  • GOTTA LOVE THE 90'S!

  • He wore the Columbias on that day only. :)

  • look 0:58 - Jordan funny as shit

  • REMEMBER JORDAN MADE THOSE 20 POINTS IN 3 QUARTERS HE DID NOT PLAY THE ENTIRE GAME

  • Comment removed

  • I am TRULY the HUGEST MJ fan ever! I believe that you all need to sthu haters of mj and keep your thoughts to your self! (:

  • Shaq was the true MVP of this game. Everyone was just on the MJ bandwagon that entire season.

    Jordan 20 pts - 4 reb - 1 ast -1 steal

    Shaq 25 pts - 10 reb - 1 ast - 2 blocks

  • @glocsta707

    jordan,shooting guard:8/11 o'neal,center:10/16

some players led by penny hardaway said shaq was the real mvp of this game.

some led by grant hill said M.J. was the real mvp of the game.

and jordan himself said shaq was the mvp and offered him the trophy in the locker room and shaq didn't accept that.

i personnaly always knew that mike was the real mvp because he didn't try to shine and he did, otherwise shaq tried to dominate robinson in front of his crowd the whole game.

  • @lionelangemario it does not matter what you personally think or claim to know. the stat line and the fact MJ himself offered up the trophy tells the real story

  • @glocsta707

"what i claim to know...?"man i have nothing to prove,if you know you know,if you don't you don't...what i think matter because of people like you who are going to show just a side of the story,so i'm glad of my comments.and what i said concerning penny or grant hill was not even something secret..they said it openly.

  • @glocsta707 who cares, to be honest, all the all-star games are just a joke, all for entertainment, no one even plays their best, the defense is lacking to allow each other to do as much cool shots as possible.

  • @glocsta707 michael jordan deserves the MVP with that sick ass assist btw lol.. but then shaq deserves the MVP for getting his free throw in this particular highlight lmao

  • @ChanganPol242y2011 with your last comment you just proved what you really are. nothing more then a kid living in Michael Jordan land. I don't even like Shaq but stats don't lie.

  • lol these fools cant even watch michael jordan clips without talking about Kobe. 81 points in 1 game. 5 rings. slam dunk champion. etc etc etc

  • fuck kobe

  • my comment was to @wornoutshoes11 btw LOL noob cunt

  • kobe is not over rated, lebron is. you're an asshole lebron couldn't even get ring with bosh and wade. like wtffffffffffffz

  • dunk at 6-55 classic air jordan......blue uniforms=ugly

  • Michael simply the best!!!!

  • Omega Psi Phi moment @4:22 MJ and Shaquille O'neal are both representing their fraternity.

  • haha glen rice fucked sarah palin. but anyway, where can i get some of them shaqs nowadays. im tryna style on this bitch im chasin.

  • "Head coach; Phil, JACKSON."..........AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH LOL.

  • Shaq dancing at the start..

    OMG

  • now some players need to score more than 30 points to win MVP in allstar, lol

  • whats the name of the song at the beginning???

  • There were more superstars in the 90s than today. I miss watching these great players. They were the best players of all time.

  • See That Bruh Shoot The Hooks At 4:22

  • @franckkom.... ... So its not all about how many points they scored. MJ scored high in many games with HIGH percentage, Phil JAckson said himself that kobe could never reach that level. ITs all about playing as a team and LEADING the team. Despite his 5 rings he could NEVER lead a team. This year he said he wasnt an underdog anymore but obviously he wasnt a leader anyways and he CHOKED. Kobe is all about talent but thats all.Nothing more.

