogame, which only helped.

speakin of MVP's. during his championship years 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, & 98 the only years he DIDN'T win reg season MVP was 93 to barkley and 97 to malone, both whom he statedly BEAT in the Finals those years

Wow I did not even realize that stat. MJ went 3 for 3 in the MVPs 2 seasons. That kinda shows how dominant he was. And 1997 he should've been regular season MVP. The All-star MVP was debatable as well as he got the only triple double ever in the ASG.

At the 4:23 mark, MJ was doing the hand signal that saluted his fraternity, Omega Psi Phi, also known as the "Q-Dogs." Shaq's a part of the same frat as well. I'm guessing by watching this sequence @ 4:23, MJ was just giving his frat brother some props lol!

MJ was booed because Shaq was playing in his home town (he played high school ball in S.A.) and fans thought he should have won...but Shaq got most of his points in garbage time. MJ said he offered to give Shaq the trophy, but Shaq said keep it.

this was a controversial ending when they awarded MJ the mvp. you could hear some poeple booeing in the background b/c they wanted shaq to win the mvp. i think the right choice was made though

controversial ending my foot. MJ was 6 for 6 fg by like 3rd quarter. MJ deserved it if you have shot 100% fg for more than half of the game. all star game, everyone just jack up the shots & miss tons of them.
