So is that why you often see pros throwing the ball really high in the air, because it gets a higher velocity thus allowing for more spin?

@ltsjack Yes. Higher tosses have higher available energy for speed and spin production in a serve. They're a bit harder to keep short though.

@RealBlackMach No, as we explained you cannot hit the ball as it is rising. You must hit it on the way down after throwing it up at least 6 inches.