  • @franckkom.... Shaq doesnt have much??? Kobe got his rings because SHAQ SAVED THE TEAM AND HE WAS THE LEADER!!!! Shaq only has 1 less ring than less... so u cant say Shaq doesnt have much. I do agree Kobe is better than probably every single player EXCEPT FOR MJ! but only talent wise. If u look at Kobe's hyigh scoring games u can NEVER see a high percentage. Yes he scored 81 points but he was so selfish and his percentage was not good. Thats WHY Phil Jackson didnt let him play in the last part

  • @jrrussell29.... comparing defence over kobe with the what MJ had??? defend kobe all u want. he will NEVER be considered as best of ever. He is great but thats all. NExt to him, MJ is in another dimension....The defence on MJ was way way more intense than what Kobe has. Kobe won the championships just because the hard work was done by others like Shaq and Gasol. This year when Gasol choked, kobe was not enough. MJ lead the team and made sure the team won it, he took care of the hard work himself

  • @sydneyboi4fun Stop saying nuts ! MJ has 6 titles and is retired, KB got 5 and he's still playing. Shaq and Gasol don't have much. MJ is best player ever for sure, but KB is certainly part of greatest more than all other players... And about defense, not that KB scored 81pts! Only Wilt can say better.

  • see how hard the players grab the rim when they dunk...its so much more electrifying back in the days...

  • My favorite all-star jersey of all time

  • thumbs up if u peeped MJ and Shaq throwing up the Que Dog horns

  • KOBE= MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME...

KOBE'S THREE RINGS= THANKS TO SHAQ...

KOBES 5TH RING= THANKS TO PAU AND RON ARTEST...

KOBES MOVES= THANKS TO ALL THE PLAYERS THAT HE COPIED FROM...

    ENOUGH SAID...

  • @wornoutshoes11 Thank You!!! I've been trying to tell people all this time, obviously your a very smart man. I'm a so-called JORDAN LEGACY DEFENDER, you must be too.

  • @Mykoveli just keeping it real. your welcome... peace out bro.

  • @wornoutshoes11 4th ring thanks to dj mbenga, FUCK YOU FAGGOT

  • @wornoutshoes11 Why don't you just search "best NBA player", then watch what the players have to say.

  • @h3rcvry yeah right! LOL let me ask u 1 thing about that vid... who the hell are those player's making comments??? LOL and it says new millenium! u can have your so called "best in the new millenium" kid... they have nothing on the MJ's, MAGIC's and BIRD's of the old era...

  • @wornoutshoes11 Hey, I am as big an MJ fan as anyone! I have great respect for MJ, Magic, Bird, etc. I hated when MJ left the game, then I started watching KB, and saw that he was the closest thing to Jordan. I've played basketball all my life on many levels, and I agree there are few today that hold a candle to the "old dogs." You saying Kobe is the most overrated player in the history of the game is just ridiculous. You think the guys you mentioned didn't have help winning their rings?

  • @h3rcvry how can u not say kobe is overrated? his stat's are screaming to death saying he's not! how come when u watch espn u only see the 1 spectacular shot he made over and over again? how come when they talk about the 5 rings they never mention SHAQ as the MVP on all of their 1st 3 championship's? how come they gave the finals MVP to him in 10' when it was clear that gasol carried the team and kobe never showed up? how come they say he's clutch when he's not? ask HENRY ABBOTT.

  • @wornoutshoes11 who was responsible for his 81 points? Luke Walton?

  • @Scampbell32 LMFAO. Poor Luke, people always give him shit. Hahahaha.

  • @wornoutshoes11 What? are you crazy.... wtf.

  • @wornoutshoes11 HAHAHA... WHY ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT KOBE FOR???

DAMN YOU MUST HATE HIM THAT BAD TO TALK ABOUT HIM IN JORDAN'S CLIPS!!!

  • @wornoutshoes11 Thank u god i've been said that!

  • what song at the begining????

  • eastern all star stater stronger than dream team 1

  • This is not All Start Team 1996. This is THE All Star Team.

  • michael jordan legend

  • Shaq made a freethrow.

  • 3:16 wow.. very similar to wat kobe was saying yesterday.... if there are ne chicago fans during the great mj years, tell me how did u get over mj retiring.. cause iono if ill ever watch basketball again if kobe retires. haha... its a saaaaaad day wen that happens. yea the game goes in cycles HOWEVER, players like kobe and michael change the game so that new players watch and learn making the overall game better than wat is was before... the end

  • @sshaxy lmao no disrespect to kobe but how did he change the game since all he does is copying mj? ur comment is hilarious

  • @sshaxy don't try to talk as if he's Jordan man

  • @sshaxy yea kobe fanboys would be sad when he retires but that's just small portion. Back in the day, majority of basketball fans were actually MJ fans so it was a disaster to the world for MJ's retirement.

