i have a question,is this guitar like an acoustic?the wholes make it look like the insides would be like a acoustic,i want to get one but im scared it will break easily
@IIIIjimmyIIII its semi hollow which means it has a solid middle section which make them quite strong i have one and it can take a beating and they sound very very nice
@MrDannyboyhall thanks, would you say these are only good for music that soesnt use distortion?im planning on using it for my metal core/post-hardcore band.i know its wierd, trying to start something new haha.ive heard it just depends on the pedals and amps.
@IIIIjimmyIIII hell no i use mine to play with massive distortion and it just gets better this guitar is so versatile it can play anything but yeah it depends on pedals and amps you use but the guitar is capable of playing almost anything
i've been offered this guitar for 250 - i have 100. and uptight parents. and i need to get a delay pedal. i'm in a post rock band and we have a big gig coming up soon, buying this would be a gamble, what dyou think i should do?
Are you using an amp here? I'm interested on buying this guitar and I wanted to know if it sounds loud as acoustic guitars or similars even if not put through an amp...
This guitar would need to be amplified to hear it over even normal conversation. This isn't an acoustic guitar. It's a semi-hollowbody with chambers in the body that add a certain woodiness and openness to the amplified tone.
Get a Tele I suppose..get the one with a single coil and a humbucker..get a little bit of both sounds..I think Fender has a model with that spec..or maybe Squire..hope tht helps
@MFJord1 I play mostly high end Fenders and PRS, I have gigged my Dot Studio and it keeps up :) best bang for the buck I have ever had in a guitar. You just need to find the right one and make sure it has a proper setup
I do get a lot of feedback from this guitar...semi hollow bodies always does..just need to be able to control the feedback then it'll not become a problem...Hendrix used feedback to great effect!!! Cheers!
Yes, there are markers on the side of the fretboard..it's a bit awkward at first playing without the pearl markers on the frets, but I'm used to it already..cheers
its available left-handed?

Would this sound like an acoustic unplugged??
SuperAragorn666 2 weeks ago
how much did it cost?
Rocker5234 2 months ago
i must say i prefer dot studio to standard dot. not everyone realizes it is a very different guitar due to mahogany body instead of maple.
1actionkamen 3 months ago
@1actionkamen Wouldn't you say mahogany is a superior tonewood? Versus maple, I mean.