  • @brian05fubu u guys should be feeling at least a lil sad... there is no one in the nba that can play like kobe......... he is the only entertaining person to watch in the nba due to his killer instinct... no one else has that,,, but unfortunately he has so many haters that ppl are blind.. just look at all his highlights.... then u will realize that if u were a fan of kobe u would understand that no one plays like him and that he won 5 championships.. hes a great basketball player

  • @sshaxy Kobe fanboys like you are even more sad that you not only wish Kobe is MJ, but completely missed my point and just ramble on with BS. Who said Kobe isn't great? I agree with you that no one plays like him. He's the closest out there of the post 95 old MJ. Of course he is cuz every move is originated from the greatest. But the fact that "nobody plays like him" don't mean "he changes the game." smfh. MJ changed the game not the copycat.

  • @sshaxy I understand that you're fooling yourself. Stop that, it's bad for you.

  • @sshaxy KOBE NEVER CHANGE A THING FROM THE GAME...MJ DID AND THE REST OF THE GREAT PLAYERS IN HIS ERA. TODAYS GAME WAS CHANGE DRAMATICALLY TO FIT PLAYERS LIKE KOBE...A WEAKLING AND A CRYBABY...

  • that last MJ dunk looks freaking amazing! He should've used it during slam dunk contest :D

  • @Jumpman1989 : He did use it in the slam dunk contest. His second dunk from the free-throw line in 1988.

  • Watching the NBA now reminds me of the movie Space Jams. The guys now are like the ogres in the movie. Great athleticisms but not ballers. Then the guys in the 90s are MJ with the finesse, IQ, talent, and charisma. Back then i wanted to hear everyone of them speak, all very classy. Now the kids can't even make grammatically correct sentences--since some of the best haven't even gone to college--and sport way too many tatoos. Ogres vs. Ballers. Ballers all the way!

  • just one word to describe it: CLASSIC!!!

  • Shaq Shoes were UGLY!

  • Probably the greatest era of NBA basketball, followed by the Lakers/Celtics of the 80's.

  • WHOA SHAQ MADE A FREE THROW!

  • One word that lack players nowadays: CLASS. Jordan, Pippen, Hardaway...are simply CLASS ACTS.

  • The good old days of the National Basketball Association!

  • whats the song at the beginning ?

  • basketball in its prime

  • MJ and Shaq on the same team...yikes

  • MJ, Alonzo, Ahmad Rashād and Shaq are all Frat brothers, that's why when David got smashed on, Shaq went to half court and thru up that Omega sign and MJ replied w/one. Omega Psi Phi

  • I think Shaq and MJ should have tied for MVP...

  • Great stuff i found on the internet was mostly at NBAPremium(.)tk Kinda best NBA site i have ever found

  • MJ, Scottie, Prime Penny/Hill/Shaq. That's got to be the most athletic all-star starting 5 ever. And MJ/Scottie weren't even in their athletic primes in '96.

  • @mt883 my all stars ever 5 is mj shaq scottie nowitzky and dont know who will be the fifth

  • @mt883 That is a monstrous lineup. It really is too bad about Hill and Hardaway with those injuries that kept them from reaching their potential and teaching these young kids how to play smart basketball.

  • mj played with scottie but you dont say well he wone it with a superstyar huh fucking prickss

  • @jrrussell29 So, what is your point? Ole dumbass! MJ is the greatest!

  • hehis points are all from non contested shots go watch kobe you see that contest all the tie...

  • @jrrussell29 MJ was triple team and double team...he still has the highest scoring avg in NBA History.

  • @mt883 Pippen was still in his prime. Jordan wasn't but he had a better mid range shot at this point in his career. If you want to see the best game, check out 1990 or 1992 when magic came back.

  • 6:42 one of Michael best dunks ever. Same style dunk as the one he used in the 1988 dunk contest to win where he crosses his legs in the air.

People need to stop whining about Shaq not getting the MVP or saying he should of gotten just because he owned the Admiral with that tomahawk jam. So they gave it to Jordan. Big deal. The Admiral owned Shaq first when he blocked Shaq earlier dunk attempt to which Jordan saved the ball from going out of bounds and still got it to Shaq.

  • MJ is the freshest thing since sliced bread

  • the allstar game needs to come back to San Antonio!

  • i remember going to this allstar game, i was 8 years old. i'm surprised Robinson didn;t get the start over Hakeem, since this was in San Antonio

  • are you crazy hakeem ripped shaq david and pat i really dnt care bout it being hosted in teaxs kakeem was the best center there at the time

  • @serenitydrummer look at Nowitzki not getting a start in the Dallas All Star Game. The guy's only started one All-Star game and he's one of the top 20 players of ALL-TIME... He should have about 6 starts.

  • @PJHunterTJ Dirk one of the top 20 of all time? What are you, on crack? Dirk doesn't even have a ring yet!

  • Ahh, the days when watching the NBA actually was worthwhile...

  • Heyyyy!!!!! I have a bone to pick with this video. You missed the best highlight; you know the dunk!!! That should have won Shaq MVP hands down And honestly, he was the MVP.

  • Just look at the unbelievable assembling of talent on the court in this game. Look at the unbelievable level of athleticism on display here..

It just boggles my mind that these dumb ass kids today are so desperate & eager to claim today's players as the greatest that have ever played & claiming MJ played against smaller & unathletic/inferior players is unbelievable LOL!!

How they can see something like this & actually try & imply something so absurd is beyond my comprehension..

  • True Realfan how could evolution skip the 90's and go straight to the 2000's in which I like to call the high school development era!!

  • Yep, it pisses me off too. The NBA isn't better than it was in the 90s. Sure, the players are more athletic but back in the 80s and 90s, those guys had a lot more 'basketball skills.' Also, they could consistently hit a jump shot unlike a lot of the 'stars' of today.

  • These guys today aren't more athletic, they just "rely" more on physical ability than their predecessors, which only HIGHLIGHTS how much "lesser" they are than them..

    Ask yourself these question:

How many FT line dunkers do we have today? VERY..VERY few..

Have the dunks U see in today's dunk contest & in the actual games, been pioneered, perfected & done ALREADY in the mid 80's thru the 90's?

The answer is a VEHEMENT yes..

  • Great take. I can agree with all of that....never really thought of it in those terms.

    I like it. Cheers, mate.

  • i totally agree

  • @RealFan357

    I feel you man.

But hey, THEY ARE KIDS. What do you expect?

    80s + 90s = The golden age of NBA.

You will never again find such incredible players at one spot.

  • @RealFan357 These days the guys may be bigger, but in no way are they more athletic... The best players of today are as good as the great players of the 90s.

  • @GRiMxSG

1986-90: avg league height (6-8.72)....avg league weight (220.46lbs)

1992-00: avg league height (6-6.20)....avg league weight (212.67lbs)

2003-10: avg league height (6-5.48)....avg league weight (210.00lbs)

In fact, the BIGGEST yrs on file are 1987-89..

Today's era is currently the SMALLEST era on file since the 70's, due to more teams drafting wing players to take advantage of the new rules that FAVORS them.

  • @RealFan357 Wow really?? I guess the TV just makes them look bigger haha

  • @RealFan357 I think people were saying that when Jordan was playing, referencing Bird, Magic, etc. This thing goes in cycles.

With that said, I don't really see a significant decline in the perception of Jordan's impact on the game or histalent; In fact I've seen a resurgence of Jordan appreciation in this day of youtube.

  • @RealFan357 People were saying the same about the NBA during Jordan's reign, referencing a better league when Bird, Magic, etc were playing. These things go in cycles.

With that said, I haven't seen a significant decline in kids talking about MJ's talent or impact on the game; in fact it's probably as high as ever in this day of youtube and such. MJ also recently was the cover of a popular videogame, which only helped.

  • um do you see how easy it was to go to the basket?? thats not only weak defense but the fact that he can pass threw the middle like that... u serious ? there was no zone defense back then the rules changed

  • yeah they dont even contest jordans shot huh great defense he never gets that hand in that face like players do now especially kobe

  • MJ is much slower here then before in early 90's

but in his last year with Bulls He was fast as hell.

  • speakin of MVP's. during his championship years 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, & 98 the only years he DIDN'T win reg season MVP was 93 to barkley and 97 to malone, both whom he statedly BEAT in the Finals those years

  • Yep, Malone didn't deserve that MVP.

  • @noel8421 also game 1 of the 97 finals malone misses two free throws to tie the game and jordan hits the game winner next play. To show who really was the mvp.

  • the only reason why mj didnt get mvp every single year is becuase the nba wanted some other ppl to shine..... which is f'really stupid and i think he got robbed in 97' cuz he made history that ASG

  • damn u shoulda also put that dunk with shaq over david robinson lol that dunk was just SICK

  • This was an incredible era. Shaq and MJ in one team.

  • when Michael was playing on the 90 's , on all - stars games the east always dominated ... the Reason " MIchael Jordan " now the dominat conference is the west

  • Wow I did not even realize that stat. MJ went 3 for 3 in the MVPs 2 seasons. That kinda shows how dominant he was. And 1997 he should've been regular season MVP. The All-star MVP was debatable as well as he got the only triple double ever in the ASG.

  • 1996 was a special year for MJ as he swept the MVPs for the 1st time in his career.

    Reg Sea MVP

    All star MVP

    Finals MVP

will do that again in 1998.

  • :19-:20 best

  • One of my favorite All-Star games, great upload.....Thanks!

    Go Bulls!

  • 4:09 is just a glimpse of what MJ would have done with a dominant big guy on his side !!!!!

Please pause at 4:23 at look at MJ's huuuuuges hands !!!

  • Damn, you're right

    those are some ginormous mitts

  • At the 4:23 mark, MJ was doing the hand signal that saluted his fraternity, Omega Psi Phi, also known as the "Q-Dogs." Shaq's a part of the same frat as well. I'm guessing by watching this sequence @ 4:23, MJ was just giving his frat brother some props lol!

  • MJ was booed because Shaq was playing in his home town (he played high school ball in S.A.) and fans thought he should have won...but Shaq got most of his points in garbage time. MJ said he offered to give Shaq the trophy, but Shaq said keep it.

  • just love that give and go between penny and MJ its what ive been saying for a long time, movement without the ball

  • I want those Columbia XI's that MJ was wearing

  • yeah it was...i think thats the only time ive seen david get done like that

  • he also might have been boo'd for cheering too much when shaq dunked on david robinson in this game

  • cant blame the man, make no mistake, it was a seriously nasty jam

  • Man, one of the greatest Poster's ever!!!

  • damn right

  • I still have the poster of Shaq dunking on Robinson and behins its another of Jordan on a break-away in this game. It came in that Slam magazine the next month

  • i remember that it use to b on my wall

  • Damn that dunk on D-Rob was, wicked, sick and nasty! I remember my dad´s reaction when I put on the tape, he couldnt help but laugh his head off the way the big Aristotle humiliated the Admiral on his home floor I might add...

  • Penny - MJ - Grant Hill - Pip - Shaq. Amazing starting lineup. Great video.

  • One of the great starting lineups in All-Star history

  • this was a controversial ending when they awarded MJ the mvp. you could hear some poeple booeing in the background b/c they wanted shaq to win the mvp. i think the right choice was made though

  • controversial ending my foot. MJ was 6 for 6 fg by like 3rd quarter. MJ deserved it if you have shot 100% fg for more than half of the game. all star game, everyone just jack up the shots & miss tons of them.
